There are two Darby-Bibles in German now. The old unrevised Elberfelder-Bible and the new much more widely used revised Elberfelder-Bible. Many consider this to be the most accurate translation, but I would never use it myself since it is mostly based on the Alexandrian and Vatican manuscripts. The original Lutherbible is the german equivalent of the english King-James-Bible. Even some brethren congregations are switching from Darby's Bible to the Schlachter 2000 Bible which is also Masoretic Text/Textus Receptus but in more modern language than Luthers Bible.
There is a very thorough excellent website contending for the supremacy of the original Lutherbible over all other german translations.

Sorry only in German!

Finally some real solution to the Episcopal dilemma. Too bad it took them so long to realize they had to leave. This demonstrates the terrible binding and deceiving power of false religion. As for Bishopette Schori, she had better repent and resign from her position or she might end up like her spiritual mommy jezebel.

Just one more corrupt translation. We already had a few of them in German before. Somehow these days language seems to change so drastically that we need a new translation about every other year. I would contend that the most accurate and certainly the most powerful and beautiful German Version is Martin Luthers unrevised version of 1545. There are two other modern translations in German (Luther 1998 published only by a fundamentalist bible-believing publishing house and Schlachter 2000 published by the House of the Bible in Geneva) which are also based on the Masoretic Hebrew text and the Greek Textus Receptus. I believe they are legitimate, but remember it was Luther's Bible that birthed the glorious Reformation and it was also Luthers Bible that created a standard German language which is today the common official language in all of German-speaking Europe.

The patriotic Swiss People's Party has launched an initiative to prohibit the erection of minarets (islamic prayer-towers) in Switzerland. I hope they will be successfull although the socialists, ecumenists and pro-EU-uthopians call everybody who stands against the continuing islamization of Europe an extreme right-wing neo-nazi bigot. Well I am sure God will NOT honour our nation if we will promote a satanic religion that is murdering Christians all over the world.

The sad part of the story is that Ms McDade was the ONLY ONE offended. I sure would be offended by seeing people burning the Swiss flag. But that's what socialism, the UN and the EU is all about, destroying our national identity, our national independence and above all our God-given Christian heritage.

It is high time for the bible-believing remnant in the Episcopal and Anglican churches to leave that doomed and sinking ship of fools. Heed God's warning to all believers remaining in apostate churches:
"Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues..."
Revelation 18:4

Unfortunately the same is going on in the Swiss Reformed Church of Switzerland. More and more women pastors, more and more women usurping authority over men in diverse church organisations and positions. So far I have never heard any swiss reformed pastor sound a protest against this unbiblical practice. What's even worse though is that more and more so-called evangelical churches who claim to be bible-believing are accepting women in spiritual leadership positions. Why should we be surprised when the Scriptures say that judgement MUST begin at the house of God?

May God bless these foster parents. Finally some people who did not give in to the pro-gay propaganda. Let us pray that God will give all of us the courage to speak up against this evil and not hide for fear of the sodomites. I know how cruel and violent these people can be, because I once was on their side.

I am fully aware that modern western society rejects capital punishment. But for a Christian the Bible is the ultimate authority and not the ever-changing standards of a wicked society.

Amen Terry Evans.

Salvation is not in a church but in Christ Alone! NO church is safe from apostacy. The Swiss Reformed Church is for the most part as apostate as you can get. The word "reformed" doesn't mean anything to most people here nowadays. I know this is true for other reformed churches as well...like in the Netherlands, Scotland etc.

Jim, I agree with not killing unbelievers. We are in a SPIRITUAL Battle. Nevetheless I believe that a godly government should implement the death penalty for adultery like most islamic states do. I believe the Old Testament legal codex is still valid today. The death penalty should not be limited to adultery of course but applied to all crimes that deserve capital punishment according to the Scriptures.

I can't help but admire the Russian Orthodox Church for their stand on halloween and other evils of modern society, even though I disagree with many of their doctrines. If the average (European) evangelical church of today had the same backbone things might look a little brighter.

Amen Allan.

Ephesians 6 is the Christians daily wardrobe. But as I understand it, the Bible is full of spiritual wars from beginning to the end. Though our weapons are spiritual and therefore more powerful and invincible than all the carnal weapons of men. All Christians are called to fight the fight of faith.

Hear! Hear! The experts say that Halloween is turning to the dark side. What a joke. Helloween has been dark as hell from its very beginning and jack-o-lanterns and caspar the "friendly" ghost were lies from the pit when they first arrived. The only change is that Satan is getting bolder as his time is running out.

I wished all Christians were as militant for their faith as these muslims are for their religion. At least they do not let themselves be intimidated by political correctness. By the way born-again Christians should not marry non-believers either. Some neo-evangelicals could learn a lesson in morality from the poor deceived muslims.

I am sorry but Mrs. Combs outcry comes a little late. Did it take seven books and five movies until she realized that these books were made in hell? That's unfortunately the lack of spiritual discernment prevalent in the evangelical world today.

Geee! Just that list of names sounds scary to me. I would not want to be caught dead at that event. Birds of a feather gather together? I always felt uncomfortable with Rick Warren, now I am starting to understand why. Too bad his books are such a blast all over the evangelical world.

It was the pharisees who accused Christ and His followers of working miracles by the power of Satan. It is the Calvinists who accuse the followers of Christ of experiencing miracles today by the power of Satan. Conclusion: The Calvinists are the children of the pharisees. The Apostolic Christians are the disciples of Christ. Christ mentioned in this context also the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit which is a very serious error.

This is going to be my last comment on this issue. We are going in circles in this discussion with the same old arguments coming up again and again.

I just pity the poor Apostolic Christians of the first 1500 years of the Church who had a literal interpretation of the Bible and cosidered the Bible ALONE as their authority. These poor creatures did not have Calvin's institutes of religion nor any reformed confession to teach them what the Bible REALLY says.

And yet, I prefer to remain an Apostolic Christian instead of converting to the religion of Calvinism.

Walt

Here is a good website promoting my side of the story:

www.evangelicaloutreach.org

Look for the article:
"His ashes cry out against John Calvin"
with all sources listed in the footnotes.
Caution: This website is thoroughly biblical and could destroy your faith in Calvinism.

Thank you Michael Hranek, I agree wholeheartedly with your comments.

Walt

I do NOT owe my freedom to John Calvin. I am free despite John Calvin. The main swiss reformer Ulrich Zwingli from Zurich had a similar approach to people he did not agree with. He had a good number of Swiss Anabaptists drowned in the lake of Zurich for rejecting the reformed (romanist?) doctrine of infant baptism. By the way I do not even know what Arminianism is and I do not care for it. My beliefs come from the scriptures ALONE. SOLA SCRIPTURA means the Scriptures ONLY. Nobody needs the Westminster Confession or Calvin's Institutes of Religion to understand true Christianity and the beautiful simplicity of the Gospel.
