Yeah, the LORD has chosen blasphemous men like the self-proclaimed Pharisee of Pharisees Saul of Tarsus ("an instrument whom I have chosen" (Acts 9:15)) and others to fulfill his purposes whom we would rather avoid.Jeremiah 27:6 Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, my servant; even the wild animals I have given him to serve him. Jeremiah 43:10 Then say to them: Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I will send for my servant Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. He will place his throne upon these stones which I, Jeremiah, have set up, and stretch his canopy above them. Isaiah 44:28 I say of Cyrus,[a] My shepherd! He carries out my every wish, Saying of Jerusalem, “Let it be rebuilt,” and of the temple, “Lay its foundations.” Isaiah 45:1 Thus says the Lord to his anointed, Cyrus, whose right hand I grasp, Subduing nations before him, stripping kings of their strength, Opening doors before him, leaving the gates unbarred. |

"I can’t look at any of his behavior and see evidence of the Holy Spirit in his life." (Stephanie Krider)In the article Ms Krider has reckoned in her heart (not her mind) that saving the lives of the unborn counts less than the personality of the man responsible for saving them. Being filled with the Holy Spirit nor being saved are requirements of being President of the United States; they are most desirable but not requirements. Do we ask mechanics, store clerks, dentists, doctors, carpenters, plumbers, or (you get my drift) any other secular workers who and what they worship before we solicit and pay for their services? Of course not. Do we drag our kids out of surgery when the surgeon or nurse utters an expletive? Before someone claims that I am comparing Donald J Trump with Jesus of Nazareth then I say up front, "Definitely not!" But, here are comments of people concerning Jesus recorded in John's gospel to show how feelings can cloud a person's objectivity: John 7:12 Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. Some said, "He is a good man." Others replied, "No, he deceives the people." John 7:20 “You have a demon,” the crowd replied. “Who is trying to kill You?” John 19:15 At this, they shouted, “Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him!” |
