I am waiting for someone of status to have the guts to publicly say Nate Collins is a lost man that is a Sodomite who is infiltrating the church with the help and endorsement of people connected with TGC and ERLC. He is not a gay man in a mixed orientation marriage. He is a man married to a woman and a Sodomite. Many men are married yet mess around with other men. Nothing new.
There was double speak at that conference. They have since taken down the youtube videos so you can't really know what was said the WHOLE conference. Nate Collins who is a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminar and teacher there for many years up until the last couple months before the conference was saying some shameful things. Janet Jeffers was able to save audio and shared it on Janet Mefferd Today Show. Dr. Mohler "repented" of believing in repartative therapy for sodomites and lesbians a few years back. He is double speaking on the subject as well.
Dr. James White held an interfaith dialogue with an Imam in 2017 at a church in Tennessee. Dr. White is theologically sound yet did this. This nonsense is not just happening amongst nominal Christians. When someone of Dr. White's caliber does this it should make us all give pause and understand that we should be witnessing to Muslims not dialologing with them.
These folks are worked up about nothing. Kavanaugh already stated he would abide by Roe vs. Wade as judicial precident when questioned by Senator Schumer. As I said before unless there is a revival The murder of the pre-born will continue. The goal should be abolition not regulation just like slavery. That is why pro-lifers like Kavanaugh (like ERLC , TGC, and SBC President JD Greear). Pro life is different than abolition. The first wants it regulated. The latter want it gone.
There is an audio clip of Kavanaugh being grilled by a Senator about Roe v. Wade and he said he would uphold it as judicial precident. This was when he was being confirmed to a lower court. He is a Jesuit Catholic from what I understand. He is not pro life and would overturn a hornets' nest before he wouor Roe v Wade. We were dipped by Reagan appointing Kennedy and Sandra Day O'Connor. Gorsuch wouldn't vote to overturn the opinion either. Abortion is a sacred cow. Only a revival of The Spirit would put put an end to it. People have got to get saved and a lot for it to go away.
FB can post and take down.what they want cause it is their site and it's free. There is enough info out their to see how they operate and folks who don't agree should not use it. If enough people stop using them instead of complaining they would change how they operate or shut it down. Zuckerburg is making money hand over fist with that platform (prolly has other business investments). Why people are helping him continue to benefit from FB by using his platform is beyond me. Why are people so desperate to use it? Folks when you use someone else's billboard to post a message don't they have a right to control it? Beisdes, Zuckerburg is a tool of many powerful and influential people who are trying to control and manipulate people.
Great Sermon! Gentleman writing the article discussed is writing about himself and how he wants to be called and looked upon as father rather than Shepherd. He is a candidate for Rome. He will as many Protestants apostatizing therefore wanting to be back under the yoke of Rome. Jesus told us to call no man father. Like you guys said his job is to preach the Word. He is not called to father anyone. He wants preeminence and control of people. My Dad was AWOL and I never expected my pastor to be my Daddy. What foolishness. Fathers are for their children not the flock. Dude has some serious issues. He wants control and would tyrannize the church members.
Great Sermon! Heard the podcast. This article by Mr. Ashby is to get people talking about divorce as acceptable. He talks in circles and has a thesis (which is to have divorce acceptable) and tries to use scripture to support his thoughts. Typical commie tactic. This was used to get abortion legal, homosex legal, and marijuana legal. Find a one extreme case to justfy what the real goal is. To make something evil acceptable. Again, the goal is to get believers to second guess the scriptures by using a crazy, extreme case that may or may not be true. These situations need to be handled by the local church by elders and the members need to know and as a church prayerfully. Folks like Mr. Ashby is a pot stirrer. He wants people to talk and talk until divorce is acceptable across the board no matter what the scriptures teach. Like you said in the beginning of the podcast Believers don't beat each other. When there is sin in the church it is disciplined. Sin in the lives of members is dealt with according to the scriptures. Anyone can come up with "what if" situations all the time or any subject. Kids use that tactic all the time to manipulate parents and agitators are masters at it. Keep preaching the scriptures prayerfully and don't turn to the left or right, but be steadfast.
Nero blamed Christians for the burning of Rome. Catholics have blamed Christians for disunity and split of "true" church and the the rise of other denominations. Today we are blamed for spousal abuse, poverty, homosex oppressions, and systemic racism by society and by the so called evangelical leaders at TGC. A gymnist is also blaming the church of Christ though an unbeliever assaulted her. Because of a scandel at ONE church that likely was not have been handled correctly. Now it's a problem throughout evangelical churches. If it is systemic like amongst catholics (as high up as the vatican) than we have a lot more goats beeing lead by hirelings than under shepherds leading sheep. There are a lot of fake Christians than real ones in America. Been that way a looooong time. However, where the gospel is faithfully preached the goats of today won't tolerate it like they used to in America. They will run to the first Andy Stanley, Word Faith, or Hillsong hireling they can find. They will for sure have gross sin within their midst since they don't preach the gospel, but another which isn't the gospel at all.
Youth in Asia wrote: Experience is here to show the reality. What you think the church is, can only be validated by experience. How can we make the Bible practical, if we don't have experience? Apostle Paul told timothy: And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. 1 Timothy 3:10 ESV
You are ripping that verse out of context. That verse is talking about observing a man's life in the church to see if he is qualified by his godly life to be an officer of the church. It has nothing to do with what we are talking about. Nothing. When you read scripture prayerfully read it in context. All literature is to be taken in it's context and not read from the point of view of the reader, but the author. The bible is the inerrant, infallible, authoritative word of God and is different from all writings in that regard. We can't take scripture and give it meaning it was not intended. The passage you quoted is clearly not talking about experience as we have been discussing. You have already mentioned a negative attitude toward believers based some ill treatment you say you received. Matt 18 applies in that situation. A message board is not the place for that. Go be reconciled or cover it in lo
Youth in Asia wrote: It's not a "shtick" Allie, many pastors are not qualified for this, what are the qualifications for pastors anymore? It seems anyone whose Bible study becomes large enough can qualify to be a pastor. Have you ever been to university campus' before? Join any of their Christian groups and find any leader who is qualified to give sound advice. Or start in your own church, you already showed us how much you care about this topic, by calling everyone ignorant. They might be ignorant, but when you have 2 kids, husband is married to a muslm, debt and no income, that is the last thing you tell these people.
I knew while I was posting that someone was going to make a comment that was emotional and off base. Start talking about an experience as if experience is truth to be lead by. That is the world today and it is in the church. We are gripped by emotion and experience rather than scripture. We start losing the ability to reason cause we are always talking about someone being mistreated or publically crying about mistreatment. Heroes of the faith didn't go around crying about mistreatment. Jesus said love your emenies and do good to them not complain. Jesus was the perfect example of this. The Apostle Paul was too.
Another "victim" of Christ's church. Christians are misogynists, racists, perverts, yada yada yada. I am tired of hearing how wicked Christ's church is. From the gymnist turning her abuse towards the church, MLK50 telling white Christians they are bigots, to now the church giving cover to abusive men. This is all a schtick. Broad brushes being used and blaming Christ's church for evil in society. This is persecution and it is very underhanded the way it is happening. Why does a person have to be told they are a bigot and abused? Don't you as an adult know if you are abused? If you are a bigot in need of repentance wouldn't someone who knows you would have said something rather than a guy who doesn't know you? Are we that soft in the mind? Can we no longer think?
Great Sermon! God grows His church and it is and will be diverse. Rev says people from every tribe, nation, kindred, and tongue will worship in heaven. God saves whom he will and we don't need to worry about ethnic groups. We are told in the gospels to make disciples of the nations. Pastors according the epistles are to preach the word in season and out. All this racial reconciliation stuff is a bunch of nonsense and not according to scripture. This is taking away from the gospel.
Executuve orders are easily overturned with new administrations. I don't think the christians should work with the government, but within their their local body to do charity under the authority of their pastor(s). We have a freedom of religion amendment that is good enough and needs to be enforced. If it is ever done away with then we follow Christ and not man. We peaceably refuse and accept the any persecution by His grace.
Great Sermon! Pastor Sean I really appreciated your part in this podcast. I don't know you, but your thinking and questions you asked were right on and showed your discernment. As a black american and fellow believer you were right and on it even about not bringing social issues into the pulpit UNLESS the text warrants it to drive a point in the sermon as an application. I am glad you questioned being lectured about presupposed sin in your life as a church leader from people who don't know you and then never told you what to do about it. God is clear in his word what sin is how to repent and the works to perform in keeping with repentance. Think about it. About 12K people were told at that conference that they were bigots towards blacks because they were white and the blacks in attendance were told they were victims since they were black. Pastor Sean keep preaching the Word. We need the scriptures preached by our local pastors who know us. The Spirit will work it out in our lives as it relates to others. We will love our brothers in Christ. If we don't we are liars and the truth is not in us according to Apostle John. That simple. TGC is not the vatican for evangelicals. Keep up the good work you are doing. Don't waiver. May God be with you and strengthen your hand.
