Don't mind Mr. Lincoln, he is a devoted statist and runs contrary to anything natural ie God made. Appreciate your comments, just finished a glass of real milk moments ago and in honor of this thread I believe I will go pour another.

"Food nazis"? Really? I don't believe it is wrong to warn people that eating certain foods leads to death.

I'm glad for the stand these parents were taking and may they be blessed for it. However, note the mother interviewed was wearing garments that pertain to men and the father interviewed was wearing two earrings.

Hard for me to believe there is any comparison at all. I've known people and seen the damages caused by an addiction to meth. I have seen their teeth and have seen the teeth of those who drink diet soda (pop for you midwesterners) all their lives and there is no comparison whatsoever.
While this single case-study falls short of being convincing, the body of evidence suggesting sodas to be bad for the teeth, mind, eyes, liver etc. is convincing. It is clear too the cane sugar, caffeine, aspartame etc. have similar addictive properties as the illicit drugs and whether licit or illicit, Christians should not do drugs.

I see no one on this board agreeing with you, or calling you a brother in Christ. So why don't to just crawl back to Papa Francis' side, where you came from.
I agree that name changing is unseemingly. I haven't asked for Steve's testimony but I would consider him as much a brother in Christ as anyone else on this board professing Jesus. This type of banter wears me out and I wish folks could disagree in a more mature fashion.

From the article:

"About a dozen children a year die in the U.S. when their parents choose prayer over medical care, according to Shawn Francis Peters, a University of Wisconsin lecturer who wrote "When Prayer Fails: Faith Healing, Children and the Law."

Perspective...

"An average of 195,000 people in the USA died due to potentially preventable, in-hospital medical errors in each of the years 2000, 2001 and 2002, according to a new study of 37 million patient records that was released today by HealthGrades, the healthcare quality company."

The welfare of a child and the decisions regarding the welfare of a child are the responsibility of a parent. There are far, far more parents that have been responsible for their children's deaths as a result of taking them to an allopathic hospital/doctor. It is not for people outside of that family to determine what the best medical decisions are for the child as these matters are within the realm of family government.

...I didn't doubt them before because I figured, why would a Christian, knowing they were accoutable to God, lie about something like that? Then, I read about all if the near death experiences and very few report anything negative, but rather, happiness, bliss, a white light, etc, problem is that the people I've read are from all different religions. Do you all think these experiences are Satanic and if so, why would God allow anyone to be deceived to the point that they are actually fooled into believing that they are going to Heaven via a near death experience?
Most believers do not believe they are accountable to God.

Yes, on the whole I believe these stories to be Satanic as the descriptions often do not match with the Bible and as you noted, they have an ecumenical bent to them.

I believe the motivation for the Devil on this matter is to convince folks they die and go to an eternal heavenly bliss, when, in fact, they die and go to judgment.

Hebrews 9:27 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Begging your pardon "I'm not sure I have been called to go to one..." is the justification crutch commonly used by Christians to do nothing.

Russian orthodox church ( I assume) protesting against homosexuals. Hmmm- satans agent provocateurs....I think strategically Christians must take a different stance and distance themselves from the gay bashing crowd. Whipping people with nettles is so not the way forward IMHO !!!
At first consideration, I thought maybe this was an article about Atlanta rather than Tbilisi. When the article started out with "Thousands of anti-gay protesters..." I should have known this was nowhere in America. If the choice is between folks threatening to lash with stinging nettle or folks not doing a thing, I'm hard pressed to say which I would prefer. I would prefer though, the next time there is a sodomite pride parade in an American city 1/2 of 1% of the professed Christians in that city go lift a banner for the Lord and preach against it.

This is an excellent trend. I pray every lukewarm "baptist" church gets rid of the name "baptist".

Apologize to Sodom?
I dont care who said it, dont repeat it as its a violation of the 3rd Commandment
Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
I don't know that I would find it to be a commandment violation. I understand the spirit in which it is stated but I am uncomfortable with the quote.

I praise the Lord for the mercy he has shown on my country, my countrymen and myself. I pray he continues to show that mercy and does not deal with us according to our sins. Should he see fit to destroy us, I will understand. Should he continue to have compassion upon us, I will praise his abundant mercy.

Romans 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Homeschooling in Germany was banned in 1938 by a regime that is commonly considered to be the worst ever in existence. Likewise, it is commonly believed, that group no longer exists and yet the policies (not just this one) of that group live on today. Rather than disappearing into the annals of history, their philosophies and the power of the people holding to these philosophies has increased. All that faded is what they call themselves.

They cannot take an institution that was born in iniquity, whose very existence is a result of a lack of integrity and think one can reform it to where these "servants" might possess the "highest levels of integrity". The best solution for this would be to seek the old paths and go back to the America which existed prior to 1913.

Rufus, I do not think God will forbid it.
I have personally met and befriended a Pakistani family who fled here because of fierce persecution from Muslims in their home country. I do not think the Lord will be longsuffering for much longer, as it is his Son who is being persecuted in a very much global sense today.
Should this thing occur, more people who have never persecuted Christians will suffer than those people who have persecuted Christians. Also, there are still Christians in Iran that will no doubt suffer as well. Like the Christians in other countries the Coalition of the Willing has conquered, these Christians live peaceably in this country but after the U.S./Britain/Israel et al install new regimes, the Christians will be worse off and persecuted far more than they were prior.
