If you are seeking marriage by yourself chances are very high the situation is not being accurately represented and you should immediately question your intentions toward your spouse.
The bible is to be consulted first together. You are to read and know your part. If anything else is needed both are to seek help together with someone wise so that it is accurately presented. By two or more whitnesses. You cannot accurately repesent a dispute by yourself.
I agree to a point. What I really wish is that the pastors of the "new calvinism" would take note regarding their associations. Even if they do all way end up having is a stupid conferrence when what we need to do is draw a line in the sand and tell these pastors to repent and stop leading these people astray about christianity.
Jim L has never said you have to leave the RCC and go to an evangelical church to be saved
But he would affirm as I do as the countless scholars that have many helpfull sermons posted on this sight if you would ever care to stop gripping so tightly to your fleshly desire and actually study the subject dilligently for we are talking about worshiping the one true God as He saus we must, that if you are truly born again and a new creature in Christ it would be impossible for you to stay in a satanic, apostate RCC church and sit under blaphemous teaching. The Holy Spirit would absolutely not allow it. MATT 24:24!
I would like to adress the what is the point of praying and proclaiming issue as sensitively as I can if I may add something that might not have been thought of.
The gospel is the pinnacle of God's revelation of Himself and His attributes. When you proclaim the gospel simply and correctly you proclaim this about Him. If your heart is sensitive to God you understand proclamation produces fruit 2 ways, in salvation of the sinner or just condemnation for his rejection so he can bring no charge against God, justly. In both cases God and what He has done is magnified. I also believe if we are more sensitive to the sinner we can come to believe election as unfair. What is unfair is "even though they knew Him as God they DID NOT GLORIFY HIM AS GOD". That is the issue, are we sensitive to God or man? Without election God is not soveriegn, follow that train of thought all the way through
I love the doctrine of devine soveriegnty and grace. I confess I became obsessed with knowing them, the names, the pastors, the terms and concerned myself little with allowing them to wash my soul. I have become a bitter scholar and have come to realize I know nothing. It didn't produce life but a furious zeal.
But I am the problem not the doctrine. These doctrines are beautiful and life changing and I get tired of others blaming calvinism for this. It was me exalting myself and my knowledge. I pray God have mercy on mu soul for having knowledge and not growing
Please consider this with all gentleness and fear, I am doing my best in all love, I promise. Ephesians 1 clearly states predestined before the foundation of the world, read it in the greek, that is what it says. Romans 9 Paul is arguing God's right to choose; not that He does but His right too. The problem is when we apply what we think is good and just to this argument in which Paul is adressing in Romans 9. We are in danger here because we are in opposition to God at this point. God and only God is the origin of good and is soveriegn, that means no matter what He says or thinks, if it pleases Him, that automatically makes it good. He onlu looks to and reasons with Himself only lest He look upon another and forfiet His soveriegnty. What we have to wrestle with is why we feel this ordination is not good not whether it is. This is insubordination. We are the sinners. The problem lies in us not the decree. And so I beg you to consider yhis for your obedience and His rightful exhaltation
Is a debate reall spawning that there is a difference between looking forward or looking backward to God's redeeming work and glorification on the cross? I find it odd the woman is freaked out by this but not the satanic trinkets and the blasphemy of a priest "commanding and calling down Christ into a cracker" or anything in the 5th maryanne dogma....just to name a few
Hey john y going to help you with your confusion. Before you comment again read ezekiel 36-37 then read Paul's argument in Ephesians 2 then you can have some insight as to what some others are talking about
This is what happens when a person sets out to do the "work of God" but doesn't know what it is.
We are commisioned to "make disciples of all nations". The world we live in is evil, we should already know this and it is implied in the commisioning.
We shouldn't be talking about Walmart and plastic blocks
1 tim 4:16 God has appropriated the bible as a means unto salvation. We were not there but we have a concise historical narative that precisely reveals God's plan of salvation. The pulpit is the place where these scriptures are to be taught. Our commands are as such, we obey, God has the yield. Our churches are to be sacred halls of worship where men love to flock to and absorb the word of God, drink from His fountain, worship Him and revel in His provindence for our protection and guidence. Any argument for it not being necessary is offensive, it is a beautiful grace God has given us. I brought up the wheat and tare parable because it is implicit we will have wheat and tares in our churches. But God has loved us so with our glorious, doctrine based, churches full of godly men and women for our instruction and protection
Wrong. They pursued those that were not consistently showing up and I have read stories where elders would show up at your door if you didn't make it that morning. Why? Control? Or are they sensible of a war for souls that many today are not? Flock protection is very serious. Are you implying that you can just leave sheep unattended and hope for the best? Are sheep used for the congregation? Did you think your answer through?
