This "debate" that Barry Watson has started got off the topic of Tiger Woods because he has concluded that Woods was damned to hell before he took his first breath. This of course is "fatalism" and we would all be robots if this were true!

"And he(Jesus) said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and PREACH the gospel to every creature."
Mark 16:15 (KJV)

The key word is "preach" to every creature, it didn't say "save" them! Our part is only to preach the gospel and God does the saving. When those like Barry are not doing that, it is because they are unsaved themselves by believing the false doctrine of "limited" atonement!

No matter what you say to these hyper-calvinists, they do not bother to listen. The argument is too simple for them that just because God knows who is going to heaven or hell doesn't mean they never had a choice. It only shows that God knows the choices they will make. The only sin God will not forgive is the rejection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Tiger Woods has heard Brit Hume tell him what he can do to be saved. So Tiger Woods can never say nobody ever told me about Jesus Christ. All we are to do is plant the seed so God can do the watering by doing our best and let God do the rest. Sadly that is too "deep" for those that believe like Barry!

Funny how the Frenchies prefer one, and the Armies another, whereas I prefer both verses.
Bro John UK,

Did you get my Christmas card? I sent it with the Bible to your friend. Please let me know when you do.

Barry Watson,

When you beleive we can do nothing about our salvation, here is a scripture for you to ponder.

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed not as in my presence only, but much more in my absence, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH AND TREMBLING." Phil 2:12 (KJV)

Here Paul is challenging the Philippian church to "work out" their salvation. They are not working for salvation, no one can do that-it is the gift of God. We are, however to allow our salvaion to work its way out of our hearts and into our lives. We must allow the Lord to "work out" our salvation in everyday living. We are told to work it out with "fear and trembling." Below are a few thoughts to consider about how you are allowing the Lord to work in and through your life if you are saved:
1. I am convicted when I sin against a holy God.
2. I am challenged each time I read the Bible.
3. I am compelled to pray.
4. I am concerned for the lost.
5. I am connected to the brethen.
6. I am caring fo others.
7. I am consumed with glorifying God.

So ask the Lord to help you "work out" your salvation so that He will be glorified, other people edified by your example, and you will be encouraged in your faith.

If you do not care for the lost or are not concerned for others, YOU are lost!

Barry Watson wrote:
Matters not if Tiger chooses comes to christianity .. Which is a false calling.
One cannot call himself...
Joh 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
Calling is by election, not by self-calling, self-appointing, self-choosing which is arminian calling..
Barry Watson,

If you can't call on Jesus Christ to be your Saviour when you realize you are a sinner and can't pay for your sins, so what makes you think you are one of the elect?

Very well said, Riaan Meyer. It is nice to know this morning we still have people like you around the world that have not been swayed away from the KJV and are standing firm in His preserved Word to us.

May God continue to bless you and your family with good health and prosperity as you study His Word to grow together spirtually to those you are teaching!

It is great to see another top athlete like Tim Tebow share his Christian faith publicly!

"God has dealt to everyone a measure of faith" Rom 12:3b (KJV). But what you put your faith in will determine where you will spend eternity. Your church, family, employment, etc. will not save you, only by putting it on the blood that Jesus Christ shed for you on the cross will do that.

"I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by Me." John 14:6 (KJV)

That is exclusive and totally eliminates the "all roads lead to heaven" lie that the world including Billy Graham trys to promote!

It is all encompassing to "whosoever will," but also intimately personal as He loves me and did it all for me, and you too can say that my friend if you have called on Jesus Christ to be your Saviour!

I pray all of you will have a blessed, prosperous and very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The lottery is just another tax on the poor because they are the ones who mostly are playing it. The real odds of hitting it are like getting hit with lightning on a "clear" day! Our country should not be in the business of encouraging people to play the lottery where the chances of winning are practically nil!

If you have ever seen the documentaries on those who have won it, most of them have had much more tragedy than happiness as money gained in this manner has little value. That is because despite what the world tries to tell us, money can not buy you happiness, love, friends, etc. When the money is gone, so are all of those!

"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and have pierced themselves through, with many sorrows". 1Ti 6:10 (KJV)

We all should be praying and thanking God for what we Have and not what we don't have if we really want His blessing on our lives!

"Spurgeon's Dying Testimony"

"...I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Gal 2:20b (KJV)

A friend of Spurgeon's stood by the bedside of the prince of preachers as he lay dying. C. H. Spurgeon's testimony to his caller was, "My theology now is in four words, Jesus died for me. I do not say this is all I shall preach were I raised up, but it is enough to die upon, Jesus died for me."

If one lives long enough, he will come to a deathbed of his own, and the musing of a man on the threshold of eternity are weighty and well-heeded. We often get caught up in causes and various crises and neglect the most important matters. It is not the coins we've been able to collect nor the cars we drove that have precedence on the back porch of life and the front door to the Beyond. The yawning maw of the hereafter awaits mankind, for we all have a last page to our appointment books (cf. Heb.9:27). The truth of the matter resides not only in the fact Jesus died for us, but our acceptance of that fact is our sole hope of salvation, forgiveness and Heaven. The boundless blessing of this truth is ensconed in the immortal words, "...who loved me, and gave himself for me."

jc,

Your last comment made you sound like a very wise man the way you closed it. God has blessed you with wisdom if you have left the RCC as that takes the work of the Holy Spirit to have the courage come out of that church.

Phi 2:3 "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other, better than themselves."

The reason we are to do this is because I know what I have done in my life and I am a sinner who deserves to go to hell, but I am saved by Grace. Since I don't know what you have done, I am to esteem you higher than myself.

I am sorry I came across as annoyed but there are other days like Easter that was once a pagan holiday, etc. so you get too hung up on trival things, you can easily forget the more important thing which is putting Jesus Christ #1 and worshipping Him.

May God bless you with good health to serve Him better as you witness and share the Gospel with other Catholics.

jc,

It is quite evident you are under the Law and not under Grace as well as a scorner if you continue to make your argument for keeping the Sabbath Day on Saturday.

If Jesus met with the disciples on the first day of the week after he arose where they were gathered and the disciples were STILL meeting on the first day of the week when Paul preached to them, then only a Seventh Day Adventists such as yourself would try to make some kind of weak argument that they needed more evidence.

If you are not a Seventh Day Adventist, then try reading Ellen White's teaching on other doctrine like "Soul Sleep". That way you won't have just part of their belief!

Let's see if we can reason this together. These verses found in the Bible in the NT all say the same thing, that Jesus rose on the "first day" of the week, Mat 28:1, Mark 16:2,9, Luke 24:1, and John 20:1. So there shouldn't be much argument there.

Then in John 20:19, it says plainly that Jesus met with the disciples

Then the same day at evening, being the "first day" of the week, when the doors were shut where the disiciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, "Peace be unto you".

So if Jesus met with the disciples on the evening of first day of the week after he had just arose from the grave, It doesn't seem like the Catholics got that wrong to do likewise.

And then the Bible also says that Paul preached to the disciples on the "first day" of the week in Acts 20:7,

And upon the "first day" of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow, and continued his speech until midnight.

So now the Bible confirms that the disciples met and came together to break bread on the "first day" and were preached to. If it was good enough for them to meet on the first day and be preached to, shouldn't that be good enough for us all to assemble, jc?

CH,

You are wasting your time trying to give Jim "Links" Lincoln any advice. I think he must be a salesman on commison for the NASB and could possibly even one of the writers.

People like Jim Lincoln who live in Neraska are known for being "corny" and we know he certainly is full of it, corn that is, with all his links. From now on, I am going to vote for Lincoln, Nebraska to become the "links' capitol of the USA instead of St. Louis, Mo. the next time they vote for it.

Keeping with the topic, there is a very good diet out now called "The New Garlic Diet". You don't lose any weight, but you look thinner from a distance!

Well I am surprised that one hour has gone by and Jim Lincoln hasn't responded with a rebuke about my stewardship and some "links" to uphold his reasons.

Maybe his pastor hasn't spoken about Stewardship recently and his memory is fuzzy or maybe his computer could still be still frozen after God sent a blizard to Lincoln, Nebraska for their ungodly behaviour or whatever!

It is the time of the year when I suppose I should be a little more charitable with Mr. Lincoln because of his commenting on Sa and posting "links" is pretty much all this poor fellow has to live for. And that isn't much of a life

The atoning work of Bethlehem's gift walked thirty-three years down the dusty roads of Judea, but the hope of the redeemed is that we live in the Rapture Eve, awaiting Rapture Day! Eternity's day is about to miraculously unfold, and through the bright light of Heaven's glow, we shall see Him, the Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords! For, "...we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is:" (1John 3:2b KJV).

Tim Green, Revival in Our Time evangelist and editor of the Baptist Bread for Dec. 26, 2009

Now the "Happy Holidays" stores have "After Christmas" sales and all "Christmas" related material like gifts, toys, candy, cards, etc. are 50% to 75% off!!!

I'm Bipolar, which means "When it's polar bear weather season, I go out and buy!" So let the real "serious" shopping begin!!!

"Three Days In December: The Day After Christmas"

"But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart." Luke 2:19 (KJV)

The day after Christmas is always a little depressing and understandably anti-climatic. Friends and relatives have come and gone. Tinsel, wrapping paper, and pretty bows are now trash. Gifts being returned at the mad house called the Mall. Life slowly treads its way back to "normal.' But if we would be honest, everyday since Christmas is a better day. Memories like majic return us to the revelry and rejoicing that day.

Every day since Christ came has been a better day for this old world. Jesus Christ is the gift that truly keeps on giving. Jesus Christ is the gift that "one-size fits-all," and once He has been given, no one ever takes back or exchanges. The Babe in Bethlehem's manger was wrapped with love and given to mankind. Even though He was eventually delivered to Calvary, it magnifies the majestic truth-"For God so loved the world, the He gave His only begotten Son...(John 3:16 KJV)
