In this series of message, brother Marvin makes the case that "To grow in grace is to mature in your knowledge and understanding of the grace of God, as well as the God of all grace. Over and over again, brother Don would reference Jer 3:15, as well as Isaiah 40:1. The sheep of God are comforted when the man God send preaches teaching them with knowledge and understanding, which is how we are saved and grow in grace. That burden applies to Romans 14 as well as "declares the Lord. “I loved Jacob, but Esau I hated" (Rom 9:3). We hear that free-will preachers cut-around Rom 9:3 when they preach their gospel. Sovereign grace preachers should never ignore preaching concerning the believers attitude as given by God the Holy Spirit in Romans 14. May our GOD supply the need on this neglected topic.

This message is extremely important for the believer, as it encourages us to think about our brethren in the same terms as CHRIST has demonstrated HIS love towards us. This is a critical and pivotal exhortation on our attitude and conversation with others in our local assembly. We cannot hail and lift up our GOD as the Giver of Grace, who has sovereignly placed HIS people together in the local church, and fail to take to heart what brother Marvin has preached and taught in this series of message. His flock are most blessed by his care and faithfulness.

“ A Sermon timely Sermon ”
Brothers Scott Richardson (1981) and Henry Mahan (1982) were provoked by our LORD to preach on Romans 14 (Christian Liberty) as it relates to attitude of believers within the Body of the local flock. Yes, we are all taught of GOD however, our GOD has chosen preaching as the means (2Tim 3:16-17). Not until 2008 has any such message been preached. That's 27 long years; much too long & regrettable. In his message, brother Marvin in dealing with the attitude, makes it crystal clear that the teaching in Romans 14 is not undermining the Gospel of Gods free grace. And in his message brother Clay makes the point using Rom 14:17 whereby, if the strong use alcohol or tobacco as a “free-grace test” (my words) then, the stronger brother is actually manifesting he is the weaker as well as the uncharitable one. That is strong meat! Now if growth in grace is p/o the preaching ministry (2 Tim 3:16-17) then, failing to preach from Rom 14 deprives the believer of that which is needful in his growth in grace.

This message by brother Frank is such an encouragement to the church as well as the believer because he makes clear what the Gospel or the testimony of God is in simple terms. Minutes 34:25-36:05 ummoned in my mind this word: “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” which immediately brought this word:”even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God”, When Christ comes and makes His abode in the sinner there are certain things that He makes known (obvious) to His beloved; when He comes to the sinner He makes manifest-that is, He reveals HIMSELF and the Gospel or as brother Frank stated He convinces us whereby we agree and confess that we now have been made to “see” it's obvious that righteousness is His obedience not ours; that putting sin away is by His Precious Blood; and true rest is found in Him not in a special day or a special work or a special pray or anything else to do with the sinner concerning their salvation. As brother Don would say … God calls that faith and repentance toward God. Amen”

I so desire that GOD grant unto me "first a willing mind" so that as our brother Clay has given to us much, in his preaching and exhortation, to hear, think, meditate upon, as it becometh saints, that thus same GOD would grant us the grace, the strength and the enablement to walk in the good works prepared for us by GOD, as HE teaches us the liberty we have in JESUS CHRIST to love HIS own as HE has love each of us.

As brother Clay preaches the excellencies of Christ Jesus may we possess a heart knowledge in knowing that that HE who keeps Israel (the Israel of God) neither slobbers nor sleeps; HE said "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world". And let us not the words of our Lord when HE said: "I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil". HIS Father hears HIM at all times, and will not the Father, who is well pleased with His SON, answer HIS prayer: "to keep us from evil".

A timely and necessary message, by brother Paul, for believers in every age, and at any age. Recommend these messages "Our Conversation is in Heaven" (2001) and "The Saints Conversation" (2018), which teach us with knowledge and understanding how to walk as becometh saints, as we live and move and have our being in this world mindful that we are walking before our King and Father constrained by the love of our Blessed Savior Jesus Christ. Our brother the apostle Paul wrote this: "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21). The words of this verse are weighty; easily read or quoted however, this is the very heart desire of our new man though our old nature prevents perfection yet, His Spirit beareth witness with my spirit that I am born of God, Oh, that my conversation would becometh a saint but not for acceptance with God rather because I want to please my Father for He has declared me justified and acceptable.

What a simple yet convincing message for the children of God, which is needful. We are not the frozen chosen walking in this world like robots. We have been regenerated, by the power of God, hence we walk consciously (in our minds and in this body of flesh) no more as children of darkness rather we endeavor to "abstain from all appearance of evil" not to merit or prove our acceptance before God our Father rather because of CHRIST, we are constrained by HIS love hence, we walk by faith with a conscience sprinkled by the BLOOD of CHRIST so that "whatsoever we do, we do all to the glory of God" freely not by constraint of Law. This does not repudiate or abuse "grace" nor it mean :progressive sanctification". JESUS has made us free and we have liberty to do "whatsoever" (context Philippians 4:8). This "whatsoever" is under the dominion of CHRIST so that, "whatsoeveris not of faith in sin".

WOW! A very very challenging sermon; never a man sake like him and some might walk “with him no more”. The freedoms preached in this sermon are actually challenges; an impossibility for the natural man & a liberty that the carnal mind cannot receive. Only those who are in Christ can freely walk in the liberty (the fruit) brother Clay declares. Galatians 5:13a “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh” and we can link the context of this verse to 1Jn 2:16. And, when we sin (and we shall) we have an Advocate Jesus Christ the Righteous. We have liberty to serve Christ Jesus because the love of Christ constrains us, and we are under Grace; the mouth of the Law and the court of Justice is shut, and can not bring a charge against our blood-sprinkled conscience ,and we now serve with freedom and liberty because HE has made us acceptable to HIS Father. We are priests & kings; heirs with Christ. God forgive me though I can write this comment yet I fall short of even doing a tithe of what I wrote. God give me the grace to serve HIM as preached here in this message.

Appreciate the labor of brother Frank in bringing this message, which compliments his other message "Be an Imitator of God". The LORD teaches HIS children that they are free and have liberty in actually striving to please their Father not for acceptance but because we love HIM. Can you imagine waking, working, eating, vacationing, making money, sleeping or relaxing (all efforts and decisions we make; you could say works of the flesh in that sense). When we make a purchase or take a vacation do we ever state that it's "done in Christ" hence, no need to travel to the mall, or airport because HE has "done" that for us? Yet, when the preacher declares that we ought to consider our "walk" in reading or loving our brother then, that is construed as taboo or preaching works? We are free and have liberty to please our Father in everything (reading, breathing and glorying in the liberty HE has secured for us) - Ecc 9:7

This message by brother Frank is needful and encouraging. The relationship between a child and Father is not an obligation or a duty. Faith worketh by love hence, we strive to walk before our God and Father as HIS children not for acceptance; our Representative and King is our acceptance before HIS Father however, as we walk in this world, we are not mahicans or statues; we are made free to please our Father even though it is mixed with sin. A message by brother Curtis on 2-26-2009 compliments the same exhortations made in this message. God's men declare or speak the same things for our comfort and growth in grace.

HE is the strength and life of HIS people .... "fear not thou worm Jacob" .... HE has put us in the ROCK of our salvation, and God keeps us standing on that ROCK. I will rejoice in the LORD. I will joy in the God of my salvation who hath given us beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness that we might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that HE might be glorified. May brother Clay continue preaching and directing us to CHRIST!
