Yes, Frank and Ladybug.... Good comments. What a sad thing for her to have lived such a life of self sacrifice, caring for the physical needs of the poor. Yet she did not give them the truth of the gospel which could have nurtured their souls.
Yes, Frank, when we were on a mission trip to Madagascar, we did see first hand how the RCC "converted" the people but did not require that they give up their animism and ancestral worship. This, of course, did not result in changed lives and spiritual rebirth.

I have learned so much from this man. He has been greatly used by God in rightly expounding the scriptures. If u haven't listened to his sermon on why he is going to Africa, it is very good (easily found in the staff picks area). Interesting thought, Pennny.

I wonder if that was the headline running on the front page of the Assyrian Daily Post and the Babylon Times circa 722 and 586 BC???

Keep hold of instruction; do not let go;
guard her, for she is your life. Prov. 4:13. I love this verse in relation to the education of my children. As Christian parents, we are very careful to provide them with a solidly biblical education and worldview. In humility, we also realize that we need God's grace each moment. It is unfortunate that people judge homeschoolers based upon who they know that do it poorly or with wrong motivations. Also, sometimes a self righteous attitude can be emitted b/c homeschoolers spend so much time having to defend themselves to naysayers, that the natural progression is to be defensive. Before judging someone who looks differently than us, we should first examine ourselves as to whether we are being apathetic towards the knowledge and instruction entering our and our children's minds. Do you know what your kids are being taught? Just b/c a school is Christian also doesn't mean you are off the hook as a parent. Many people judge without prayerfully even evaluating their own responsibilities in child rearing. As this verse indicates, our lives depend upon getting the right instruction.

This is completely off topic (so I ask your forgiveness in advance).... But has anyone else had problems with the upgrade version 4.1.1? I don't update apps very often, but did on my iPhone yesterday. Since then, my iPhone app won't let me view the news, search sermons, or download sermons. Sometimes it will load up the homepage and home news page, but after that there is no functionality within the app??? Any suggestions? I rebooted my phone, I have not deleted the app and reloaded it as I do not want to lose my downloaded sermons.... Help? I'm glad I didn't update the iPad!

Is it just me or is there some fallacy in their logic of a cremation experience helping then deal with death? I'm fairly certain those who are cremated in China are already DEAD... So I'm not sure I follow their psychological reasoning on this one?!? It is interesting that this experience is simulating burning as I couldn't help but think of the torment and the fires of hell....

I would feel terrible if it were from my cooking. However, maybe the culprit dish was something somebody bought at the local grocery store. Our church has a fellowship meal between morning and afternoon services every week. It is a blessing!

Thanks, MS... My parents also left the RCC... However, my brother married a very staunch catholic and he refuses to lead his family towards another church because he doesn't want to fight with his wife. However, those in our family who have left generally fail to see and speak against the dangerous teachings and doctrines of the RC. My mother in law is still RC, but she is not a devout catholic. There is no spiritual interest or life in her at all... Regardless of where she attends. Unfortunately, around here Catholicism is as much of a "genetic" heritage as it is a religion. Leaving the RC is akin to turning your back on your heritage and ancestors....

When I was little, I defended (as John) the RCC. I did not think that I/we were worshiping Mary... All the while saying my "Hail Marys", and showing interest in learning about the patron saint for ________ (whatever need/want I had). My mom made us say the rosary if we got in trouble traveling during vacations. I never thought that praying to a dead person was worshiping them... Even though the Catholic Church does call it veneration... I'm glad the spirit opened my eyes. I'm also glad that while I was raised RC, at least my family wasn't militant in their devotion to that organization. It is a very deceptive cult. I do believe that there are some in the RCC who are saved. But I also believe that most who are will come out or will be hamstrung spiritually. I have a hard time believing that any of the leadership are saved tho. I thing most of the congregants are oblivious to most of the teaching and simply go thru the motions. That is not true of leadership... They know exactly what the RCC teaches.

IMHO, US...My mother was a teacher and administrator for 40 years. While they may have to entertain complaints, they do not educate the kids based upon what the parent wants. If I showed up at school and requested my child be educated in the fear of the Lord, they would not comply. Also, complaints generally follow the event. You can't "unwatch" a movie, "unhear" a story, or "unread" a book. Ideas have already been planted in the mind. What they are taught and how classrooms are managed has nothing to do with parents. It is not dictated by a parental vote. Listening to a complaint is far different than allowing parents to dictate how and what their child is taught. Again, this is decided upon by a central power and enrolling your child transfers your authority over to the "professionals".
As far as it being free... Yes, we pay for it with taxes. However, that doesn't mean we get a say either. I don't want my tax $$ to pay for abortions etc... But nobody asks me where I would like the govt to spend it...
I agree that most parents don't care or have never thought about it...

I'm not trying to be unsympathetic towards these parents... But really, what do you expect? I hope that these kinds of stories serve to wake parents up from our apathy and begin a mass exodus from the government schools.

Newsflash- when you enroll your kids in a govt school ( or any other activity, trip, camp, etc..), you are giving up your authority over your children during the scheduled hours of that institution. You have no control over how or what they are taught, exposed to, or disciplined. Education is not neutral. You are either for Christ or against Christ. The government doesn't exactly try to hide its agenda, so it shouldn't come as a surprise when pagan agendas cloaked in the name of tolerance come to light.

What is surprising is that parents expect the government to teach, discipline, feed, and babysit their kids and then complain about what they were or weren't taught... Or complain that they weren't informed about something. You signed away that right when you enrolled your child.
The good news is that parents have other options such as homeschooling, where you have control over what you are renewing your child's mind with. It is not easy, but the minds of the next generation are worth the sacrifice. We American Christians should spend less time trying to have the latest cars, houses, video games, fancy vacations, and striving towards early retirement, and focus more time on raising our kids in the fear and nurture of the Lord.

I'm not trying to be unsympathetic towards t

The old regulations would inhibit many from joining the service, I'm sure. A trip to Walmart or the mall is like going to a tattoo parlor's exhibition anymore. And who will define "extremist, racist, or sexist"?

Yes, Frank. I agree. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, but our "culturally relevant" churches/church goers twist even the most obvious scriptures into whatever they want them to say to support whatever their flesh wants to do. Heaven forbid that we label anything short of mass murder as sin. It's no wonder we fight over "gray areas" of scripture... We can't even get the "black and white" passages right....

Right on, Pennned. Those who don't learn history are bound to repeat it. Great example of using Russia. But is that fact even common knowledge....? NO!!! I have a doctorate plus several hours towards a masters degree and never once learned any of this stuff until homeschooling my kiddos... I'll add another example: during the depression, our govt had much surplus grain that they chose not to distribute despite their citizens starving. The US govt hasn't exactly been the infallible "good guy" that has been portrayed in the textbooks.

And a big "thumbs up" for Joel Salatin. He is an excellent example and resource!!

Forced wealth redistribution never results in equality and harmony. Rather it exemplifies Orwell's "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely..."

Even though I already "know" the views that Sanger had, it still is naseating to actually read what she said/wrote.

Morning, Frank... I can't picture Hillary baking cookies. Sadly, I have an aunt that falls into that same category, but her comments on expecting her to cook/bake wouldn't be appropriate to post on SA...

Haven't read Jim's link yet, but I wonder if the other pilot suddenly died of a heart attack, stroke, whatever.... while the first pilot was out of the cockpit?? Tragic....

The families of the victims are in my prayers.
