R. K. Borill wrote: Liza J, I know you will appreciate the sound doctrine form this old hymn (especially the second verse) Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me Text: Augustus M. Toplady, 1. Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee; let the water and the blood, from thy wounded side which flowed, be of sin the double cure; save from wrath and make me pure. 2. Not the labors of my hands can fulfill thy law's commands; could my zeal no respite know, could my tears forever flow, all for sin could not atone; thou must save, and thou alone. 3. Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling; |

Fernando Matro wrote: Jesus Christ personally taught St. Paul the literal meaning of the Eucharist in 1 Cor 11:23-29. I challenge Mike Gendron or any ex-Catholic to prove Jesus Christ and St. Paul wrong, to attend Mass and receive the holy Eucharist. Let me know if you have done so. HERESY |

penny wrote: the whole set up is twisted. traditional approach was father apprenticing son, and daughters remaining under protection of father until marriage. son now had source of income and could set up a home. then he would marry a young lady younger than himself. they could then have a family. now we "school" them until 18, send then off to college for 4 years where they cannot cook/clean for themselves and learn the skills of homelife. they end up with debt that generations before never knew. the two meet in college, have sorts of debt, and then face a declining job market, abysmal figures for hiring college grads, and woman then pressured to work instead of having kids to get financial stability. the system is a pitfall to moral living. when our elders get wind of this, they can start being more of a support. for instance some are starting to help place their youth in apprenticeship style jobs instead of the college track, keeping them home to save costs and building them up. Yep! right on penny! |
