For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. II Timothy 4:3-4
These people aren't Christians departing from core truths, they are unbelievers who have turned away from the truth of God's word!
It's unfortunately not unheard of that some of these Christian leaders go on these lavish vacations on yachts. Jerry seemed a little to comfortable putting his arm around that lady in her short shorts.
I read a separate article about how some people won't want to go back even if some of the closed churches do open. Church attendance will go down because of Covid, but those who remain are more committed to obeying Christ which can only be a good thing.
I think someone like Beth Moore becomes an issue because of all of the divisions within churches now a days. You used to go to church and all would gather in the same place to hear the pastor preach God's Word. Now people are herded into groups to hear specialized sermons. There's usually an elderly group, a ladies group, singles group, married group, divorced group, etc. and all of these groups tend to have a "leader" like themselves to represent them. So a ladies group often times has a lady teacher/preacher. Then they go to the main worship service in their little group instead than being as one body, they are somewhat divided. The pastor ask Beth to come up and speak about the women's ministry and the next thing you know a lady is preaching to the congregation.
I was going to say, what has Tebow ever said that would have been considered that convicting to get banned from Twitter?! I'm sure quoting from the Bible is enough to do it now a days. However, most of these Christian celebrities have positive thinking messages only and nothing is said about sin.
They are all for freedom, as long as it fits their ideology. Otherwise, no. They used to complain they didn't have the freedom to be who they really were and now they try to suppress any freedom from people who want to escape that lifestyle.
Ken from the Old South isn't going to rise again...
Far from my imagination getting the best of me, the Ordinance of Secession is a very real document and explains why the rebels, in their own words, seceded from the United States. Whether they even had a right to is up for debate. However, they clearly did it to save the institution of slavery. Not having qouted Scripture, I am confused by your rant on interpretation.
Slave owners are condemned, hate to burst your bubble. Not to mention God's teachings on loving your neighbor. There was nothing Godly about slavery in America or the Rebels who tried to preserve it!
If you want to romanticize over the side which lost by God's sovereign decree, that's your prerogative!
Go read the Confederate Ordinance of Secession.
SC stated, "A geographical line has been drawn across the Union, and all the States north of that line have united in the election of a man to the high office of President of the United States, whose opinions and purposes are hostile to slavery." Them boys didn't much appreciate ol Abe! They drew a line across America and said this is now ours for the cause of slavery!
The rebels confiscated land that once belonged to the United States of America and proclaimed it the Confederate States. America went to war to retrieve her land and put an end to slavery. It doesn't matter when the slave trade ended if there were still slaves being bought and sold. What's yoir point?
Slavery and all that went along with it was more in line with Satan than with the Lord.
You are whitewashing it a bit. The important way of life which you speak of is slavery and they were willing to confiscate a large portion of the United States and kill Americans to protect the slave trade.
