I was younger than ten years old when I started being exposed to pornographic magazines. It was common growing up in the 1970's and early 1980's to visit (with parents, or at friend's houses) people who kept pornographic magazines on the back of their toilets. My best friend's dad kept them on the back of the toilet, and I have known a number of people who grew up with pornography magazines in bathrooms, sitting around the house, or other places children might find them.

I can tell you that it is astounding as a small child to learn that your Dad looks at other women naked besides your Mom who loves and takes care of you, and the household. I found my Dad's box of Playboy magazines in my parent's closet when I was small. I used to play dress-up with my parents clothes, because I wanted to be just like them. And, I thought the best place to hide the wooden spoons (so I wouldn't get spanked with them) was in the back of my parent's closet. I was bound to find the magazines. These and many other instances I have gone through have caused untold damage and shame even now.

Jesus said to the woman caught in the act of adultery: "Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more..." Jesus did not enter the world to condemn, but to save sinners. Yet, men and women have a responsibility to repent and turn away from their sins, and seek to be born of water and the Spirit.

"Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord."

— Psalm 25:7 King James Version (KJV)

"Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness."

— Proverbs 30:20mKing James Version (KJV)

"And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire."

— Matthew 3:10 King James Version (KJV)

"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

— Matthew 7:16-20 King James Version (KJV)

"If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain."

— James 1:26 King James Version (KJV)

— James 1:27 King James Version (KJV)

The Huffington Post will huff, and puff, and blow our house down! Ooops wrong story!

"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:"

— Matthew 7:24-26 King James Version (KJV)

Through the grace of God, my husband and I will have our 25th wedding anniversary this summer!

"The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?"

— Matthew 19:3-5 King James Version (KJV)

Jessica, I understand your thoughts completely. But, if I repeat what scripture says, then I am not judging anyone; the scriptures are. So, if scripture says that homosexuality is an abomination and those that practice those things will suffer the wrath of God; that is not me judging anyone.
Thanks for your comment
Thank you Frank,

I appreciate your thoughtful comments and I agree! I especially appreciate your not accusing me of things like condoning sin, or being content with sinners being sent to hell. It is comforting to have a discussion where we can discuss Scriptures in their relevancy to today's issues without accusing one another.

In Christ,
Many blessings to you!

Paul says: "For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges..."

Here is a link to 1 Corinthians 5, which explains how sexual immorality must be dealt with in regards to both God's people, and unbelievers:

Jesus commanded that The Gospel be preached to every living creature, and as believers we are hated for testifying that the world's deeds are sinful. Yet God's people do not have the authority to judge/punish sinners, because the sinless Saviour Who walked the earth and died for our sins, proclaimed He came not to destroy people's lives but to save them.

Murder a baby while in the womb an hour before he/she would have been delivered, and the world thinkks nothing of it. Murder that same baby an hour after he/she is delivered and the world comes together, gasping in horror that any human being is capable of such a terrible crime. The next day, it's all over the airwaves as the talking heads and news outlets, etc, make it the topic of the day, wondering what could have happened that made a person so cold and callous that they would be capable of such a thing...
I agree!

I would like to see more stories like this one (at the provided link) mixed in the SermonAudio news, because most of the news stories are about what's wrong with the world. There are many courageous people who love with God's love, and we need to be reminded of them. God bless!

The term, "to have an abortion," in the Tok Pisin language of Papua New Guinea is, "kilim pikinini long bel." Translated word for word: kilim (kill) pikinini (child/baby) long (at) bel (belly). It broke my heart when I read this years ago. So simply put, so true...

In my heart I wish the whole world believed on The Lord Jesus, and that everyone would have eternal salvation... My heart is broken that the world is under the sway of the enemy, loving darkness rather than light...

"For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God."

— Romans 5:7-9 English Standard Version (ESV)

"The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life; but he that obeyeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him."

— John 3:35-36 American Standard Version (ASV)

I just went to the Tiffany's website, and you can buy a pair of 18k gold cuff links for CDN3,850 just in time for Father's Day. It may have now occurred to Mr. Graham not to do business with Tiffany's (a high priced jewellery store), but for me a disabled Christian in relative poverty, I have never had the means to do business with them...

The companies that Mr. Graham is talking about withdrawing from, are large corporations. As for me, I don't think I'll need to make the choice to withdraw large accounts from one corporation, or stop shopping at an expensive jewellery store that is renowned for its exclusivity.

I went all out today and put on my wedding band (the hubby and I went out together), and wore my bracelet that cost me 50 cents, lol!

I think murder is the most heinous act to the the human mind, because we are able understand the finality of a life lost/ended. It is horrifying and grotesque and devastating with unfathomable consequences. Yet, I, a person who has struggled with anger, is no different than a murderer in God's eye's (Matthew 5:21-22). This astounds me, and makes me ever so humbled at the magnitude of my sin. No, I have not committed the physical act of murder, but for years I have been struggling with unforgiveness, anger, and hating others. I have even felt justified because I have been mistreated. How is it then that Christ died to save murderers, haters, the abominable, and the seemingly forever damned? Have you ever seen someone sin or mistreat you and you said to yourself, "You know what? this person's soul is in danger of everlasting punishment, I think I would like to die for their sin and save them"? This is what Christ did for us!

The wages of sin is death, and just as Adam and Eve did not immediately see their death, the process of death was not only in their flesh but in their spirit. Thus, the sin nature was born, and now we seek to be born again — not of the corruptible seed of man, but the incorruptible nature of God through Christ Jesus.

The Lord Christ Jesus says: "condemn not and you shall not be condemned." How can we judge if according to the Scriptures, compassionate women, "boiled their own children"? (Literal Translation, Lamentations 4:10). Are we not walking in days of destruction? Should we not see what is abhorrent, and declare God's mercy upon those who are guilty? Is this not The Good News of the Gospel?

You and I do not know the mental state of this dear young woman, whom Christ died to save from sin with His everlasting lovingkindness. With truth, is not her wee one lifted up by and unto God's Hand? "Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save?" How God sees our wretchedness, and still sends His only begotten Son to die for the remission of our sins, when we are hardly compassionate to one another? this I do not know...

"The hands of the compassionate women
Have cooked their own children;
They became food for them
In the destruction of the daughter of my people."

— Lamentations 4:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

The teaching of forbidding to marry is false doctrine and has been taught by The Roman Catholic Church for hundreds of years. The RCC has not taken heed that forbidding to marry leads to sexual immorality.

"But, because of fornications, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband."

1 Corinthians 7:2 American Standard Version (ASV)

"Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth."

1 Timothy 4:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV)

It is alleged, the RCC policy has been reporting sexual abuse not to the police, but the Vatican. Moreover, that the Vatican has often been covering up sexual abuse at the highest level to the point of protecting paedophile priests in Rome.

Dear beloved, I am weary of after making posts on topic only to have them buried by seemingly useless arguments, and people being offended by one another.

My blessed friends in the Lord, the following are commandments not suggestions:

"A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

— John 13:34-35 American Standard Version (ASV)

"These things I command you, that ye may love one another."

— John 15:17 American Standard Version (ASV)

"Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy: but I say unto you, love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you; that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust."

— Matthew 5:43-45 American Standard Version (ASV)

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

— Matthew 6:14-15 American Standard Version (ASV)
