"one new man in place of the two"

For he (Jesus) himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. - Ephesians 2:14-16

Some go so far as to celebrate the passover. Some of this seems led by dispensational
groups who heavily focus (imo too much) on israel. It is one thing to acknowledge the significance of these Jewish holidays, it is quite another to participate in them as if they had some present significance.

"Rome's version of Mary? The Catholic Church believes in the biblical and historical Virgin Mary and always has. The only Virgin Mary I have always believed in has been the biblical and historical Virgin Mary."

Immaculate Conception ( Catholic doctrine) is not biblical.

Evil? Really. Check your own thoughts. No saved person has perfectly pure thoughts. Care if we play a dvd showing the thoughts that run across your mind on a daily basis?

A person that struggled with lust or alcohol their whole life is never going to struggle with temptation when they are saved? The same goes for them.

There is a difference between attraction and carrying out behavior because of that attraction. There is a battle until we are glorified.

John Mackay wrote:
This is evil.Article 8 states that a saved person can experience attraction for the same sex.Not according to Romans 1 they cannot. The Authorized version states that they are given over to a reprobate mind.It is a progression in sin and God has rejected them ie they are reprobate. Thats what reprobate means-forsaken by God.

Those who profess such nonsense want to continue to breed division and race/class warfare. It is racism in disguise for the Asians and Indians that work hard and do well in STEM jobs or music owe nothing to so-called white privelege. Complainers basically deny the sovereignty of God and think Man is in control. Do your best and commit the rest.

Mesmerized by the sun, when
the Son is more glorious!

And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. - Matthew 17:2

"Those who've been drawn by God and born again by the Spirit WILL flee to Christ, but not because they exercised free will."

I agree. John 3.

I wince at those terms in a Gospel call and definitely take issue with those that hinge salvation on the sinners action.

Good article that brings up good questions.

Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." - Acts 16:30-31

While they did not say, 'Choose' or 'Make a decision' here, the concept is in there. The sinner must take action, otherwise, why call people to repent and believe? When we believe, that is what we see from our perspective, but Scripturally, the Spirit gives
life. Sovereign grace and human will intersection has tension in the Word. If you don't see it, then our biases are in control. Now, We don't say to people, 'Just wait for God to give you life and make you believe'. Is that Gospel invitation in Acts?

Soli Deo Gloria, regardless. I'm no fool to give credit to my salvation other than to God alone. Sola Gratia!

So easy we get sidetracked by Satan and our flesh to what is the root cause of sin and evil and the only cure.

2 Cor 5:17, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, John 3:16, Ephesians 2, Colossians 1, Titus 3, etc...

Preach about the loving and living God-Man.

Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, "This man receives sinners and eats with them." - Luke 15:1-2

To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings. - 1 Corinthians 9:21-23

Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there. - Acts 17:16-17

"No Other Name"

One name
Holds weight above them all
His fame
Outlasts the earth He formed
His praise
Resounds beyond the stars
And echoes in our hearts
The greatest One of all

His face
Shines brighter than the sun
His grace
As boundless as His love
He reigns
With healing in His wings
The King above all kings
The greatest One of all

Lift up our eyes, see the King has come
Light of the world reaching out for us
There is no other name
There is no other name
Jesus Christ our God

Seated on high, the undefeated One
Mountains bow down as we lift Him up
There is no other name
There is no other name
Jesus Christ our God

Find hope
When all the world seems lost
Behold
The triumph of the cross
His power
Has trampled death and grave
Our life found in His name
The greatest name of all

Lift up our eyes, see the King has come
Light of the world reaching out for us
There is no other name
There is no other name
Jesus Christ our God

Seated on high, the undefeated One
Mountains bow down as we lift Him up
There is no other name
There is no other name
Jesus Christ our God
Jesus

The earth will shake
And tremble before Him
Chains will break
As heaven and earth sing
Holy is the name
Holy is the name of
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
[x2]

Lift

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. - 2 Peter 2:1-3

False Dilemma:

The suggestion that to be in a denomination is that you are more intellectual and doctrinal than someone not in a denomination.

You can have a strong faith (with an even balance of the emotions because after all God works on the heart) regardless of being in a particular denomination.

My personal opinion is that I'd rather not be in a denomination because I'd rather just be a 'Christian'. I want to lead people to Christ and not to a denomination. Still, my doctrinal beliefs to tend to one particular belief set ~ New Covenant - but I will not lead with that. I'd instead focus on Biblical truths summarized by the 5 solas.

For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. - 1 Corinthians 1:26-29

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. - Romans 12:16-18

Helpful explanation of 1 Tim 1:8. David's resources help solidify the biblical view of the believer's non-relationship to the law (of Moses). It is so clear and freeing. Galatians 3 is the clincher.

Glad CMP is doing this. America has no moral high ground. Hypocrisy. Abortion, pornography, racism, sexism, legal prostition, etc. And we know it will get worse. Don't put your hope in America, hope in Jesus.

And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation." - Acts 2:40

And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. - 1 John 2:17

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, - Ephesians 5:11-13

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, saying, "We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man's blood upon us." But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men. - Acts 5:27-29

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation. - 1 Peter 2:9-12

ABC News Radio wrote:
“We struggle to comprehend the warped and twisted mind that sees a room packed with young children not as a scene to cherish but as an opportunity for carnage,” May said Tuesday.

The unbeliever struggles to understand. The believer understands because apart from God's grace he would be just like them.

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience- - Ephesians 2:1-2

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. - Titus 3:3

And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, - Colossians 1:21
