Well, sir your Confession of Faith explains alot of things. We may have some none opposing views. But you and I would disagree on the fundamentals of the faith.

'Democratic political message firm says, Ryan's budget cuts are not Christian. And what's been going on for decades is this unholy alliance between Christians, libertarians, and big business.'

It never ceases to amaze me all the different definitions of what constitutes Christianity in the Media. But that can hardly be suprising when we can't get the visible Church clearly identified among those who profess the fundamentals of the doctrine of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ, being the chief corner stone. Is it any wonder the Church at this time is being built in obsurity? Yet even so, the gates of hell will not prevail against her, for she is kept by the power of God.

"Despite their concerns, at least 95 percent of parents have their children vaccinated while only 5 percent skip some of the vaccines. Only 2 percent say they would avoid vaccines altogether.

Parental uncertainty over vaccinations means there is a continuing need for reassurance and education about the necessity of getting kids immunizied, the CDC said."

jpw, I would probably tend to agree with your: "I wonder why."; but the article seemed to say that it was because the parents were weak and fearful and needed to be better educated by the experts of 'science so called' that Paul refers to in 1 Timothy 6:20.

Sounded like a politician to me. When he said: "That's their choice; I believe it is a choice". That broken hedge left it open to be considered, (according to one's bias), what he meant by that. Either they chose to sin and they made that choice or this is a free country and it is their choice to sin freely. Really? That doesn't say much for the Civil sphere in any nation when that is what their 'best candidates' have to say about their responsibility to preserve the freedom of her citizens. It is their job to assist them to be righteous 'in Christ'. That is the job of both God ordained institutions, a Gospel Ministry and a Scriptural Magistracy. The job of the Civil sphere is to protect the true religion it's preaching and teaching as well as all the nations citizens who have come to find refuge under the wings of the Almighty Son of God; David's son and David's Lord. Freedom without righteousness is lawlessness.

Very few are concerned when God's people are persecuted or put to death. Nothing new under the sun.
That has been the historic testimony of the true church of Jesus Christ for the whole of His Story, and all these members of Christ are known to Him, even in times where things are so confused; that they are hardly known to one another.

I commend to you Psalm 116 an example of God's deliverance of David in his extremity and the assurance that their lives are precious to HIM!!! Even if men forget to pray; our Mediator does not.

My concern was this statement in the artcile: "The Rev. Tony Flannery, a Redemptorist priest and member of the liberal Association of Catholic Priests, says local and global trends have put the question of religion and secularism on the agenda across Europe.

“Pope Benedict talks a lot about secularism in Europe. He would see Christianity, and Catholicism specifically, as in conflict with it. Ireland, meanwhile, is in ferment with the Catholic Church in disarray and an enormous amount of the population looking for answers elsewhere,” he said.

Father Flannery says worries about the Pope's conservative agenda may be overstated: “I don’t think Pope Benedict is having any great influence. The Catholic church is quite weak across Europe.”

This is not a new schism in Rome. It would appear a victory for the other color side.

I have an honest inquiry Mike. In 1 Tim 5 Paul gives an age of three score; for an older widow and the reason for so doing. Do you think Titus was thinking about a cut off age as well? or being less specific? Can I infer that your reference to Titus in quotes at the end "of things which become sound doctrine" also had a purpose? Were you differentiating between the two kinds of instruction that of aged women verses the ordained ministry of Titus?

I refrained from comment on this article yesterday and I later noticed I might have offended jpw with my use of black and white, with reference to my concerns.

After reading this article, recalling something else I read here in one of the threads; then while realizing that both were occurring this past weekend in the UK; I will say this
that the Roman Republic in all its many faces, is alive and well and as dangerous as ever. Anyone who is not aware of the subtleties of the serpent should be warned before they need to encounter the wrath of the dragon. Familiarity with Scripture and Historic Testimony will be very helpful.

We need to pray for the Christians in the UK

I don't know everything Calvin said, he was a productive writer, but I am familiar with what he wrote on head coverings and modesty and I believe you have misquoted him SteveR.

But in essence, he did say that the lack of subjection to God's ordained authorities demonstrated by a woman in her 'shamefacedness' 1 Tim. 2:9 (Strongs G127 a sense of shame or honour, modesty, bashfulness, reverence, regard for others, respect) would in time lead to an unbecoming boldness and impropriety in their dress.

Calvin was usually balanced in his Scriptural requirements for both men and women, but he definitely regarded the women as the weaker vessel and preached to her accordingly.

My error, sorry. My comment should not be directed to CT, nor David Levinsky, the writer of the article posted on SA. No, It appears you meant the BBC article, my confusion, I wasn't reading carefully enough, nor did I go to the link you posted. I was just trying to recall my last read through of the article.

Definition; from 'American Dictionary of the English Language' Noah Webster 1828 (staunch Republican)

"cabal: To unite in a small party to promote views by intrigue; to unite in secret artifices to effect some design."

The poster is not referring to the article, no hint of anti-Semitic world view there. These comments seem directed at the mixture of truth and error now common to all nations (and evidenced by the multiplicity of dialogs and arguments here) that have a vast variety of cabals; who then together try to form a government. Confusion reigns.

Isaiah 58:9 "Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;"

It is the Church and their families that have in history lead the way. I once 20 + years ago now, had a brother draw me a picture that demonstrated on a graph, as goes the nation so goes the Church. At the time it seemed right to me. I now find myself saying as goes the Church, so goes the nation. I believe it is right to say; It is essential that both these two institutions be separate but complimentary for the Scripture well explains what happens when it doesn't in Psalm 12

The article said: "Moe told me that didn’t bother her. She was happy to embrace the contradiction" She won't be for long if she is really a Christian, otherwise she probably is a hybrid.

Also,it stated "Our congregation has made a decision to engage with people creating hybrid identities out of Judaism and other sources... Over the doors of our building, are etched the words of the prophet Isaiah: “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people” (Isaiah 56:7). We take this seriously.

So do I, and he has rent the Scripture, as so many do, for political or ecclesiastical correctness. Paul addresses this in Ephes. 2 and Romans 11. Christ and truth is not subtracted, in either of Paul's arguments. When the Jews he longed for, and acknowledged as a nation and culture, come to Christ in greater numbers by believing the Old and New Testaments, then the Church will be in better condition, then heretofore. But our confused elder sister is not safe to follow at this time, though she may be brought to jealousy once the Church in heaven has a public testimony again in her posterity's restored zeal and obedience to the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus, which is the Spirit of prophecy. Rev.11

The article states: "The state argues that there is “no record that PPIN makes any effort to either segregate Medicaid reimbursements from other unrestricted revenue sources or to allocate the cost of its various lines of business, whether abortion, family planning, cancer screenings, or other services.”

This would seem to suggest that abortion is the only evil that state acknowledges at this time. In recent posts here, it has been a general consensus that the family planning of PP was contrary to the Scripture and therefore wrong. I can guarantee that I could go on to tell you way everything they do is contrary to the Scripture.

But again I stress, though these are serious 2nd table of the Moral Law violations, man against man. These are not to be compared with first table violations against God. The states are pretty silent about that. They have to be. If we will not admit as a nation that we are not atheists nor polytheistic pagans; then in reality we are. This is contrary to the whole of Scripture. See Matt.10:32-34; Romans 12:3-5 for starters.

Mike says vote, I say vote not until our Constitution acknowledges Jesus Christ as Lord or deny Jesus Christ and he will deny you.

I refer to the Christian Sabbath, or the Lord's Day and Yehoshua (see Joshua 24 and Psalm 22) is Lord of the Sabbath and it was made for man. It's good for me to rest in the person of the Son of God, both His Creation and Redemption. This day is made for the good of my body and soul. To delight in the Lord and all his doings. You don't want to do that?

God's one state solution was not what I saw on the You tube video last evening. It was a bit of a twist from the Scripture. I am being to see it is a well thought out plan; No doubt, if any one is paying attention? But not in agreement with my understanding of the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testament or what I have learned from my historic teachers.

I did recommend some good reading to one of their leaders. No response.
