Gentile men oops! I meant Gentlemen Reading the article I see too much confusion of terminology.

Are they Presbyterian in name only? Couldn't be more obvious! I perceive the influences of Popery, Prelacy and Independency.

Sin left unaddressed, no matter whose will lead to blindness of their own sin, deadness of soul and formality and if there be any of the elect in that sad state, Fatherly discipline will follow. God's rod is effectual upon the bottom of all his elect one way or another.

Choose ye
Christ alone can say as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Joshua as a type of the Head of the Father's house could therefore say: Jos 24:19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
Jos 24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

Only in Christ can any keep covenant which all violations of the 3rd Commandment are. Take hold of Christ's righteousness and flee the wrath to come!
That's how I understand it.

The article states"Boehner, a devout Catholic, has been on a 20-year mission to bring a pope to the Capitol. The Ohio Republican has invited every leader of the Roman Catholic Church to Capitol Hill during his 24 years in Congress."

I don't know why I didn't already know this, probably because I'm biased against Rome and for Israel. Not that I think BN (note-not BM to avoid confusion)is more sound theologically. He's not and he is my enemy for the gospels sake. It's just that I know what has been believed by the Church and God has shown me hope in His Word.

Anyone who thinks it is a Democrat/ Republican/etc thing is devoid of the right knowledge and understanding of Scripture and History.

Still chopping tomatoes. I'm tempted to fearful unbelieving because since I lost and then left a job for conscience sake I've lived a strange life. From 2006-2009 it was on savings, and providence, then in 2009 I returned to my former home, to my ex husband and children, eating my words; I'd rather die than..Faced with that very real possibility by exposure, I submitted to male household consensus. I was given my own separate living space and I worked for keep. I learned to submit where I should and to what I could and could not. Oh I'm not stirring the chili sauce it will stick to the pot.

No men left any more. Unlikely I'll make it through another winter unless the Lord wills. Downsizing to me means eliminating weight in a 1806 post and beam with a leaking roof, two broken windows since last winter and rotten sills. I've been given two fish and seven loaves. Pray I'll sit down eat and be thankful and not care only about miracles that I don't see yet but trust I've already experienced them Christ died for me even me!

Get Real,

Ladies before gentlemen. I was exhausted from ALL day canning thinking about everything as I worked. The house smelled so good but it was very hot and humid. Tomato skins and seeds were everywhere. I was trying to remember which seeds were which as I gathered them up for next year D.V. I rose to the smell of chili sauce, concerned I didn't see a post from you before I retired for the night. Your post greeted me this morning. In another context I'd tell you what I've learned from life and Scripture, but this isn't it. Would have been nice to talk chopping tomatoes together, the way it should be.

Comment to your comment posted (conversation-like) we are chopping tomatoes and peppers, crying over onions and sin together: and I say: If we have faith that God will sustain us and it is saving faith (remember the demons believe and tremble); then we ARE being sustained by God! Praise the Lord for His unspeakable gift that is FREE, FREE, GRACE at the expense of the Blood of Jesus Christ, who loves all those the Father gave him . Listen to 'What does every sin deserve?' from Luke 23:44-46 it so helped me.

MS,

Are you sure 'be careful' (not me) is a fly in the ointment?

A little history from the former RB. There was in the 1980's a division in the RB Camp. I had learned from both pastors and respected both; Albert N. Martin and Walter Chantry, but I went with the A. N Martin side because of the relevance of the law for a believer's sanctification. My RB pastor had begun as a SB Convention Missionary and reformed, teaching us the doctrines of grace and place of the ML first from the WCF and later when a friendship formed with A. N. Martin the LBF 1689. Their were friendships between most in leadership of the reformed camp. I knew two brother's that were divided one going one way and the other the opposite. Divisions are not new, and they are usually about reformed doctrine, this has after all been going on for some time.

Sovereign Grace Church's are different so are the other side, all are Independents. Some sing only psalms, others do not. This I learned by experience. You see, you must study the Scripture for yourselves and then the issues are not a surprise to you for you already know what you believe from the word of God. A well established time of private and family worship morning and evening goes a long way to guide you in every change.

Christopher, I agree that man as a sinner carries a huge weight of sin that is lifted after conversion, even when quickened there are Fatherly corrective actions God takes with his children to conform them to their Elder Brother. Really think about these texts. Romans 8; Ps. 32

When I was a younger woman, I used to walk with a friend by a river. We lived in the city and it was the only real place to stretch our legs. We discussed these texts. One day it broke in on me that if the Spirit was interceding with unutterable groanings because he knew my heart like only God can though I didn't understand why God was doing what my flesh didn't like, I could trust that even the hardest of things were for my conformity to the word and will of God. God re-educates his people.

Does this make sense related to what you said?

Quick response Christopher: I've been listening and thinking concerning all you say for some time.

Two texts:
Tit 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: (Paul to Titus)
Tit 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Tit 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
Tit 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

1Ti 5:1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
1Ti 5:2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

read James 4

Find Scripture to support; Let go and let God.

Yes, pray on but remember praying in the Spirit must be in agreement with the teachings of Scripture. This I say because of your shared background with different doctrines.

Need to get back to down-sizing and canning.

Interesting article, broad topic for consideration. Discernment is best grounded on the word of God in a world of information. There is great variety in men's understanding of it, related to their view of the doctrine of Scripture.

I remember years ago being told you should not read anything even the news paper without prayer. What dependent creatures we are on the Creator and Redeemer?

The article states:"Having no parliamentary authority to expand airstrikes to Syria, the UK was initially restricted to surveillance flights over the country. Earlier this year, there was the revelation that RAF pilots embedded with the US air force were taking part in airstrikes in Syria.

Britain currently only operates drones over Iraq and Syria but the number flown over Syria appears to be increasing rapidly. According to Drone Wars, the proportion of drones over Syria belonging to the UK has increased from 10% in January to 40% in May."

Thought provoking article relative to the 6th trumpet/vial?

Get Real,
Since you came first to mind in the night watches, I rose to pray. I'll share my thoughts. Neither worry (to tease, trouble, harass) nor false teachers, which are the cause of chilled love, (Matt. 24:11-14) motivates to prayer. Physical illness also distracts and worries. But prayer is our life breath and Satan's distractions from it are endless.

Papal Rome's influence has brought down God's just displeasure, on this nation but he has promised Romans 8:25-31. I fear you and I as women, lacking male oversight that doesn't worry us, are cast on our Elder Brother to guide us and especially to keep us from false teachers. It's been my experience He is able.

Though I have not shared all your trials, we have economic trials in common. Jesus Christ is the Great Physician and sin bearer, rest in that. Our soul is a higher faculty than our bodies and assisted by the Holy Spirit, it can rise above it to Christ's healing power over body and soul. Compare Eccles. 4:1 with Rev.14:12. I know why you were misled by the you tube video, I believe you need more truth and a Guide. Ps. 25:9; 73:24.

I agree with Lurker that you need encouragement; I'm 'trying' to ask more questions. This is not the best way to unburden our hearts, but God is merciful. Read Psalm 37 &

Why did you find it interesting that I ... recommended Shawn?
Now that would be better known to God. My statement about divisions/ denominations being necessary to resolve is relative. I know him only from reading his blog. Since I've never spoken with the man, that is enough said.

KD became a public person over night and it is unlikely I will ever speak to her. I will say her deportment under fire prior to her arrest was commendable. I don't know why I was surprised to hear her gentlewoman southern voice in the news clip, she is after all from Kentucky. Her trial does not appear to be over.

Today I was thinking on James 4. I found it helpful to me in considering social issues.

Dan 7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; Dan 7:20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. Dan 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; ..

Dan 7:24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; (compare Rev. 17:11)and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

Historically, it has been taught that this little horn is also called the image of the Beast and believed to be the Pope of Rome, also referred to as the man of sin.

Mourner, For the life of me I can't remember our last conversation,
I'm referring to one Lord's Day you, Dorcas and I sought to show mercy one to another. Then you had watched something on You-Tube and things went down hill from there.

Memory problems can have a multitude of explanations. Now I associate panic with fear and inordinate fear with unbelief. Cure - the Blood of the Lamb.(repent) Rest in the promises. (believe) Here's one for you.

Isa 26:1-3 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Barney, I agree 'domestication' is a problem with sin in the domicile. That said I have a cat and a dog; only the dog by choice. Dog's are loyal, cats have staff. But I am aware of the problems, as well as the mercy in it. Sin destroys everything it overcomes.

Saints overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.

MS,

I agree our time is short and our day of service will soon be done, but whether you mean by Christ's eminent return, the shortness of lie's duration or something else, I know not. You have helped me over look offenses (which appear to have been mutual) by this brief exchange, for which I am thankful both to God and to you. I recall that you were my first greeter when I returned to the site after a long absence. Yes, friend will work for now, then I can hope for greater unity in the truth in time, if we share the same Way, Truth and Life. Ps.92:13-15

Get Real,
Appreciated your post to Dave and was encouraged to read it. Many times in my own life, I find it difficult to interpret God's providence. But since that is his secret counsel, it's understandable. It is struggle enough, in these perilous times, to think and do what is revealed. Deut.29:29

The Lord broke in upon one of those dark nights of the soul this morning in private worship, with a promise from Ezekiel. (2 Peter 1:2-11). It was a tender reminder his thoughts are not mine. They are so much higher. I am a critical thinker and my own worst critic. It's best to think on Christ's sympathies more then our sin. 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

I still think of our best dialogue. But it took a sudden turn and that confused me. Committing your health to the great Physician of both body and soul.

MS,
Appreciated your response. To our own Master we, each of us will stand or fall and the Lord is able to cause his servants to stand.

Do I see her imprisonment as unjust? Yes! Do I think God reigns over all? Yes! I cannot know her election, I'd have to be God. I can only try to understand her doctrine, before acknowledging her as a sister. I believe our doctrinal differences cause this misunderstanding. I believe she could be an errant new convert, but even four years in serious error is concerning, which Arminianism is.

It is also concerning to me that she has taken an oath that I could not take neither imply I would, that is how I lost my job, ergo home. One document I refused to sign had the word covenant in it and when I questioned it. The interviewer had to admit a misuse of the word, but the form remained unchanged. Nit pik?

It seems that you cast your weight on her side of the scale, but not mine. I really know little of what you believe. I know we agree only concerning Rome papal and some idolatrous practices, and disagree on covenant theology.
You are concerned for her body. It would seem even her enemies are (there were no hand cuffs). I desire the Lord use this for her soul. Fear not, 'little flock' means something.
