Gentile men oops! I meant Gentlemen Reading the article I see too much confusion of terminology. Are they Presbyterian in name only? Couldn't be more obvious! I perceive the influences of Popery, Prelacy and Independency. Sin left unaddressed, no matter whose will lead to blindness of their own sin, deadness of soul and formality and if there be any of the elect in that sad state, Fatherly discipline will follow. God's rod is effectual upon the bottom of all his elect one way or another. Choose ye Christ alone can say as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Joshua as a type of the Head of the Father's house could therefore say: Jos 24:19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. Jos 24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. Only in Christ can any keep covenant which all violations of the 3rd Commandment are. Take hold of Christ's righteousness and flee the wrath to come! That's how I understand it. |

Quick response Christopher: I've been listening and thinking concerning all you say for some time. Two texts: Tit 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: (Paul to Titus) Tit 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; Tit 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: Tit 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 1Ti 5:1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; 1Ti 5:2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. read James 4 Find Scripture to support; Let go and let God. Yes, pray on but remember praying in the Spirit must be in agreement with the teachings of Scripture. This I say because of your shared background with different doctrines. Need to get back to down-sizing and canning. |

Get Real, Since you came first to mind in the night watches, I rose to pray. I'll share my thoughts. Neither worry (to tease, trouble, harass) nor false teachers, which are the cause of chilled love, (Matt. 24:11-14) motivates to prayer. Physical illness also distracts and worries. But prayer is our life breath and Satan's distractions from it are endless. Papal Rome's influence has brought down God's just displeasure, on this nation but he has promised Romans 8:25-31. I fear you and I as women, lacking male oversight that doesn't worry us, are cast on our Elder Brother to guide us and especially to keep us from false teachers. It's been my experience He is able. Though I have not shared all your trials, we have economic trials in common. Jesus Christ is the Great Physician and sin bearer, rest in that. Our soul is a higher faculty than our bodies and assisted by the Holy Spirit, it can rise above it to Christ's healing power over body and soul. Compare Eccles. 4:1 with Rev.14:12. I know why you were misled by the you tube video, I believe you need more truth and a Guide. Ps. 25:9; 73:24. I agree with Lurker that you need encouragement; I'm 'trying' to ask more questions. This is not the best way to unburden our hearts, but God is merciful. Read Psalm 37 & |

Exhausted wrote: And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time Daniel 7:25 Dan 7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; Dan 7:20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. Dan 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; ..Dan 7:24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; (compare Rev. 17:11)and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. Historically, it has been taught that this little horn is also called the image of the Beast and believed to be the Pope of Rome, also referred to as the man of sin. |

Get Real wrote: Mourner, For the life of me I can't remember our last conversation, I'm referring to one Lord's Day you, Dorcas and I sought to show mercy one to another. Then you had watched something on You-Tube and things went down hill from there.Memory problems can have a multitude of explanations. Now I associate panic with fear and inordinate fear with unbelief. Cure - the Blood of the Lamb.(repent) Rest in the promises. (believe) Here's one for you. Isa 26:1-3 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Barney, I agree 'domestication' is a problem with sin in the domicile. That said I have a cat and a dog; only the dog by choice. Dog's are loyal, cats have staff. But I am aware of the problems, as well as the mercy in it. Sin destroys everything it overcomes. Saints overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. |

Get Real, Appreciated your post to Dave and was encouraged to read it. Many times in my own life, I find it difficult to interpret God's providence. But since that is his secret counsel, it's understandable. It is struggle enough, in these perilous times, to think and do what is revealed. Deut.29:29The Lord broke in upon one of those dark nights of the soul this morning in private worship, with a promise from Ezekiel. (2 Peter 1:2-11). It was a tender reminder his thoughts are not mine. They are so much higher. I am a critical thinker and my own worst critic. It's best to think on Christ's sympathies more then our sin. 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. I still think of our best dialogue. But it took a sudden turn and that confused me. Committing your health to the great Physician of both body and soul. |

MS, Appreciated your response. To our own Master we, each of us will stand or fall and the Lord is able to cause his servants to stand.Do I see her imprisonment as unjust? Yes! Do I think God reigns over all? Yes! I cannot know her election, I'd have to be God. I can only try to understand her doctrine, before acknowledging her as a sister. I believe our doctrinal differences cause this misunderstanding. I believe she could be an errant new convert, but even four years in serious error is concerning, which Arminianism is. It is also concerning to me that she has taken an oath that I could not take neither imply I would, that is how I lost my job, ergo home. One document I refused to sign had the word covenant in it and when I questioned it. The interviewer had to admit a misuse of the word, but the form remained unchanged. Nit pik? It seems that you cast your weight on her side of the scale, but not mine. I really know little of what you believe. I know we agree only concerning Rome papal and some idolatrous practices, and disagree on covenant theology. You are concerned for her body. It would seem even her enemies are (there were no hand cuffs). I desire the Lord use this for her soul. Fear not, 'little flock' means something. |
