Jim Lincoln wrote: It's unloving to ignore its evils. Indeed. I cringe whenever I think of how the word "love" is so misunderstood in today's society. Too many people have this (unbiblical) idea that love is all about agreement, positive emotions, and warm and fuzzy feelings. Warning someone of both the temporal and especially the eternal consequences of their sin is absolutely the most loving gesture you can make toward him or her. Would to God that more did so, instead of worrying about offense. |

Wensley wrote: Trouble with the list is that everybody marries a stranger and its only after a few years of marriage that you really get to know them properly. There is a lot of truth to this. While you can never fully and completely know another person prior to marriage, with today's society being so mobile and anonymous, and the breakdown of so many families, it's almost impossible to marry someone that you have a lifelong history with. |

General wrote: Gen. 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Amen and thanks for posting this verse. This is all I need as proof that it is wise to support Israel and unwise not to. |

Martin wrote: Young women ought to think of pleasing their future husbands with their bodies, not pleasing themselves-- and many men find nothing attractive about words or images in black ink engraved on human flesh. Great point, as was the rest of your comment. This touches on the future-oriented thinking I mentioned previously. Sadly, too many young women today have an "it's my body and I'll do what I want to" mentality. I don't fault a man for finding tattoos unattractive. |

Great Sermon! I really appreciate the solid Biblical truth of this sermon without apology. Never mind being politically correct. Thank you also for pointing out the true role of women (I Tim. 5:14) minus the obligatory comments about God calling some women to be single, what if I never find a husband, etc. |

danfromtn2 wrote: I would be very careful with this woman's writings. The following was pasted from a Way of Life article at http://www.wayoflife.org/index_files/dangers_in_christian_bookstores.html Popular author Elisabeth Elliot, who is an Episcopalian and ecumenical in philosophy, spoke at the Roman Catholic Franciscan University in 1989 and at Notre Dame in 1998. She had nothing negative to say when her brother Thomas Howard joined the Roman Catholic Church. Thank you for this warning. |

Thornside wrote: The only reason churches put women in the pulpit is because the world has gone in that direction to wreck God's institution of wife and marriage. Therefore who takes that decision is worldly. Very well stated, Thornside. If I should ever happen to visit a church and then discover that a woman is "preaching" that day or is the "elder," I get out of there as fast as God allows me. Women "preachers" do nothing but usher false teaching into a congregation. I Timothy 2:11-12 is still in effect. |

JSC wrote: Facebook flatters men. They get on it and peddle their accomplishments, brag about themselves, deceive, distort the truth about their lives and their accomplishments. Yes, you've summed it up well. Do we really need to see pictures of what someone had for dinner last night or the outfit someone is planning to wear when she goes out this weekend? Talk about oversharing! I know it appears many of these people have fabulous, exciting social lives, but I have to wonder, if acquainted with them IRL, it would be one of those "all that glitters isn't gold" situations. Things aren't always as they seem. People who put a lot of effort into making it look as though they never have a dull moment are usually the emptiest, loneliest ones. What doth it profit a man if he should gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? |

Well said. Thank you for the courage to make this politically incorrect but true comment. Things such as this need to be said more often. |

Anne wrote: SF, preaching to the choir! Lol! My husband reminds me of the 1 Timothy verse frequently (usually after a long day and a backache) hahaha! I haven't seen the psalms verse before but just copied it down; wonderful and thank you! I will be using that as well. Well, we continue to lift you and the baby and your family up in prayer as the arrival is soon! Lady virtue, we do not miss TV either! What TV we see at other places I have been shocked more at the commercials than the shows themselves - downright revolting! I just don't see the point of flipping it on anymore for the very, very few shows that might be alright since there is so much junk to wade through! This article, as case in point; it just gets nastier with each passing season. Good to see you post; congratulations to you and your family on the upcoming addition! |
