America and no one in their right mind
can deny that it is happening. I never
tire of Brother Barnard's preaching.

"Calvinist enigma" Please read Ephesians 2:8-10; especially verse 10. Salvation is on the Lord completely; however good works and faithfulness do follow. Even then, we often fall and fail but God will never leave or forsake His own. For that I am so thankful.
Only God knows His Own! Anyone can make a profession of faith. We cannot be too quick to judge; believe me I have been guilty. What one should do is serve God and be thankful that He has saved us by His marvelous Grace.
He is just one of many; he may fool the masses but he and ones like him will never fool the Elect.. We must face it that this is what people want. Let's be satisfied with the truth that God has given us and be very thankful. Matthew 18:20 What a TEST

I thought it was the pastor's job to focus on the spiritual needs of his congregation.
This article hits the nail of the head. Far too many pastors have forgotten their calling if they ever had one!! I would say the number should be 1 out 1000 who still focus on their church and perhaps even less than that. All one has to do is study the bible to know the duties of a minister of God. I and II Timothy would be a good start.

"social issues" Sadly, this is what church consists of for the most part in America.
These are just two of many; they are just more important than most.
I am thankful that I have always been in a church where the Word of God is taught and have had a pastor who preaches against sin. That is God's Grace because He put me there. I have no merit of my own. We can always see God's providence in our lives.
Absolute proof of this from God's Holy Word is found in I Thessalonians 4:13-18. Anyone who has the Spirit of God living in them can see this is prior to the tribulation period. The Lord's second coming is in two phases. Revelation 19 forward teaches the latter phase which will occur after the tribulation period.
Thank God that He has not appointed us to wrath.
