PreacherJon, I think it is erroneous to call John MacArthur an apostate {in reference to a link provided by Jim Lincoln}. Dr. MacArthur is a renown bible teacher and expository pastor, and has been a blessing to many who have heard him preach. We need to be careful how we accuse others, we must never base salvation solely on a translation. God ultimately is the one who bolts through the proud, hardened heart and saves the lost sinner. No one can understand any translation unless God first opens the understanding of that person. Perhaps you should re-think your severe accusation against Dr. MacArthur; let's keep in mind, none of us are perfect, we are all sinners saved by HIS GRACE. May God guide your heart in this matter.
MacArthur teaches lordship salvation. He's a hyper-Calvinist. He denies the reality of the blood of Christ. He is a new evangelical ecumenist. APOSTATE.

I wasted my money on his Bible commentary and study guide set. I got rid of them very quickly.(and his commentary set contains the same notes that are printed in his study Bible-Jim Lincoln. I have studied it, and its trash.)

Excellent, Neil, of course as John MacArthur pointed out, modern translations don't entirely depend on Westcott and Hort ,]]The Biblical Position on The KJV Controversy. You know, you constantly post the same links, the same replys, and the same comments over, and over, and over, each one from an apostate source, and none of it is your original thoughts. Are you and "John Yurich" the same person? One things for sure, you're as annoying as he is.

AMEN!! and AMEN!!!!! Anna, we don't need to understand Greek and Hebrew. God has provided a perfect translation of His Word for every generation and language-- He says so. Also King James only gave the order for the translation to be made, he had nothing to do with the translation itself.

I got my share of paddles and yardsticks from infuriated nuns, but we were taught evolution in mine.

It should be of no surprise that something ungodly would discuss something that is ungodly.

"There is absolutely no incompatibility between evolutionary theory and the Bible's message,"

Hmmm, I wonder if he's even read Genesis. It doesn't look like it to me.

1) Assuming a faithful group of scholars, and understanding that language does develop over centuries, would it be wrong to attempt a faithful up-to-date version?

2) Although it would be better if we all could read the Hebrew and Greek. Alas for me, I never learned.

1) We don't need one. From 1611 until the early 1900's the KJV was the only English Bible, no one spoke the language that it uses, and Christians had no problem with it. Has our language really changed much since 1900? No. As I said earlier, Christians need to seek God for understanding.

2)We don't need to understand Hebrew and Greek. According to Scripture, God has preserved His Word perfectly for every language and generation. We have an as accurate copy of God's word in the KJV as what was wrote in the original manuscripts because the preservation was done by God and not left to man. When "scholars" start "correcting" the Word of God, they are placing themselves above the Scripture, and it is subject to what ever they "feel" it should say.

--These Calvinists amaze me. They constantly tout the sovereignty of God--the sovereignty of God, but when you show them that God sovereignly placed His Word in the English into one Bible, boy they get all tore up. Funny.

A version of the Bible is useless unless it is understood,
Exactly, and it takes a Spiritual man to understand it. If a person cannot understand the Word of God, and has to resort to "updated, easier to understand Bibles" then this tells me there is a very serious spiritual problem in that persons life. One must be born again, to be able to understand the Word of God. I have absolutely no doubt that if a Christian will ask God for understanding, He will make sure they can understand His perfect Word found in the KJV. God did not preserve His perfect Word and then leave us without understanding. If a person is without understanding God's Word they are without the Spirit, for the Word of God is a Spiritual book, and it requires a Spiritual man to understand it. Modern Bibles are not spiritual books, and do not require a spiritual man to understand them. That is why this apostate generation favors them and hates the KJV. The KJV is one of the most hated books by professing believers. No one really cares what Bible you use until you take a stand for the KJV and then they get all bent out of shape, and spew out hatred for it. This is only another sign of the time that we are in a late apostate hour for the professing church.

I wonder if this is where the Muslims start to get integrated into the one world harlot.
They already have very much in common. Mary is highly revered by Islam.]]http://www.understandthetimes.org/commentary/c51.s..
I think what's really interesting is when you study what Islam teaches about its Muslim messiah--the Mahdi. They believe he is coming to establish peace on the earth by Islamic rule. Sound familiar, like as Daniel describes the antichrist? What really is an eye opener is that they beleive that Jesus the prophet, the "son of Mary"(not the Son of God) will return with the Mahdi. Is this the antichrist along with the false prophet of Rev. 13? And heres another twister, the Mahdi is of the family of Fatima, where one of the RCC's most highly regarded miracles of the "blessed virgin" happened.

John Yurich wrote:
And why do most Baptist Churches require that someone who was Baptized as an infant be Baptized again in order to become a member of their Baptist Church?
Because infant baptism/baptismal regeneration is not scriptural. The Bible is very clear that one must be born again, and regenerated BEFORE they are baptized. Baptism is simply the means by which a Christian professes to the world that he has been born again. He does this by proclaiming the death, burial and resurrection of Christ by standing in the pool, "dieing to sin and self, crucifying his flesh with Christ, and being buried"-- being immersed in water. He then "rises to new life in Christ" coming up out of the water, and thereby he professes the death, burial, and resurrection, of Christ in his life, and being born of the Spirit and being made a new creature.

Water being poured on baby does not bring the birth of the Holy Spirit in his heart, and therefore the baby is not born of the spirit, and cannot recieve a scriptural baptism. Until the child is old enough to know he is a sinner and in need of repentance and Gods' forgiveness, can he be born again and recieve scriptural baptism.

It should come as no surprise that an organization as liberal and corrupt as the World Council of Churches is, would be involved in such an event as this. The WCC has lost touch with Biblical Christianity years ago.
Your right. All the groups above are in bed with Rome, along with mainline protestant churches, hence you have the mother and daughters--- MYSTERY BABYLON of Rev. 17.

I just question whether such apostasy as we see is what is specifically referred to in Biblical prophecy.

what God says church is supposed to do - teach.

"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived"

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; "

"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables"(like Calvinism)

The church's job is to go and preach the gospel. The Holy Spirit teaches by the Word of God.
