For the same reasons some folks think they can remain joined to a harlot "church" and claim to be a Christian. Spiritual blindness. Spiritual deadness.

Absolutely right, Jennifer. I have thought the same thing and will add my prayers to yours.

Going to Salt Lake City, with Ravi Zacharias to lead join worship with Mormons Mormons along with his "One Faith Concert" with Roman Catholic John Michael Talbot IMHO disqualifies him to teach others regarding Bible literacy or for that matter even be in Ministry in any Bible Believing Church not matter what Bible translation he might use, even if he used the KJV
Thank you for posting about Card. You saved me the trouble of doing the same as I have read the same things about him.
I would be very careful with this woman's writings. The following was pasted from a Way of Life article at http://www.wayoflife.org/index_files/dangers_in_christian_bookstores.html
Popular author Elisabeth Elliot, who is an Episcopalian and ecumenical in philosophy, spoke at the Roman Catholic Franciscan University in 1989 and at Notre Dame in 1998. She had nothing negative to say when her brother Thomas Howard joined the Roman Catholic Church.
In his talk he said "When you carry the message of what it means to be human as given to us in our Christian worldview..." which would give the impression to his audience that he was including them as Christians which is damnable.
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Please just call me a 'Biblical Christian' or 'Biblicist'! Calvin didn't get everything right. So why should I attach that divisive label to myself? It's so unnecessary. People need to just read the Bible. You'll come away from it looking like a Calvinist because, in the salvation department, that's what it teaches but there's no need to adopt a label other than 'Christian'. Or these days maybe 'Biblical Christian' would be appropriate since there are many Christians who can't read for themselves and depend on (spiritually) blind men to lead them.
Charisma News doesn't seem to be able to discern the difference between a Christian and a Roman Catholic like Gassis as it presents him as a Christian. Just another "news" source that keeps people confused about that.
