Rome most assuredly is a cult in its most nefarious form. For she is the one, just like the Mormons, JW's and countless others, who claims it is only by joining her and being one of "us" that one can be right with God.

For Rome, salvation is NOT found in the person of Jesus Christ but rather in Mother Church. Here, if you desire salvation, you must confess loyalty to the cult, become a member of the 501c-3 corp., and profess obedience to her rules and doctrine. And you must maintain your membership and stay in good standing lest you become excommunicated. For if this happens, hope for salvation is now lost as the way to eternal life has now been barred by the ecclesiastical bouncers.

Maintaining good standing in Rome of course is merited by what you do even though your heart is as black as coal. Tithes/offerings, sacraments, Masses, bowings, crossings, kneelings and more so as to fulfill the cult's requirements and maintain membership. Because in Rome, just like any other cult, she blasphemously professes that she is the door whereby it is ONLY through her that one can gain entrance to the kingdom of God. Thereby usurping Jesus Christ as the door for the sheep and hence denying him in actuality even though she professes him with her lips.

GC - One of the marks of the last days apostasy is that the apostates will be those who are false accusers and despisers of those that are good. For it is written:

"For men shall be lovers of their own selves...false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good...Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

This you have done against Michael Slattery in your ad-hominen attack. A man you vilify because he preaches the truth against Romanism and her damnable doctrines of devils. You do well to listen to his preaching, yea, you do well to read the Word of God, believe it and repent by coming out of Rome to worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth.

Likewise, unless you like rolling the bones to see how "lucky" you are, you do well to heed the words of Judas
of Galilee who spoke with wisdom to his people who likewise attacked the saints of God. For he said: "Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God." (Acts 5:38-39)

If that is so, then you weren't a well-instructed Catholic. In Catholicism the attitude you describe is called "presumption" -- presuming you are saved.
Lance - actually I was well instructed in the doctrines of Rome for she taught me, amongst other lies I could list here that,"...Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit [where] [t]hrough Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." (1213 Catechism of the Catholic Church)

I agree with enough already. I was raised in religion and outwardly most would say I had everything I needed to "accept" Jesus or ask him into my heart.

Yes, I was raised in Romanism, but there was enough of the Bible throughout my upbringing that I knew the basic gospel message and testified to my belief in the Apostle's creed. But did this head knowledge every penetrate my heart convicting me of my sin? Did it ever cause me to honestly assess myself in the mirror of God's word and acknowledge my terminal condition? Hardly for I was a Catholic and because of this was on my way to heaven and nothing you could have said would have convinced me otherwise.

Here, I could write a tome chronicling my life of sin and how I spiraled down deeper and deeper into the dark recesses of sin and even then it was by God's grace that I did not go even deeper. And the tragedy is that I loved most every minute of it as sin is surely pleasurable for a season.

But then grace came and my eyes were opened up to my sin, my dead religion and my terminal state. To God Alone be the Glory for saving a wretch like me for once I was lost but now am found was blind but now I see.

Believing the Scriptures Michael and studying the matter out before I answer it as being folly. If you take the time you will find things are not so clear cut as the disciples of Copernicus would have you believe.

Likewise I'm believing in the historic Christian faith which held to the literal interpretation of verses such as the one below (until modern science told us the Bible was in error in this area). A faith and understanding that all held to until one more doctrine of the Bible was "proven" to be false just the same way creation of man was by Darwin, the origins of the universe by Dawkins/Hawkings/Sagan, etc., the nature of man and sin by Freud, et al. It all comes down to whose knee do we bend to - modern science or the Word.

"And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day." (Joshua 10:13)

Your brother in Christ -

A challenge I present for all to consider is geocentricism. Insanity, right? Most would say so as myriad, having never studied it, dismiss it outright just as our brainwashing has taught us to do.

I write this as many rightfully fight for the literal interpretation of the Biblical creation model even though it is mocked and scored by scientists, educational institutes and liberal theologians. Yet many of these same persons will deny what the Bible teaches about the earth and sun. This done as most Christians accept without question the words from the same pro-evolution scientists who hate God and have "proven" that the earth revolves around the sun.

Yet if you start to study it you will find quite the contrary as there is no proof that the earth revolves around the sun but merely theories to support a anti-Biblical world view. And actually there is much empirical evidence that proves the Biblical model of the sun truly rising and setting.

Right now I studying the materials in "Galileo was Wrong' by Robert Sungenis. The author being a staunch RC apologist where you will have to wade through fawning accolades for the popes, yet even so there is a wealth of great scientific material that will open your eyes to a world many never considered.

It is public knowledge for those who have eyes to see and are willing to repent that nothing but lies can come from Rome for she is of her father and the works of her father she will do.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/3157555.stm

One of these molesting priests was one I served under as an alter boy and I can only praise the Father for protecting me from his vile hands. Hands made ceremonially clean during the blasphemous mass just before he sacrificed afresh God's Son not unlike the same thing done by Pilate. Yet just like Pilate this was nothing more than an external washing of a cup filled with iniquity and sin as this man and countless others destroyed the lives of so many young boys who even today bear scars that will never be fully healed.

Come out of this harlot and worship the Father in Spirit and Truth through the Son of God who sits on the right hand of the Father in all glory and honor and is not nailed to your crucifix neither found locked up in your monstrance.

In spite of Spurgeon's lack of understanding, I'm sure God was kind to him in the end, on account of his many works of charity, and because he bore the sufferings God asked him to endure.
Lance, Lance it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. Kicking and fighting tooth and nail against the Holy Spirit as you deny the un-meritable gospel of grace through faith in Jesus Christ and his finished work. Choosing instead to hold the glorification of man as you elevate your Romanist false gospel of works/suffering.

Work till you can stand no longer and suffer till you have no breath left in your body and you will be no closer to God than you are today. For the works and suffering of Spurgeon and any other true saint of God are dung in terms of their salvation and contribute not one iota to the gift and work of Jesus Christ.

Rather, the saints of God, as decreed by the Living God and not some Romanist committee, know, testify and "...believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved." (Acts 15:11)

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another." (Gal 5:14-15)

Take heed indeed for it is tragic how the venom and diatribes have come forth in full force in this discussion. Even as I am not so inclined to believe that text one reads is a secondary matter yet I know that ad-hominem attacks are not of the Spirit of God and those who issue them should really examine themselves.

With this said, those on either side of the fence should not be so ignorant to believe that the devil has changed his tactics. From the very beginning he attacked the word of God and has done so throughout recorded history. And so he continues to do today in ways more subtle and stealthy than in times past. For now he uses man's love of scholarly research and "higher" learning so as to call into doubt what God has said and to reconstruct or as the case often is deconstruct the text.

Because of this it would do those who have not examined the matter to study to show themselves approved unto God so as to know all the facts and not just to parrot some cherished position.

Indeed it is novel to find women in dresses who are covering skin instead of endeavoring to expose it through nakedness or skin-tight clothing. The latter being something taken for granted even in most churches today where even underwear (i.e. bikinis) are acceptable wear.

Certainly not in any way advocating the doctrines of the Mormons or these polygamists, but the attire of the women is very refreshing. It is sad that it is shocking to see women dressing like women instead of men where they dress modestly by not donning the attire of a harlot condemned in Scriptures.

Very tragic though that it is those outside of the body of Christ who are giving the world and MSNBC pause...

Ok GC so Giuliani received Jesus body, soul and divinity, eh? He received the source of life which will bring a man to repentance, correct?

Well, the clock is ticking for him, Clinton and all the rest who so oft receive the eucharist for their public repentance in tears in ashes as the power of God convicts them of their wickedness and sin.

Funny - in my 20+ years as a RC I never once saw such a thing happen but rather a stubborn pride that I'm a Catholic and am going to heaven even though I live like the devil.

For years I faithfully tithed the Scriptural 23.33%. In time, my eyes were opened to the errors of this doctrine and I was delivered from it by God's grace.

After this I supported a number of ministries I now repudiate and sadly feel that I was often fleeced as my monies went to elaborate flesh-pleasing building programs, salaries, sound systems, ecumenical outreaches, new carpeting and other such non-kingdom building endeavors.

If we want to give Scripturally we will stop sending in checks to corporate 501-c3's for them to distribute in THEIR name and give as Christ gave in the Father's name. All the while as Jesus went out and directly ministered to the people and did not do it through a proxy.

We too can reach out to our communities and those of the local NT church directly; face-to-face, hand-to-hand even as Jesus and the disciples did. We will weep with those who weep, and rejoice with those who rejoice. And when we give to help those in need our right hand needeth not know what the left is doing.

Finally, when you give in this fashion the Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus get the glory deserved them and not some denomination, 501-c3 or other organization.

Part I:
I cannot say I was well pleased with Mr. Mohler's article about the Pope. An article that will leave the uninformed reader of the horrors of the papacy with nary a pin prick. This being true even as Mr. Mohler correctly notes that the works of Ratzinger are bold, "brilliant" and "incisive."

Indeed they are for so the papacy has always been as bold as a roaring lion, as brilliant as a fox and as incisive as a surgeon. For Rome and the papacy are literally drunken with the blood of millions of butchered saints who suffered the most horrific and brutal deaths at her bloodied hands. She for whom it is written: "MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus." (Rev 17:5-6)

Indeed much is happening. Muslims, Jews and now the Mormons bending their knee to the pope coming ever closer to being under the absolute authority of the man of sin, the son of perdition.

Hold fast brethren to the faith once delivered to the saints. Purge out even the smallest lump of Romanist leaven that we might be an unleavened lump.

Most assuredly Neil there is. Much more as an examining of many churches today will reveal that they are more papist than Scriptural.

You are correct re. pastors. The NT churches were governed by elders as it was never a one-man show. Yet today so many have devolved into the same clerical system that plagues Rome.

I agree 100% with shushan about the 501c-3. It is easy to slam the papacy and indeed must be done in defending of the faith against the harlot, yet one first needs to get the plank out of their own eye.

The 501c-3 is the death knell of today's modern church which officially is not a NT free church but rather a corporation given life by Caesar (i.e the IRS). The product of an unholy union as the vast majority of churches today willingly jumped into bed with Caesar so as to gain his tax favor$ (read mammon) and public "acceptability."

Now she has played the harlot as she has two lovers to serve, one being Caesar and the other Jesus. Yet we know that one cannot serve two masters.

I challenge all godly men to step up to the plate, quit ye like men be strong and study this subject out. Download the IRS and state forms your church (if it is 501c3) had to fill out in order to officially be deemed a church by Caesar. Read them and if they do not make you sick and grieved then you do well to pray for a softened heart and opened eyes.

To help, please see materials by Gregg Dixon and listen to 501c3 messages by Michael Slattery on Sermon Audio.

Come out from amongst them and be ye separate and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you says the Lord.

GC - I am not going to debate it here as you have heard the truth of the gospel from countless posters on this site. I will state that Roman Catholics are not innocent as you state, they are sinners in need of salvation. These RC's have not expelled protestants they have expelled Jesus as all RC's do who hold to the papacy and sacraments for salvation.

Regarding your other examples I cannot speak to but to say that there are many who have claimed the name of Christ and are liars whose fruit bears witness to the fact that they are lost. I speak against this just as I speak against the lies of the papacy and "mother" rome.

Finally, shaking the dust off of one's feet is not hating one's neighbor, it is walking in Scriptural truth against those who reject the free offer of the gospel.

A fine example of hardened hearts. To the brethren expelled I pray you shake the dust of Tenango Tepexi off your feet. "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city." (Mark 6:11)

“ Good Primer on Times ”
I hope Christians wake up to the times we are living in as most are in a stupor hypnotized by the culture, entertainment industry and the lies of the controlled media. I will add that the indignation voiced in this message should not be at the IRS working to silence churches, the indignation should be towards churches that have voluntary shackled themselves to Caesar by incorporating into a 501c-3 for the tax (i.e. mammon) benefit$. As such, the IRS is fully justified in upholding the contract that these pastors signed enslaving them and their churches to Caesar. Just read Pub 1828 from the IRS - truly tragic. The church must unshackle herself from this unholy marriage and be free for no man can serve two masters...for you cannot serve the IRS and God.
