Here's a sobering thought . . . you or I may be called home at any time.

The vital question for each of us is. .
are we "in Christ"? Christ is the "one thing needful"! (Luke 10:42)

For as it is written:

Rev. 14:13
". . . Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth . . . "

II Tim. 4:8
"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

Jer. 33:16
"In those days shall Judah be saved. and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD, our righteousness."

JEHOVAH TSIDKENU is "all things to me"!

RELATED . . Antichrist in the UK 2010 / by Shaun Willcock, Christian Apologist
http://www.biblebasedministries.co.uk/

Excerpt:
“In her welcoming speech, Elizabeth addressed Benedict as “Your Holiness” and said she was “delighted” to welcome him to the UK. “I recall with great pleasure the memorable pastoral visit of the late Pope John Paul II to this country in 1982,” she said. “I also have vivid memories of my four visits to the Vatican, and of meeting some of your predecessors on other occasions.”i
How disgraceful, that the woman sworn to uphold the Protestant constitution of Britain should so warmly welcome the representative of Britain’s greatest enemy to the country. Not that Elizabeth is a true Christian, of course, and nor is the “Protestantism” of the “Established Church of England” biblical; but nevertheless, as queen she has betrayed her coronation oath and is helping take the country back to Rome.
She also said that Benedict’s presence “reminds us of our common Christian heritage”.ii
There is no common Christian heritage between Roman Catholicism and biblical Christianity, but tragically the queen’s Anglican institution is not a Christian church, and there is much in common between it and Romanism.”

“For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil.”

Let each discerning Christian prayerfully consider if Martin McGuinness fits the criteria God has established in Rom. 13:3 for rulers? May God give you wisdom.

Excerpt:
McGuinness daren't tell the whole truth about past

McGuinness has a past he can't tell the whole truth about. Complete frankness would lay him open to police investigation and possibly imprisonment. It would also damage him, and Sinn Fein, politically.

Robinson referred to the so-called republican "honour code" which McGuinness invoked to avoid answering questions about other people at the Bloody Sunday inquiry. Like the mafia's omerta code, or the "don't welch on a chap" code of English public schoolboys, this is a mutual protection measure. If McGuinness talked about someone else, then other people could talk about him.

It is part of the price he pays for leading an insurrection which failed. If the IRA had won, then McGuinness could be open about all that he did, like some old general writing his memoirs. He would get medals for long service and the leaders of the police and army would face a war crimes tribuna

Ian Paisley accused of 'betraying community'
September 5, 2010 / Suzanne Breen
EXCERPT:

The Rev Alan Clifford has written to the former DUP leader telling him that the North would have been a far better place had he stayed with religion and not strayed into politics.
Clifford, the pastor at Norwich Reformed Church urged Paisley to "repent for his sins" and said that he prayed that young ministers "will not be tempted by your example".

"Dr Paisley's ministry began with every good intention but the pursuit of power and glory – rather than truth, honour, and justice – became the driving force in his political life. He became ego-driven.
"There is no other explanation for him adopting a political arrangement that he severely castigated so many other Northern Ireland politicians in the past for supporting. Dr Paisley is open to the charge of hypocrisy."

By mixing the roles of pastor and politician, the DUP leader had "violated the word of God", Clifford said. "When I speak to Dr Paisley's former supporters, the sadness that he has caused is written all over their faces. Had he restricted his obvious gifts and energy to the gospel and giving pastoral care, Northern Ireland would have been a better place."

Protest or Pretext
Rev Ian Paisley and Rev Ron Johnstone are heading up a Free Presbyterian protest against the Pope’s visit to Edinburgh; presently, the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster has printed a pamphlet examining Roman Catholicism in the light of scripture. This is what many in the Reformed faith expect of evangelical Protestants; taking every opportunity to expose error, while at the same time preaching the glorious gospel of Christ.

The problem is that there appears to be a pretext here; how can these church leaders go to protest against a Papal state visit, without firstly and unequivocally condemning the unscriptural and immoral circumstance of terrorist inclusive government at home. Before condemning and upbraiding the errors of Roman Catholicism, what about addressing the betrayal and sell-out of Ulster evangelical Protestants;

'Biblical Protest and Christian Witness Await Pope's UK Visit'
by: Richard Bennett, Christian Apologist (former R.C. Priest)
Link: http://www.bereanbeacon.org/

"The Historical Biblical Significance
The papal visit to the UK and the energetic Evangelical response show that both sides understand the present occasion to be an historically significant one. To prepare for the calling of His people from the Catholic Church at the time of the Reformation, the Sovereign Lord used Luther, Calvin, Knox, and many others to bring about witnessing across Europe. As a result, there was a true biblical regeneration of souls by the Holy Spirit. All down through church history, at different times of revivals, the Lord has used the Gospel of grace for the salvation of many. It is now very possible that the Lord will use the witnessing and the thousands of tracts that will have been given out to bring about salvation of many by His Gospel of grace. The upcoming events in the UK are already having a distinct influence in energizing evangelical life and witness in Britain and Scotland. Change appears to have already begun at the household of God!"

Wise counsel from Shaun Willcock, Christian Apologist & Gospel Minister to South Africa

Excerpt: “International Burn a Koran Day”:The Christian Response

“Like Roman Catholicism, Islam seeks world domination . . .
Christians! Be very aware of this monstrous religion’s mission, and of how it operates. If you are citizens of a non-Islamic country, by all means use such legal avenues as you have to resist the encroachment of this insidious religio-political system.

And above all, preach the Gospel of the grace of God to the Muslim people! It is advancing, day by day, year by year, throughout the world. Mohammed was a man of war, but Christ is the Prince of peace. Mohammed’s fanatical followers are very willing to use the physical sword to advance their religion, but Christ’s true followers make use of the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray, witness; preach; and live a life that is glorifying to the Lord in this world of sin and darkness.”

More wise counsel from Shaun Willcock, Christian Apologist & Gospel Minister to South Africa . .
Excerpt: “International Burn a Koran Day”:The Christian Response

"We are not to deliberately give unnecessary offence to anyone, it is true; because this shuts the door to opportunities for witnessing and preaching to the lost: “Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved” (1 Cor. 10:32,33). And just gathering up Korans willy-nilly and setting them alight is an act of unnecessary offence. It serves no good purpose. However, when it comes to preaching the Gospel, and standing for Christ, this must be done boldly, without compromise, without watering down the message, without yielding an inch to the enemies of the truth; and if this causes offence to any, then so be it. And if ex-Muslims, converted to Christ, burn their own copies of the Koran as a witness of renunciation of Islam, in the way described in Acts 19, this is something Christians can support – even though it offends Muslims."

“International Burn a Koran Day”: The Christian Response /Shaun Willcock, Christian Apologist
Excerpt:
“And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” (Acts 19:18-20)
It is very likely that Terry Jones had this very text in mind when he called for the burning of Korans on September 11.
But what is the difference between emulating the believers of Acts 19:18-20, and what this pastor called for? The difference is this: he did not call for ex-Muslims, now converted to Christ, to burn their own copies of the Koran to show that they had renounced Islam, but for people everywhere to obtain copies of the Koran for burning to protest the Muslim terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. And as such it was foolish, misguided, and futile.
It was foolish and misguided, firstly, because there are no biblical grounds for such a protest, and secondly, because it entirely misses the point of Acts 19.

'Biblical Protest and Christian Witness Await Pope's UK Visit'
by: Richard Bennett, Christian Apologist (former R.C. Priest)

Excerpt:
"On Friday September 17th at Parliament Square, the Pope will enter Westminster Hall. This area will be sealed off and not open to the public. After addressing Parliament, the Pope will go to Westminster Abbey where he will meet with Church of England’s Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, and English Bishops. There Evangelicals have arranged for a protest and witnessing area. They will be joined by others who will have been witnessing and handing out tracts from late in the morning. There they will join the protest and continue to hand out tracts.

Thus there will be a fixed Evangelical presence outside the Abbey witnessing, distributing literature and displaying Scripture banners, while rotating preachers proclaim the Word of truth. The message will be given that true Christians stand on the Bible alone and refuse to accept false manifestations of Christianity and false gospels. The clear Gospel message of grace will be given as the only remedy to such false gospels."

An appropriate reception and response by Evangelical Christians to the papal visit:

'Biblical Protest and Christian Witness Await Pope's UK Visit'
by: Richard Bennett, Christian Apologist (former R.C. Priest)

Excerpt:
"Evangelical Scotland Prepares
The Pope is expected to be in Bellahouston Park between 5:00pm and 6:00pm, which has a maximum capacity of 220,000 people. The plan is to have at least 200 willing Christian evangelists there. The call is going out to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and other places, including Ireland, that more helpers are needed to reach many perishing souls with the Gospel of God’s grace.

Evangelical England Prepares
In London, the Evangelical preparations are also gearing up. Fourteen UK Christian societies have organized outreaches to Catholics as well as peaceful protests during the proposed State visit. These groups, under the leadership of Christian Watch organization and The Protestant Truth Society, are scheduled to be at each event of the papal visit to give a Gospel witness."

Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon these gatherings!

I do testify that "prayers really can help cure the sick" Many a time when I was afflicted the Great Physician has visited me on my sick bed & strengthened me on my bed of languishing. Ps. 41:13
"The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness."

I believe prayer is the best antidote for whatever ails us.
I concede there is a time & place for medicine, if used in moderation, but it will only have a curative quality if God is pleased to bless it to our good. In truth, the adverse side effects of most meds far outweigh the benefits we derive from them.
With prayer, the only side effect I have known is that blessed calm that God was pleased to bring into my soul. When I have carried my burdens . . my afflictions . . to HIM in prayer, my aches & pains have been relieved . . my distressed soul quieted & my depressed spirit refreshed. (Mark 4:39)
How oft has this prayer of the psalmist been on my lips, both in my case, as well as in the case of others that were stricken for whom I have prayed, to which the Lord answered in mercy and in grace.(Ps. 42:11)

"Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High;
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee and thou shalt glorify me." Ps.

Jessica, I have been taught of God that it is at those very times, when my faith seems so small, to pray in the spirit:
"Lord I believe; help thou mine unbelief." (Mark 9:24b)

I would offer as well this word in season, by way of encouragement, from the lips of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His High Priestly prayer recorded in the 17th chapter of the Gospel of John:

". . . Holy Father keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be as one, as we are.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled."
(John 17:11b-12)

Finally some "good news" . .

What an extraordinary account and remarkable instance of what God has promised to all His people:

"But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." (Matt. 10:19-20)

How bold was this woman's witness!
Upon further reflection of this event, this passage came to my mind:

"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter
and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus."
(Acts 4:13)

Not since the 'Columbine massacre' in Colorado many years ago now, when I read of a young girl by the name of "Cassie", who bore her testimony of Jesus Christ in the teeth of her executioners, have I read of such a courageous witness as the one borne by this woman.

To God be the glory!

Neil . . Mike,

The fact is . . . this passage in God's Word answers to the false gospel of ROME, and as a former R.C. thoroughly acquainted with their traditions, I should know!

God does not treat this lightly, but with the most solemn of words denounces these constraints and/or practices imposed on men, as "doctrines of devils".

I Tim. 4:1-3
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils'

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Forbidding to marry,
and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth."

Absolutely Jim . . and God has so declared in His Word that
such a practice is a "doctrine of devils":
