Neil, do you actually read these posts, I can't count the times that we have gotten on rabbit trails totally off the thread. I agree with Ken and the Biblical view is that Jesus and his disciples carried a money bag, for whom? The poor, and who was in charge of that money bag? Judas and why did he carry the money bag? To dip into it of course. Remember the woman who took an alabaster of expensive oil and poured it on Jesus's head, who complained? Judas, who held the money bag, said it could have been sold and put in their bag for the poor. Jesus said,"Leave her alone, she has anointed me for my, burial ,she has done a good thing. You will not have me here with you always but the poor you wii" Sounds like He wants His Church to remember the poor always. Can't do that if money is poured into other less important things.I am talking about the real poor, not the lazy, don't want to work poor. Paul had something to say about that also, if you don't work, you don't eat.

John Uk, I use pencil. I haven't had lessons or anything but I just love drawing but not landscapes or anything like that just portraits.Maybe I'll try painting landscape. I really need paintings in my home. I love the seascapes, have seen some when we went to Florida in different shops too expensive to buy. That's great meeting people in the market place and witnessing to them.

I've seen a greenish angry looking sky, it had a tornado drop down out of it. Get real, you just rained on everybody's parade. I couldn't play it on my tablet, so I missed all the excitement. I never painted but I have sketched in the past, mostly portraits. Kept telling myself that I was going to learn to paint. Alas, four kids later and that dream vanished, yet still there. John UK what do you paint mostly and do you sell your paintings for a living? Find that so interesting, I guess because I love that type thing, being able to paint.

I did not mean, Lisa, that Billy Graham was a false professor at all, he's Baptist and I'm Baptist. He's a great preacher and God has brought many to Himself through his ministry, however I was listening to Trevor Hammach(sic) today as he played the last message of Billy Graham to America because I missed it Thu. At the begining Trevor mentioned that even though he did not agree with some things he had said, he still saw that he had been a big part in christianty through the years. I agree with what Trevor said even if I can't repeat all of it. Also he won many to Christ and then he played the tape.

John UK, that is so amazing to me and has given me some tears as I write this I guess it's because I have been so touched by your testimony, it helps my faith to grow even more when I hear how God saved each one. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, John UK for advice from another wise ole owl. Believe me, I'm learning through this forum that you better have a thick skin or drop out. Actually it has helped me to be here and get over things going on in other areas of my life. So it's kinda like God working on me here for there.

John UK, I find it interesting that you became a Christian even though your parents were not, how did you become one? That tells me that God can bring our loved ones out of darkness into light no matter where they are in their lives. Those that came out of other toxic religions, how did that happen? How did you finally see the falseness of it? Just curious and by no means being argumentive about it. Did God show you the way through someone else's testimony. I see error in most churches and I can't believe the way they do. If I judge the whole church for errors I see then there would be no one in heaven but me( well not even me because I did a no no by judging them) I even see error in things Billy Graham has said and others see error in what I say. I just know for sure that Revelations clearly says that there will be a number that no man can number, from all nations and tongues..that's alot of people. We should be his witnesses to a lost and dying world. And one way we do that is to love the brethen, pray for each other and encourage one another.

AZ, you are so right because in the times we are now living weso need the prayers and support of true believers. God go with you and you, too, John UK . I don't know how how many on here served in the military or have loved ones serving now but forgot to give my thanks to them for my freedom and prayers for those serving now. Veterans' Day brings memories of them including those in my family.

Again, I feel a little misunderstood. I hope I did not give the idea that I believe all religions are right those that do not believe that Jesus is the only way is headed in the wrong direction for destruction. I was talking about altar calls to be saved. I went forward to be saved and was. My son went forward at age 10 because his friends went down and he wasn't saved but later on at age 18 he had an experience with God at home by himself and was saved and you could see the difference, he was rebaptized and still very much a christian. So I know altar calls don't always mean salvation. AZ you keep praying for your family and He will bring them out just as He did you.

John UK and AZ, you both are right and it's called evangelism, and missionaries and just being a witness. My problem is with my in-laws judgement of me for not being the right wife for their son. I just never could be the Penecostal they believed was so the only way. Like I said I am working on this and feel so horrible when I lash out in a defensive mode.

Cont. Another thought, I got was that the born again Christian is suppose to be known by their love for each other, supportive etc. but instead they sometimes are known to devour one another, to bbring confusion to those that begin to question their beliefs because they got saved different than some one else did so their salvation is true and yours false. God help us to not add more persecutions than the World already does .My sincere apology to anyone I've been unloving toward. In the long run of thingsit does not matter what you think of Billy Graham or CS Lewis or Catholics. It boils down to what God knows. It's not worth fighting about and I feel condemned that I took part in it. I've repented and ask forgiveness even for my last post here,so uncalled for.

The thought being that most churches today are lively with songs that are just phrases over and over, really no meaning much just loud noise, which my pastor thinks is great and the song leader thinks we should just get with the program and stop just sitting there with arms folded. Since the Catholic Church has a quieter service she could have added that to the list of quieter services. Never been in one but have seen some on TV. I have been so hurt by some on this forum because I don't join in on their bashing of those who are Catholics. Like I said before, we are not called to be lawyers or judges, just witnesses. Just wanted to warn her that's all. How refreshing, you asked nicely and do pray I answered as nice as you asked.AZ.

Tara Gill, you just described the Church I go to, amazing! Maybe this is satan's plan since it's apparently world wide. He wants to get our attention off true worship of God. Good post and I'm so glad you didn't add the Catholic Church to that list. That's a no,no and you would have been blasted out of the water. Anyway, good comment, Tara, I agree.

I see your point John Uk..what I see, is Jesus did not call the righteous to repentance but the unrighteous, the sinner..if Billy Graham came into a town to convert church members over to his Baptist beliefs rather than give out the message of salvation how many do you think he could reach, not very many. Paul said he preached Christ and Chtist crucified..I think he tries to be friends with all to win all..didn't Paul say basically the same thing? "Though I am free from all men. I have made myself a servant to all that I might win the more.vs.20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those under the law, as under the law, that I might win those under the law....I have become all things to all men that I might by all means save some Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partakers of it with you. We can't tell someone else what to believe..we sow the seed, God sends someone else to water and in due time hopefully the harvest is ready to be reaped. How many times has John y been harassed over and over for being in the Roman Catholic..do you seriously think he is listening to you, no..nor will he ever as long as he's being put down..btw scripture I quoted is 1Corth.9:19-23.

John UK..I do not want to leave you with the thought of me calling you a hypocrite! I will not judge you or your comments..I can't believe you actually thought I meant that for you...no, never..I sense your strong love for God and learned from your posts..actually it's been neat having a christian friend from the UK to spar with.

I was born in Alabama and lived there until I married and moved away..the richest people in our town who owed most of the dress shops and other businesses were Jews. I went to school with their kids and they were very smart. The 'love' of money is the root of all evil..nothing wrong with being rich if you don't love It more than God..Abraham was a very rich man..so was others in the Bible. Paul was not rich but he said," Godliness with contentment is great gain..he had learned that lesson from being in want and having abundance..either way he learned to be cont
ent..even those who have very little in Armerica are considered rich by those in other countries as Mike and Frank said and I so agree.
