“ Excellent excellent Sermon! ”
An excellent rendition of what the new birth is. This should also show us the supernatural aspect of our physical birth also, in that only God bestows life, both physical and spiritual. And each is a gift that is more precious than Gold. We tend to discount physical birth because it happens to every one but with out Gods breath of life, in each, neither would exist. Praise God from whom all blessings flow, for it is only by Him and through Him that we have life, and breath, and have our being ! |

“ interesting sermon ”
You make a lot of valid points in this sermon but have left me with a couple of questions. First, are you saying that we have to be regenerated BEFORE the Holy Spirit works in our lives? And second are we not quickened or regenerated SO THAT. We can hear the call, so that we will respond to the call, and so that we will believe when the call comes?
In other words, do we have to accept and believe, to have the Holy Spirit work in our lives, or does the Holy Spirit come up on us, regenerate or quicken us, (save us)so that we have the faith to believe?
I have asked these question of many a pastor, and have had them trivialized repeatedly. But have found the answers to be profound in showing me what pastor believe and teach.

Been reading you for 30 years changed my life and ministry, in God's grace Pastoring a 5000 member church in South Africa, listen to "Pastor Before His God" at least 5 times a year I love it when our sermons preach back at us |

Joel is a great guy, good church, good celebrity , but is typical of the Charismatic, Word of Faith leaders who know nothing of Biblical Theology, and just pass on and share their ignorance with one another, he was just in Seattle, great event but did any of his fellow Pastors challenge him on his statements? No they were falling over each other to suck up to Joel and Victiria and have their picture taken, who cares what Joel Osteen thinks about Mormon teaching, his Dad John Osteen would turn in his grave, John was raised a consistent Baptist as far as salvation goes, Joel on the other hand had one year at ORU |
