]]Health Care Simplified Kerby Anderson Healthcare, Guaranteed by Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel tries to apply the KISS principle to health care (keep it simple stupid). In the place of the massive amounts of rules and regulations promoted by insurance companies and the government, he proposes a voucher for health insurance that would cover the same benefits that members of Congress receive. Insurance companies would have to accept the vouchers, and each person would be able to choose from the array of doctors, hospitals, and health plans. Also, a National Health Board would provide oversight. That’s about it. Now, I know this all might sound politically naïve, until you realize one important fact. Dr. Emanuel has a younger brother by the name of Representative Rahm Emanuel " Luk 8:43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, "A simple solution may be a tougher sell than the current system. But he is also betting that Americans want action on health care and would like the system to be simpler not more complicated." |

Jim Lincoln wrote: the KJV on that site besides. Good to see they have a real Bible God's word , the Authorised Bible, still stands:Thought it would be interesting to see the footnote from TNIV on these verses since it is the Bible that has replaced the NIV. A WORD TO THE READER "The Committee has again been reminded that every human effort is flawed -- including this revision of the NIV." Mark 16:9-20 and John 7:53-8:11, although long accorded virtually equal status with the rest of the Gospels in which they stand, have a very questionable -- and confused -- standing in the textual history of the New Testament, as noted in the bracketed annotations with which they are set off. A different typeface has now been chosen for these passages to indicate even more clearly their uncertain status. my prediction? the 2009 to 2019(or so) "Devolved T N I V" DT-NIV ? will just cut the verses with no note having slowly acclimated the public to "questionable, confused, flawed , uncertain "'bibles' Niv revised 78,84 and now, "In Today's New International Version (TNIV) the Committee offers to the reading public the latest fruits of this review. DJC49 -records of "snake handlers" ? -- Actually, reason the TNIV deleted Mark 16:9-20 was due to the fact that the publisher did not want to TRUST records of "snake handlers" . Acts.28:3-6 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said.. "Mar 12:24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? (Mar 16:8) And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid. The Gospel ends here for scoffers. |

]]REV. 3:20 PREACHING AT SA ]]Charles Haddon Spurgeon ON LUKEWARMNESS Now let us consider, secondly, THE DANGER OF SUCH A STATE. The great danger is, first, to be rejected of Christ. He puts it, "I will spue thee out of my mouth,"--as disgusting him, and causing him nausea. Then the church must first be in his mouth, or else it could not be spued from it. ...This text belongs to the church of God, not to the unconverted. It is addressed to the Laodicean church. There is Christ outside the church, driven there by her unkindness, but he has not gone far away, he loves his church too much to leave her altogether, he longs to come back, and therefore he waits at the doorpost. He knows that the church will never be restored till he comes back, and he desires to bless her, and so he stands waiting, knocking and knocking, again and again; he does not merely knock once, but he stands knocking by earnest sermons, by providences, by impressions upon the conscience, by the quickenings of his Holy Spirit; and while he knocks he speaks, he uses all means to awaken his church. |

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by by the Holy Ghost. sure, MORE SURE! |

Now when Jesus was risen early thefirst day of the week,he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devilsAnd she went and told them that had been with him,as they mourned and weptAnd they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed notAfter that he appeared in another form unto two of them,as theywalked, and went into thecountryAnd they went andtold it untothe residue: neither believed they themAfterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risenAnd he said unto them,Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creatureHe that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;but he that believeth not shall be damnedAnd these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents;and if they drink any deadly thing,it shall not hurt them;they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recoverSo then after the Lord had spoken unto them,he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of GodAnd they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs followingAmen |

Christiana wrote: Jim I'm pretty sure that Jim was talking to me: his post got messed up because you were quoting me. He's not the kind to 'off the cuff' go after anyone, and is quite patient, and gracious with our somewhat heated back and forth on this issue: he probably just hadn't noticed that the post was accidently labeled to you.In context, he was saying he was glad I read his link, and then was commenting on the fact that I thought the NIV recommendation by MacArthur to be silly. I got sidetracked in talking to hidemi williges (about the same point) and forgot to note that I thot the post was mis-labelled. Jim Lincoln has many useful posts in other areas in SA, and helps to sharpen our sword on this one. Iron sharpeneth iron. I should have jumped in to keep the post from seeming to be to you: betcha Jim will note a retraction TO YOU when he has time. And then try to go after me...and the rest of us who have a perfect Bible in our hands. |

We should avoid its use. We believe the Bible in its original languages (Greek and Hebrew) were inspired by God. The TNIV purposefully ignores some of the inspired words of God. Christiana wrote: He alone ]]Basic Premises on Gov. by Reese - why you're right 1. Government is inherently incompetent, and no matter what task it is assigned, it will do it in the most expensive and inefficient way possible. 2. The American government is corrupt from top to bottom. 3. If you rely on the mass media to inform you about your community, state and nation, you will, with rare exceptions, be woefully ignorant of what is really going on. 4. The universal franchise is a bad idea. The notion that the destiny of the nation should be put in the hands of ignoramuses, parasites, boobs, party hacks and idiots is absurd on its face. 5. Public education in America is a failure and is so flawed it cannot be reformed. 6. Not much has changed in the past 5,000 years of human history. All of that might sound cynical, but it really isn't. True conservatives have argued for years that government, even a benign one, is like a clumsy, retarded giant, and therefore you have to be careful to limit what tasks you assign it... Human beings are selfish, flawed and fallible " [here I break in and change it to ] sinners,If you want perfection, Christ alone is perfect. |
