@ Lurker,

I noticed what M.Henry said of Paul's blindness, at least what I heard is that God is immortal, and the original of immortality; he only has immortality (1Ti_6:16), for he cannot die. He is invisible, for he cannot be seen with mortal eyes, dwelling in the light to which no man can approach, whom no man hath seen nor can see, 1Ti_6:16. He is the only wise God (Jud_1:25); he only is infinitely wise, and the fountain of all wisdom. “To him be glory for ever and ever,” or, “Let me be for ever employed in giving honour and glory to him, as the thousands of thousands do,” Rev_5:12, Rev_5:13.

Christ's revelation of his Divinity to Paul was not with eyes but with faith communicated by a heavenly vision again not seen with eyes but with his mind. But ye have the mind of Christ.

QUOTE][AUTHOR]Lurker[/AUTHOR]The reason .. preaching to the lost is so perverted (decisional regeneration) ..Paul's conversion has been perverted or ignored.. What say you?[/QUOTE]Not sure what your looking for here, but the majority of Gentiles do not have the same priviledge of true religion, even though by his time, it was in sad declension. Sadly too many qualify for the chief of sinners according to the light of conscience they do have, suppressing the truth in unrighteousness from natural revelation. Salvation is of the Jews. How can any understand NT revelation without OT concealed truth, revealed to them by Christ's gifts?

Paul had a heavenly vision. But it not that to which you are referring. On another thread B.McC pointed out we were trying to define how, when and where the wing blew. So aware of my womanhood, I went to M Henry on 1 Tim.1:12-17 Consider. What thinkest thou? He begins with speaking of Ministerial calling. I'll be pondering what I 'think' your point is related to the text in question as I finish reading Henry.

If blindness was his fallen frailty in the presence of the Light of the world, who had begun a good work in him: Who art thou, Lord? I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: then it was an effectual call because it was Christ's.

The biblical ‘euangélion‘ is inexhaustible, yet out of convenience it has become synthetic, stifled, and shorn of the entire Bible context.
We hold special ‘Gospel’ meetings...
This makes me think of 2 things. 1. First that the Head of the Church sends men to preach the gospel. Men with an internal and external call because faith cometh by hearing by and hearing by the Word of God. A preacher is required and therefore sent by Christ, the Master of the His house. Men can run unsent, but it isn't a 'good' idea 2. @ Lookout you changed the discussion topic to a different consideration of the article. Both are comprehended in the article concerning the methods of Billy Graham. He disregards the means of God's appointment and is a helper of that man of sin, the Pope of Rome. The methods are man's, the means of grace are of God's appointment.

Your comment reminded me that I was disappointed with the apparent relative silence of the ministry in the UK concerning the Papal visit in that nation. I saw a quiet Ministry, for the most part or one devoid of history, an ignorant magistracy (maybe deceived, after all the queen is a woman, but not all in her household or Parliament are) and a sleepy people as the continuing cause of moral decline. I remember the queen donning black taffeta and a veil in 1980 in subjection to the then man of sin, the Pope of Rome. That was the first time it was brought to my attention, by a poster here. I could only judge at the time of Benedict's visit by the sermons here on sa. I was disappointed with the few who addressed it.

I cut and pasted the last sermon you gave into the browser bar? (the biggest one) Google said no such thing; then I put it in the topic bar on sa and I found all three sermons you mention.

Thank you.

Still working my way through the edifying comments.

@ Lurker on Comment to Ladybug 9/4/15 2:20AM
see Rom 7:7-11

I understand this to mean that Paul was alive once without the law because the sentence of death or the righteous judgment of a broken commandment had not broken in upon his understanding until Jehovah Jesus spoke to him as his Prophet/Priest/King. Nathan the prophet said to David 'Thou are the man.' David as chief magistrate had passed judgment upon the offender in general, as did Paul the Pharisee all those 'he' counted offenders, but Jesus Christ by an effectual call on the road to Damascus, and from that time, with an on going efficacy according to the seasons of divine appointment; brought personal repentance and faith in the Righteous One for acceptance with God. Act 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Our Prophet by his word and Spirit convicts his elect in time and throughout their duration here during the war between the flesh and the spirit, that 'they are the man'.

Paul's sin in Roman's 7 is covetousness but on the road to Damascus it was persecution of Christ, in the persecution of his members.

“ Helpful Reminder! ”
This review of the 4th Petition of the Lord's prayer rightly states: "Man depends upon heaven for the means and comforts of this life. The fourth petition underscores this point that God's concerns are for our spiritual and temporal needs in this life." What dependent creatures we are on the Creator of all men and the redeemer of his elect. We are reminded by the Larger Catechism (Q.193) when we petition God to give us a reasonable portion of the good and necessary things of this life that we ask for mercy. We have by our sin, original and actual forfeited our 'right'. Christ has procured this right in the Covenant of Grace giving us faith to ask for what he deems necessary for us in order that we are able to fulfill what is expected of us or our duty in seeking first his kingdom and righteousness. In my life the great God of heaven and earth has used this simple concept of dependence on him in this matter to show me my heart and conform me more and more to that which is pleasing to Him, his own image in us. Being too easily forgetful He daily reminds us of our great need of Him and of submission to Him in all things, by showing us as only He can; not our needs only but all men's, especially those dependent upon us, or we upon them. I return thanks for this help.

The exercise of love is to be in strict conformity to the revealed will of GOD.
We are to love "in the truth". 3John 1
Yes. Looked into the sermons you spoke of. I started to look for information about the speaker. I notice that speakers no longer give all the information I'd like, as to what they believe, but I listened to one of his sermons in part because I had to go to get wood and it was on the regulative principal. He in essence said what you're saying here, it is not about us but about what God commands for if he is the object of our worship it must originate in His mind and not the mind of a fallen creature even in the process of sanctification.

Appreciated your suggestion too Ladybug.
Gotta go get my local eggs and a piece of raspberry pie my neighbor just offered me. Later. Hi Dorcus!

Interesting, I checked back in and this reminded me I'd read the same last evening. Just now took a couple of notes on what I was listening to, while cleaning up in the kitchen. What I noted seems to fit here. It would seem the man of sin is covering all his bases.

"It is hard to run an empire without being inclusive." (from my notes)

What I heard, together with my thoughts. In time the church of the earth and her bishop will'implode' or self destruct in answer to the prayers of the saints, offered by the Mediator, that are in agreement with the whole counsel of Scripture.

Rev 13:11-12 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the 'earth'; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the 'earth' and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

Empires rise and fall at the decree of the King of kings and Lord of lords, who executes his decrees in the works of creation and providence.

Mercy is for those who are pitiful, sin has made man to be pitied. Of this need the Immutable God has been aware before the foundations of the world. Eph.1:4 Yet he said to Moses and Paul repeats for our instruction: Rom 9:15-18 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

If one's beliefs are not in line with the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments that is a contradiction of God's revelation and a wile of Satan. Continued in, it will harden the heart and its receptiveness to truth. Pro 11:19-21 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death. They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight. Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

Bro.McLeod/Bklyn,NY is to your comment, what Jason Cooley is to Old Paths Baptist, doesn't ring true. The Quran & sodomy have a mutual interest in American children? It doesn't seem they can share the preeminent position with humanism. It reminds me of a news item I read last evening; the US, Russia and France sharing Syrian airspace?

When's the last time the public schools taught from Scripture? What was done about that?

Staying on the subject, you ask: What are we going to do about it? The Scripture you refer to answers: Rom 9:29-33 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and *whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed*. See Romans 11 & Prov.3:1-7

Changing times for wild olive branches.

Thanks for the recommendation, Mourner.
And as we well remember, this happened in TN 2-3 weeks ago as well.
May the Lord bless it to your instruction. I read it some time ago and did not forget it. How dependent we are on Christ to 'subdue us' to Himself, to 'rule over us' and 'defend us' from all His and our enemies. They are better known to Him than to us.

O, How Worthy is the Captain of our Salvation. Rev5:12..Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
Rev 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

He has reconciled his elect to God and in time makes it known to them, He ever lives to make intercession for them. He comes along side by His Holy Spirit and teaches us from His word the will of God for our salvation.

May he separate his people more and more from their sin, and more and more unto conformity to his revealed will, their duty. Deut29:29

That's funny me giving computer help? On the left sidebar there is a place that says daily reading. There is an excerpt from either Spurgeon's Morning and Evening or Checkbook of Promises.
McCheyne's Daily Bible Reading is a schedule for Morning and Evening Private and Family Worship. It is something I've found helpful for many years.
Click on Tuesday's Reading when there and you should find it. Oops! you can't go back that way. I don't know if there is a way to view yesterday's promise?

Does anyone know?

Did you read the sermon from the link Get real? It was very helpful to me.

On another thread I suggested a sermon taken from Matthew 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

I re-read it this morning; Thomas M'Crie states the fan in Christ's hand used to purge his house of chaff and for the gathering of his wheat is: 1. the Word 2. Church Discipline 3. Affliction 4. Persecution and public calamity 5. Temptation and 6. The Final Judgement.

It would appear that the Word, Church discipline, and Affliction has not alone been enough to purge the floor of chaff in this nation and that persecution and public calamity is now necessary.

Can hand join in hand to fight the good fight of faith until this is
accomplished? Again I encourage the reading of this sermon. What should a righteous response be to these things? An ecumenical march? or repentance and godly sorrow? 2 Cor 7:10,11

Trying to take in all that has been stated in this thread, I found what seemed to address the matter the best from C.H. Spurgeon's Daily Checkbook of Promises here on sa.

Heb.4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

"Come, then, let us labor to enter into this rest. Let us quit the weary toil of sin and self. Let us cease from all confidence, even in those works of which it might be said, "They are very good." Have we any such? Still, let us cease from our own works, as God did from His. Now let us find solace in the finished work of our LORD Jesus. Everything is fully done: justice demands no more. Great peace is our portion in Christ Jesus. As to providential matters, the work of grace in the soul and the work of the LORD in the souls of others, let us cast these burdens upon the LORD and rest in Him."

As states Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
Heb 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
