Read the verses before and after to see the context. The children were brought unto him "that he should put his hands on them, and pray:" (verse 13) "And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence." (verse 15) There is NO MENTION of baptism ANYWHERE in this passage!!!

John, I don't think Jimmy is senile. He's just like most liberals who think they are smarter than God and can pick which parts of the Bible they want to believe while rejecting God's Word when it doesn't suit their fancy. Victoria Osteen's comments sound very similar to what John Piper teaches. Obviously, Lakewood wouldn't be the largest church in the U.S. if they started following the Bible. If they started talking about sin, holiness, and God's coming judgment, the place would start emptying rather quickly.

So many people today are so used to being regulated by the civil authorities in every area of life, that they don't really know what it is to be free like those of previous generations before licenses for this, that, and everything in between. And what's really ironic is that many conservatives who say they believe in constitutional liberties are the most vocal when it comes to continuing the failed War on Drugs even though there is no constitutional authority for the federal government to regulate what a person consumes, whether it's a 24-ounce soda or a cannibis-brownie. God made herbs for our food. Anything from food to sex can be perverted in its use. That doesn't make the thing itself illegitimate.
