Catholic poster,
The religion of Rome has a catechism (handbook) that states what they believe and teach in all their parrishes
If you have a Bible read and compare it with their catechism, and if you are converted you will soon discover the Jesus of RCC is not the Jesus of the Scriptures.
Here are some examples with paragraph numbers from their catechism.
-------
He (Jesus) is unable to save completely (2027)
He is unable to save forever (1861)
He is unable to atone for all sin (1030, 1471)
He did not finish the work of redemption (1405)
He is not the only mediator (969, 494)
He is not the only Way (841)
----
The religion of Rome is according the Bible accursed.
Galations 1:8-9.
Flee!

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Gal 5:24
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Gal 2:20
It is a difference of being spiritually crucified versus being physically crucified to wood and nails.
kjg...concerning your 2 posts on this thread..

Since this thread is going no where at break neck speed... was wondering if some of the folks would comment on what age they were, when it pleased the LORD to open their eyes, and to turn them fom darkness to light, and the power of Satan unto God.
Might be a little more edifying and bring glory to our LORD.
I was 50.
Anyone else?

I had not heard of Bruce Metzger, so asked my husband...his response..."that heretic"
I told him that was pretty much the general consensus of the folks on the board...minus a couple of posters.

Many of us who hold to the AV have engaged with you Jim with the utmost civility and respect....but you have responded with sarcasm, and vitriol towards the KJV, and want to classify us as a cult...
Now who is vicious ??
Better turn your magnifying glass into a mirror....

B.
Fine.
We live in a society that the majority "hides it's eyes" while the goverment and the medical profession commits child sacrifice
But...far worse many who call themselves
"Christians" condone the practice..or are apathetic and just don't think about it or are prayerless concerning the matter.
When the destruction or disposal of human life is done so cheaply and easily, what a darkness has spread over the sanctity of life and human dignity...
May we all be praying
All of God's best.

"Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction".
Prov. 31:8.
Being anti-abortion is a non-negotiable ethic for true Christians.
The God of the Bible is a God of the fatherless and calls for the special care of the fatherless.
(Deu. 14:29, Isa. 1:17, Jam. 1:27.)
The pre-born are among the most defenseless of people. They cannot voice protest, they cannot run away from danger...we are to be a voice loud and clear loving our little neighbor.

I agree with Carl - this is pure evil, barbaric behavior from degenerates who have no understanding of the preciousness of human life. I cannot fathom anything more evil than the killing, dismembering and selling of the unborn. Surely the cup of God's wrath is nearly full.
Indeed sister , my husband started e-mailing and calling our congress men and state reps. to find out what they are doing concerning this murder of the pre-born....nothing but double speak and silence.
Come quickly Lord Jesus!

Sister, thanks for your prayers. With Dave and yourself praying, I can't help thinking I'll be right as rain by tomorrow.
There's more of us, although, with me praying, you'll probably wake up with an arm growing out of your forehead. I'm not the most elegant of prayers...
We need not be cast down and distressed by the fear of not knowing what to say.
If our prayers are stammering, our words feeble, and our language poor, take heart, our Lord Jesus can understand us, just as a mother understands the first babblings of her little child.
Our blessed Saviour understands our groans and sighs.
As one rightly said: "He loves me best who loves me in his prayers".
This is the highest love...

Praying also,John.

Jessica,
Most of us would prove to be as Job's comforters...miserable.
This is not the proper environment to discuss such personal and intimate subjects.
You are prayed for and may that be a sweet cordial for you during this distressing season.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Dear Jessica,
Many of us have had similar experiences as you had while growing up in non-christian homes.
It is a very sad reality but it is the fruit of sin and living in a fallen world.
Those of us who are born from above cling to the tremendous promises in God's Word, but we still at times focus on the wind and waves in our lives.(Mark 4:35-41)
Many times on this forum there will be silence on a comment that is posted, but I know in my particular case, it is not the proper venue to respond, so prayer is offered to the One who is able to comfort that particular individual in his or her situation.
Thank-you for your many insightful and beneficial posts, you are a blessing on this forum.
Blessings in the Beloved
