JayJay, concerning sc and the moniker theif 1 Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I thought as a child:but when I became a man, I put away childish things."
Sc wrote: "children shouldn't even know who Beyonce is" Romans 16:19 "...but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good and simple concerning evil."
I've always aussumed sc is a woman that has been hurt by sexual sins, perhaps an unfaithful husband, so she tends to be more sensitive to that sin. Which also explains why she comes off as bitter, especially toward the brothers. That's just my assumption, not absolute.
Mike, I hesitated to post my last comment. I couldn't remember if that was the case or not and now I feel I'm in quite the awkward position. Sorry for your loss.
I hate the articles that require you to sign up in order to read them. So what's a Christian woman to do if this becomes law? Register and hide if there's ever a draft? Refuse to register and run the risk of being arrested leaving her children and husband to make do without her?
Mike your testimony brought Matthew 10:37 to mind. Very encouraging to read of your trip out of Rome despite how hard it was. And so glad your relationship wasn't ruined with your dad. God is gracious to us when we obey Him. Will add your dad to my prayers.
A quick google search of one of the feamale characters turns up quite a few pictures of her in immodest apparel. The wikipedia article has their book cover image on it. One characater is not attired modestdly. The blind men seems to describe the elephant quite realistically. My only comment on this.
Rodney K wrote "that my grandfathers generation was a bit more God fearing than my generation or the current generation......we may not fall from enemies without, but we may fall from rot within."
Sadly this true I have yet to meet someone my age who fears the Lord and keeps His commandments. Very discouraging at times. That's not tooting my own horn....but for the grace of God there go I.
Jim, I can think of a lot of reasons why a christian shouldn't support Obama. Hasn't stopped you from praising him.
Nolen, I remember attending a youth concert that had Hawk Nelson there and some other bands as well. As soon Hawk Nelson started playing all the girls went crazy and started trying to grab at the lead singer. Complete with the whole "I'm never going to wash this hand again" attitude. To my shame I was one of those dumb girls. Nope, not a big difference between them and rock bands.
Visiting with extended relatives=socialization. Visiting with the librariarn, cashier, vet, Dr, etc=socialization. Visiting with mom, dad, siblings=socialization. Being nervous around unfamiliar people is natural. Even grown ups struggle with that.
As has already been said beards separate the genders and the boys from the man. It also protects a man from the elements; keeps one warm in the winter and keeps one from getting sunburned in the summer. God designed it and placed it there for a reason. Charles Spurgeon, "Growing a beard is a habit most natural, scriptural, manly, and beneficial."
Brother John, I'll keep this short and sweet so as not to distract from the thread. I do appreciate all the prayers the brethren offered on our behalf with my last pregnancy. The Lord proved Himself mighty during that time. My faith was strengthened. If you don't mind praying for this one too I'd appreciate it. The end of pregnancy is the most trying time to me. No names yet. My husband is picky --------- Great conversation taking place. I'm enjoying reading the comments.
I heard a guy preach that segregation by "kindreds" is biblical and that one should only marry someone of the same kindred. Forget that biblically speaking the only requirements for marriage is that it's between a man and woman and that both are Christians. Won't find that mans teaching in the Bible; not without twisting scripture.
John, she is healthy and indeed full of life! Thank you for asking. She's about to lose her position of being the baby. First boy to come any day now. Indeed we've seen the Lord do amazing things with our children through the KJV. It's amazing how much He allows them to grasp!
Psalm 151 John?! Haha I just went over the number of chapters in Psalm with my children this morning and then after reading your comment gave them a little "quiz"....what a blessing! They didn't fall for your little trick
