I could have easily been involved in this scandal. I actually applied for a position in this district (among many others)about two years ago. I can safely say as a first year teacher in today's economy, if the principal asked/told me to cheat, I probably would have. I know I wouldn't have stood up and said it was wrong especially if all the other staffers were doing it. I think the real reason they are in trouble is because the tests were state issued and had monetary implications connected with them. If every teacher were fired or investigated for giving students better grades than they deserved, then I'm afraid we'd all be looking for work. That goes for schools both in the U.S. and abroad.

Wait a minute...if watching TV for one hour only takes 22 minutes from my life then shouldn't I be watching more TV?

I agree with everything in the original post. I'll just add that we are lucky that we are a large nation and God can still find a couple of us that are trying to follow Him. Otherwise I would say that we would be due to have even more wrath poured down upon us. This is a small thing in comparison, but who would ever think that this would happen to the USA.

I would suggest that there is a world of difference between a saved sinner falling and asking for forgiveness every time he/she falls, and a "saved" sinner asking God to accept what he calls an abomination, forcing the agenda of acceptance/celebration on a society, and calling their behavior an alternative lifestyle choice.

At times it is a struggle to fight our sinful nature. If you aren't struggling with lust or anger, as in the examples, then you are probably fighting against something else. If not, then look out because you are a prime candidate to fall to pride which has been called the worst sin of all.

I'm not the first to say this, and it might not be the first time that I have repeated it, but you will remember that Jesus said wherever two people are gatherd in his name, He will be there with them. It means to me that eventually we will have "churches" with "congregations" of as little as two people, because we won't be able to attend the mainline churches any longer. How could you go into a church like one of these and give a donation?

I totally agree. There are so many college educated men and women in their late 30s and early 40s, who are suddenly without jobs. We are much too young to retire and yet it is very hard to compete with recent college grads with similar skill sets. I think many companies will go with the younger employee who can usually be hired on the cheap and can also be trained exactly how the company wants versus taking in an "older" worker along with his/her bad habits and baggage.

I got lucky in many ways because with my teaching degree I can work overseas. I am also lucky to have a wife that is willing to travel along with me. Here in the UAE the economy is slowing but it's not as bad as in America. I just hope I can keep getting contracts to work until we get some kind of recovery in the states.

There are a lot of things that we as heterosexuals, married and single, have done to "pave the way" for same sex marriage. Every secret abortion, every affair, every incident of premarital sex, almost every divorce, and the thorn in my own eye, every visit to the strip club or adult website have taken the focus off of the family and have made the sex act a cheap thrill rather than God's plan for the family. It isn't good. It isn't Christian. It certainly won't help America climb out of the cess pool. All we can ask for is God's forgiveness, both as a nation and as individuals.

A couple of other points. "Funny" tv comedeys and movies that have these sodomite themes that we laugh along with even in a teasing fashion are also part of the problem. All of the republicans that voted to pass this thing should be booted out of office at the earliest possible moment because they are not following the wishes of the people who voted them in in the first place. I think it's much worse when someone pretending to be conservative is actually a wolf in sheep's clothing than it is when the liberal wolf tells you what he is from the beginning.

The only reason needed, among many others I am sure, to justify my belief that a Bible believing Christian should have never voted for the Obamanation. I believe that "Dubya" for all his faults was a better president and that McCain would have been a million times better than Bammy for the simple fact that they would not export abortions to other countries. They also wouldn't be pushing the month long celebration of Sodomy that Barry endorses..but that would be reason number 2.

I liked 'Atlas Shrugged' the novel, and I've never seen the movie. I do agree with many parts of her philosophy most notably that we shouldn't depend on the government to redistribute the wealth. She also addresses what is becoming a real concern in today's America. That is providing people with money based on what they need rather than what they do. In the novel, individuals and companies are taxed and regulated so much that they are no better off for their ideas and hard work than the guy who sits at home trying to "find himself". Eventually, this leads to a creative vaccum and financial collapse. In this particular novel, from what I remember, organized religion is what she was against, and I think the church was in league with the politicos, also trying to get their share of the wealth. It's a loooong book, but I would reccomend it if you like distopia sci-fi type stories with a 1940s feel to it.

Anyway, I like parts of her philosophy and Atlas Shrugged was a good book. Her personal life, especially the athiesim and affairs, are things I would choose not to emulate.

Way to make a stand! Now let's see if he sticks to his guns or if he starts back peddling as soon as the media starts hammering him. If he made it until election time I would vote for him, but I'm afraid he wouldn't stand a chance.

The Pride is probably real because pride is the greatest sin of all. The joy, no doubt, is false. There can be no real joy for those outside of the word of God, because God makes the ways of the transgressor hard. I am ashamed that we are getting bombarded by these Sodomite Celebrations from both the public and private sector. What used to be locked away as a family's private shamed is now literally paraded down main street.

Good for them! ...and more good for any babies that might be saved because Planned Parenthood ran out of funds. I will always believe that our nation,s sanctioned murder of the unborn both at home and assisting doctors abroad is the biggest sin of America. Those souls cry out for justice. It doesn't surprise me when God takes away the blessing on a nation and unleashes his wrath.

Another reason why I wouldn't have voted for this guy if he were running for local dog catcher. Any Christian who voted for him needs to repent. Anyone who didn't vote during the last election needs to step up and vote next time. O'bammy's stand on abortion alone should have kept him out of office. These gay ole' celebrations are just icing on the cake. Some will say that McCain wouldn't have been much better, and I'll be quick to agree, but I would also bet he wouldn't be signing off on a gay celebration month. Bush takes a lot of heat for his time in office and his background with skull and bones and whatnot, but when he was in office he didn't have our doctors teaching abortion techniques to overseas doctors. Look it up, that's one of the first things Obama cleared when he took office. Say what you will about putting the less evil candidate in office, but I'll bet all those unborn babies would have liked to have seen McCain as president. I for one would have liked to have a guy in office that doesn't back up the Sodomites. Wake up America!

I read some of the article but it got tiresome around page 3. It's more of the same old "Hath God said?" argument that always comes around to justify disagreements with the mainstream faith. I personally do believe that God will give everyone a fair chance before they are cast into eternal damnation. For most of us that chance is right here and right now, but who is to say that one who never heard the gospel won't be given the same opprotunity? One way or another everything will be fair and transparent. There will certainly be levels of punishment and reward, but no one will be able to call God unjust. The question of where is Ghandi? Isn't really for us to answer. That being said, he certainly isn't in Heaven because of any good works that he did during his life. It seems he was aware of Christianity, but never converted. So we can speculate, but it's not for us to say.

More people are unemployed so they have more time to watch TV. They have become hooked and love TV much more than they did before when they were stuck working all the time. The problem is that once the unemployment check dries up and they can no longer afford a cable bill...or possibly electricity or a place to stay, that their love for TV will be based on what is available at the homeless shelter and/or prison.

This only further weakens our military. It's another endorsement by our country for a behavior that God abhors. I realize that a lot of good people are suffering in the nation right along with the bad. I'm not working in Abu Dhabi because things were so great for me in the U.S., but does it seem strange to anyone why we as a nation have been stuck in a never ending recession? I will always call abortion a much bigger abomination than the whole gay thing, so God already has enough reason to punish the nation. How much longer will he let allow the nation to exist? I guess he can still find ten decent people. We're just lucky that the population in the USA is bigger than that of Sodom.

Ditto the previous poster. I don't know about the timing or if the "good" people that lived before the first advent of Christ will have their chance in the 1000 years reign of Christ or not. Most would agree that the Old Testement saints are safe with God now. Personally, I could see all "good" people getting a chance during the 1000yr reign, but I wouldn't preach or teach that. In other words everyone will get a chance to accept or reject Christ. On top of that those with less knowledge will be punished less severely, I'm not sure how that works either. Finally, at the end of the 1000 yr reign, Satan is loosed and he still gets many people, people who have lived a thousand years with no doubt about who Jesus is, to turn against Jesus. My thoughts here are that this is for people like me. We will see that those who "had no chance" to learn the gospel would still side with Satan because it was in their nature from the begining. Anyhow, these are the kinds of things that keep me awake at night when church members say that all religions are pretty much the same.

Burning the Koran shows about as much class and common sense as building a mosque at ground zero. It's inviting trouble. It's throwing yourself into the lion's den and the attention that they are getting now is the only reward that they will get no matter what their intention may be.
