savedbygrace, Thanks for your post . . no hard feelings. These days I think it wiser to be as John Wesley put it "a man of one book", the Good Book that is and for me that means the AV! "Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of? Is. 2:22 Have a blessed day! |

savedbygrace,Mr. James White is an NASB promoter and spokesperson. I only wanted to point this out to John-UK as I know that the AV is the Bible of his choice, as it is mine, and direct him to a site which I thought might be informative to him. You might want to read Mr. Kinney's critique for yourself and then draw your own conclusions about Mr. White's position regarding the King James Bible as well. Perhaps I should have said that he is an outspoken critic in the King James Only debate. You are free to draw your own conclusions as am I. |

John - UK said: "Check out BOOK BY JAMES WHITE"John, did you know James White is a strong proponent of the NASB Bible and a vociferous critic of the AV (KJV)? ***** James White's Shell Game "Now you see it, and now you don't" © Will Kinney, used with permission. http://av1611.com/kjbp/articles/kinney-james-white-shell-game.html Excerpt: "James White is a well known critic of the inerrancy of the King James Bible. I have read his book, The King James Only Controversy, many times and I wish to address some of the issues he brings up regarding the accuracy of some of the readings found in the King James Bible. You should first realize that James White does NOT believe ANY Bible or any text in any language IS NOW the complete, inerrant, and 100% true Holy Bible. He now works for the NASB committee, and James even "corrects" his own favorite version, according to his own understanding." |

RELATED . . . Vatican Bank reported to be facing money-laundering investigation From The Times / UK / December 7, 2009 http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article6946507.ece"The Vatican Bank is under investigation for alleged involvement in a money-laundering scheme using accounts at one of Italy’s largest banks, according to a weekly investigative magazine. The investigation relates to alleged breaches of financial regulations and disclosure obligations at the branch, but it is possible that the investigation may be broadened to include accounts held at other Italian banks. Investigators are examining every transaction in accounts held by the IOR from 2006 to 2008, the magazine reported. In that period, it said that more than €180 million in cheques and transfers moved through the accounts. This is the most serious investigation of the Vatican Bank since the 1982 collapse of Banco Ambrosiano . . . As investigators consider whether to interview senior officials from UniCredit, Vatican lawyers are understood to be considering whether to argue that the bank is outside Italian legal jurisdiction. In 2007 a Rome court said that the Mafia was behind the 1982 death of Roberto Calvi, the Banco Ambrosiano president known as “God’s banker”." |

RELATED . . Source: (NECN/AP: Boston, Mass.) Link: http://www.necn.com/Boston/Nation/2009/12/28/Details-sought-on-Ireland-US/1262046869.htmlDetails sought on Ireland, US clergy abuse cases "Victims of clergy sex abuse and a group that tracks pedophile priests called on local Roman Catholic leaders and the Irish government Monday to publicly detail known connections between the clergy abuse scandals in the U.S. and Ireland. Two Irish bishops resigned on Christmas Day, joining two others who had quit since a government report in November revealed how Dublin church leaders had shielded pedophile priests from the law. Terence McKiernan, co-director of BishopAccountability.org, said the report detailed evidence that some accused priests in Ireland had been transferred to parishes in the United States. "Unfortunately the places they have been moving include our backyard," said McKiernan, who spoke at a news conference held in front of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, the residence of Cardinal Sean O'Malley of the Boston archdiocese. "So the Irish crisis has become our crisis, too," McKiernan said. "It's imperative that you release a complete list of all credibly accused Irish priests who were transferred to the Boston archdiocese," the letter to O'Malley stated. |

"For your sakes he became poor." — 2 Corinthians 8:9 "The Lord Jesus Christ was eternally rich, glorious, and exalted; but "though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor." As the rich saint cannot be true in his communion with his poor brethren unless of his substance he ministers to their necessities, so (the same rule holding with the head as between the members), it is impossible that our Divine Lord could have had fellowship with us unless He had imparted to us of His own abounding wealth, and had become poor to make us rich. Had He remained upon His throne of glory, and had we continued in the ruins of the fall without receiving His salvation, communion would have been impossible on both sides. Our position by the fall, apart from the covenant of grace, made it as impossible for fallen man to communicate with God as it is for Belial to be in concord with Christ. In order, therefore, that communion might be compassed, it was necessary that the rich kinsman should bestow his estate upon his poor relatives, that the righteous Saviour should give to His sinning brethren of His own perfection, and that we, the poor and guilty, should receive of His fulness grace for grace;"C. H. Spurgeon Morning Devotional |

Hey Jim, did you ever notice if your transpose the letters that comprise the word Santa, they spell Satan? And while true Christianity & the greed of commerical Christ-mass don't mix, it is in perfect harmony with the religion of Rome, who from their inception have made merchandise of the gospel, and of whom it is said:Rev. 18:11-13 "And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men." I am certain too that Christ-mass has its origins in Roman Catholicism. True believers know however that God is the giver of every good gift! (James 1:17) |

Pope urged to 'repent' over abuse - 12-22-09 Source: Irish Times online Link: http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2009/1222/breaking66.htmExcerpts: Christine Buckley, of the Aislinn Centre in Dublin One of Ireland’s leading child abuse campaigners has issued an open letter to the "pope to visit Ireland and spend seven days in repentance here." “I am utterly dismayed at your apparently apathetic approach to heinous acts of depravity perpetrated on children by priests, nuns, Christian Brothers and members of other religious orders as outlined in the Ryan and Murphy reports and covered up by Cardinal Desmond Connell and the bishops mentioned in the Murphy report,” she said in her letter. “Pope Benedict it is time that you came to Ireland. “Just as we as children slaved in institutions to produce wealth for the religious orders, so too did many laity who raised millions of euros over the years to swell the coffers of the Catholic Church and spread its influence around the world . . . Now you should spend seven-day repentance here" "Come to Dublin and Armagh and invite survivors to tell you directly their harrowing tales in the presence of those responsible for their suffering or the leaders of those organisations that were responsible.” |

Yes Jim, I would have thought the widespread clergy sex abuse scandal that continues to rock the foundations of this false church would by now have served as a wake up call to my Roman Catholic family members and Roman Catholics in general.I am struck by the many otherwise intelligent folk who embrace R.C. with no questions asked, who see the value in investing a substantial amount of time and energy in researching the prospectus of a company they might invest in to acquire a financial portfolio that they believe will secure for them a comfortable retirement, but in the matters of the eternal well-being of their souls, are unwilling to invest any time examining the doctrines of their church in the light of the Bible or the activities of those who have the spiritual rule over them, by searching the Scriptures to determine if in truth they are who they say they are, for by “their fruits ye shall know them.” Seems a bit like the “blind faith” exhibited by the not so wise investors who were willing to invest their life savings in the Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme, only to learn they were duped, but with far more serious repercussions . . that being the loss of their soul. “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”Matt. 16:26a |

I am VERY familiar with Richard Bennett & his website 'Berean Beacon' & have read many of his thoughtful, well-researched articles. As a former Roman Catholic, I have an experimental knowledge of the doctrines / traditions / theology of ROME, and as a result, can relate very well to the comparisons he draws between the false gospel of the Romish WHORE with the Doctrines of Christ . . the truth as it is in Jesus . . those set forth in God's precious Word. On a more personal note, I have shared my personal testimony with my brothers & sisters, some who remain R.C. & have included some of R.Bennett's articles in the process, only to have them returned to me in the mail. I oft-times marvel at their rejection of the TRUTH (II Thess. 2:10), as it contrasts with my love for it upon hearing the glorious Gospel of God's free & sovereign grace. (1 Pet. 1:22-23;1 Thess. 2:13)There but by the grace of God go I! Though they are my brethren in the flesh, they are not my brothers & sisters in the Lord. There has been a real division with us ever since I bore witness to them, even as Christ said there would be. (Matt. 10:35-37)Even so, God has graciously placed many here at Sermon Audio who are of "like precious faith", whom I can call in TRUTH my brothers in Christ. |

Some COLD HARD FACTS the evangelical signers of the Manhattan Declaration were willing to overlook in their R.C. contemporaries who they refer to as fellow “Christians”Some of the prominent R.C. Leaders who signed the Manhattan Declaration, the intent of which was to address MORAL issues in our nation can also be found on a database compiled by the Dallas Morning News in 2002 of those who protected, covered up & relocated known clergy sex abusers to other parishes and/or dioceses where they could continue their pattern of abusing children. Link: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/700708/posts or Google 'Catholic bishops and sex abuse – Database of Diocese & Bishops Involved' BISHOP ROBERT BAKER; BISHOP NICHOLAS DiMARZIO; CARDINAL ADAM MAIDA ARCHBISHOP JOHN MYERS; ARCHBISHOP JUSTIN RIGALI Information regarding Timothy Dolan, Archbishop, R.C.
