John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Rodney K writes:
I would like to think that most people hate racism, especially Christians. Yet just this past week I overheard a coworker - who happens to be a deacon in his church - using the "n" word. Then he acted surprised and somewhat indignant when I said that was offensive.

I remember when I was 14, I went to a church camp in Arkansas. One of the youth leaders was bragging about how when he was in school some blacks tried to go there, and they hung a noose in the tree in front of the school and scared them off. Another youth leader then asked why he was proud of that, and the guy had no answer.

I've lived in the south most my life, and I assure all that read this that racism is still alive and well in the south, even in churches.

Romans 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 4:14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

Notice Paul reinterprets the text and informs us that only those who have the righteousness of faith are heirs to the promise.

Ive read What In The World Is Going On by David Jeremiah, and he makes the same mistake all dispensationalist make: trying to fit current political events into scripture.

J4J,

The promises of Abraham are to those in the faith, not Christ rejecting Jews.

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Romans 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 4:14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

J4J,

Two things:

First, I dont believe that anything that happened in 1948 or 1967 has anything to do with the restoration of Israel as prophesied in Scripture. Second, I believe Matthew 24:34 was to the disciples generation, not a future one.

Also Ive seen a generation as being defined as anywhere from 22 years to 55 years, so there are many different thoughts as to the length of a generation. You seem have a generation and the average human lifespan confused.

Your number is off. It doesn't make sense to apply the days as a thousand years. The point is that God takes His time to work things out. He has taken 2000 years to replant Israel for a reason, I believe that reason is for His return. Now does that make the people of Israel saved, no, but the remnant will be!
Yeah, I did get the math wrong didnt I. Anyways my point still stands, you are using one half of the verse that suits your beliefs, and ignoring the other half which doesnt make sense either. Also a generation is 40 years.

John for Jesus writes:
If a thousand years is as a day to the Lord, then it has been two days since the time of Christ and a new day will begin.

The same verse also says a day is as a thousand years, so by your same reasoning its also been 730000 years since Christs crucifixion to the Lord.

The verse has nothing to do with how we are to interpret a day, but is simply stating the God is outside of time.

I agree Carl. Antinomianism is rampant in churches today, and if you stand for holiness, you will likely be called a legalist. May God conform us to the image of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Well I hope you change your mind Dorcas. It doesnt seem that bad to me, but I havent posted as much lately, so maybe Ive missed whatever drama you are referring to. Anyway, if the glorifiers as John UK puts it, decide to leave, things will only get worse, so I encourage you stay and be a light on this forum when the grumblers post foolishness.

"A despondent Ryan cut off from his parents and his faith, started taking drugs and in 2009, died of an overdose".

Proverbs 1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 1:30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. 1:31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

I dont think the love of the brethren has grown cold here. Sure we have the same ol' hatemongers stirring up strife, and more than a couple trolls posting foolishness, but other than that its still the same forum Ive come to enjoy being a part of.

John Yurich USA from USA writes:
Those stupid atheists. Atheists really are brain damaged because atheism goes against logic. Logical and analytical thinking dictate that the God of the Bible exists.

Well arent you just a paragon of wisdom.

It doesnt matter how smart or stupid soneone is, NO ONE seeks after God, NO ONE can come to Christ, NO ONE can recieveth or know the things of the spirit of God unless given to them of the Father.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Romans 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
