Christopher000,
It's me, I usually am stretched in my responses, but just noticed of late how seemingly fake and self righteous the church has become. Then I come to SA and see it here. It's a problem I have, being over zealous. But, you are kind and have always been to me.

On another subject, whatever happened to John UK? I liked that chap.

Ladybug,
Seriously, you are disingenuous and out of place. Demanding apology and acting like some priestess of righteousness, trying to create a faction through compliments. Besides, I said I appreciate Frank's genuine remarks, it was candor and uncompromising. I did come in, as UP stated in a post, like bull in a china shop, but it was to multiple posters and general to the church. Yet, you sit and wait like an asp to strike. Then say " well, WE tried to set him straight" yeah, like you do Jim and John Y constantly and specifically. Why is it I, Jim, and John need the rebuke and barrage of repent or perish exhortation? Why do your posts hold more weight than mine or somehow the apex of righteousness?
Ladybug....like that's your real name.

UP,
God is great.....alone. That's the point. Walter and I have lived the fake Christian life, with its "brother this brother that" going along to get along, to our wretched demise. And this is not a boast, but we have seen gross evil in ourselves and others thinly veiled by cordial persona and sugary "Christian" discourse. I appreciate and do try to shut down people like Frank who said he hates Hillary Clinton. I do not know many Christians would say that out rightly without trying to pretty it up with "but she's in my prayers".

Good article. The biologist made some revealing remarks, which have become prevalent over the years by Evolutionists; the absorption of philosophy into or under the umbrella of Evolutionary thought. Which, if they were honest, creates a major conundrum for them. What do they do with homosexuality, transgenderism, racism, imperialism, on and on, morality itself?

Jim,
Conservatives do not need to buy the book or attack her, she's doing that job for them by merely writing a sad relitigation of why she lost. Everything under the sun, except herself, is to blame. Sad.

Not dying on this hill. Will rejoice with those who are SAVED, regardless at what age they were baptized, and the thief on the cross who wasn't even baptized, in heaven. Soli Deo Gloria!

Dr.Tim,
A baptized, UNSAVED adult only knows he made a profession. You can play semantics with wording, but the reality does not change. Baptism IS a seal for a baby IF/WHEN they are saved and for the adult, like the eunuch. Baptism points to true salvation, not to an age.

Ladybug,
I concede to scripture, I have already stated that. People who hear AND are saved have a seal in baptism. The seal of salvation ( baptism) IS NOT applied by MERE profession or decree of the RCC, but is applied WHEN a person is saved. This is not opinion, it is biblical truth. MANY have and will be baptized iand profess Christ as savior BUT are none of His. Therefore the SEQUENCE or TIME of the baptism is irrelevant, but whether a person is actually made alive or not is it relevant. Again, not opinion but biblical. Please do not attribute infant baptism SALVATION to what I'm saying, because I clearly do not believe it.

Kev,
The ritual of circumcision is not done away with, but was fulfilled in Christ. To say all who have been baptized as an adult because they heard a sermon are absolutely saved is no different from the RCC doctrine, you merely changed the age. It is the APPLICATION of baptism not the WHEN of baptism that matters. Meaning, whether babe or elderly, young or old, baptism is a true seal ONLY if the individual is truly elect.

Ladybug,
I do not refute scripture, only some of your use of it. Yes, there are those who, by God's grace, hear AND are made alive simultaneously, but this isn't the issue.
I mean, seriously, how is the age of a person at baptism apply to true salvation? Plus, if a child is baptized as a babe does that mean they CANNOT be saved because it is perceived to be of the RCC? To use your angle, where does it EXPLICITLY state in scripture women are baptized? If it doesn't, then why are they
baptized? This illustrates how Scripture is to be read as a whole to understand the flow of God's revelation.

Ladybug,
Answer your own question. What is the point of any baptism that does not 'pan' out by actual salvation? Unless you are saying all who are baptized as an adult, however that matters, are in fact saved. Then you would be the one holding to a "Roman holdover" principle. Plus, your Acts example doesn't help your argument because ALL the Israelites heard the WORD and the men circumcised on the 8TH day according to the law. Were they ALL saved because they heard the word and were circumcised? Of course not. So, again, it matters not the WHEN of baptism but WHEN it is applied.

Ladybug,
The issue isn't when the baptism takes place, but when is it APPLIIED. The scripture is clear on that point. Paul makes this point when referring to circumcision. The same truth can be applied to baptism, just because one is baptised doesn't mean he is saved. Someone could be physically baptized, but it not actually apply until later when they are made alive in Christ. The same for an infant, the baptism isn't a seal until made alive. If they are not made alive, then it is exactly how Paul explained circumcision. Both are applied when the Child of God is made alive, proving the seal of the elect.

The classic fallacy of "where are the verses" to disprove a theological truth is playing out. The scope of Scripture is a COVENANT between God and His elect. Those who were circumcised as INFANTS were not SAVED, but were circumcised notnetheless. The RCC assert SALVATION comes THROUGH baptism. Reformed theology does NOT. To think all who are baptiised as adults are saved is more akin to the RCC stance, just a change in age. There is no anabaptist belief, the Reformed understand salvation has been established "before the foundations of the world" and the seal of baptism is applied once someone is made alive (spiritually) in time. There have been many people who have been baptized after receiving the word but are NOT of the faith.
