“ Mixed Signals ”
Overall good sermon, solid principals on modesty, however....,i was a little taken back that the sermon began with the admission of the use of a male midwife, i find this somewhat contradictory in trying to send a message of modesty in all situations. the pheonomina of males attending women during childbirth is a fairly recent innovation, which i find to be unbiblical in principal. do not mean to offend anyone, just wanted to point that out and think it should be across the board.

Sermon:
Our Duty As Christians
Pastor Carl Lubin
1
comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
An encouraging and stirring sermon, just as Brother Lubin set out to preach. I appreciated Lubin's perceptive comments on how too many burdened people will turn on Dr. Phil, Oprah or just "Google it" instead of turning to God (even professing Christians too often trust a James Dobson, Joel Osteen and/or Joyce Meyer before opening up their Bibles and going to their knees to seek God's guidance!). Lubin calls out Christians who are "slacking and dropping the ball," neglecting evangelizing and their own reading of the Word. I fear Lubin is correct that God may bring persecution upon us. Should the Lord do that, it will certainly serve to separate the wheat from the chaff among churchgoers and would have a purifying effect, forcing believers to choose this day whom they will serve. Thank you, brother, for providing me much to think on and for encouraging me to set to work building. I am confident the Lord will continue to prepare and equip you to fulfill your call to ministry. You certainly have a commanding pulpit presence and the courage of your convictions. Christians need to hear more such uncompromising, hit 'em where they live messages such as this, and I thank God he is calling forth a new generation of men who will be faithful to deliver them.

Sermon:
Getting Our Priorities Right
Pastor James J. Barker
1
comment
“ A Bold Broadside Against Worldliness in the Church ”
Pastor Barker brings a bold word that exposes mainstream evangelicalism's continuing capitulation to popular culture. It's a message that stirred me to reexamine my own stand and relationship with the world. Through disturbing testimonials from Franklin Graham's "Rock the River" youth event in the Quad Cities, Pastor Barker provides overwhelming evidence that mainstream evangelicalism has so compromised with the world that now even mosh pits, body surfing, and screaming rock n' roll music are seen as acceptable means to evangelize young people. An especially salient point Barker made was noting how often the Lord's name is casually taken in vain by young people addicted to the texting shorthand OMG. I've seen it around so many times I had become desensitized to it, but may we never become numb to such things. Pastor Barker's sermon was alarming, even as I know that the worldliness he describes is rampant in many evangelical churches in most every community, raising few if any eyebrows. The message made me ask myself how far have I stepped out onto that slippery slope? I was motivated to pray that I never compromise or bring shame upon the gospel.

“ Gives peace to my soul ”
This sermon "tells it like it is." Believe in Jesus Christ into your heart and you will be changed to salvation. No religion can do it, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ opens your heart and lets you become a child of God and welcomes you to eternal salvation. Praise Jesus Christ!
