Living A Life Of Repentance

“ Great Sermon! ”
This ought to be an attitude and chief concern of all hearts, without daily repentance we display rebelliousness against GOD and that's not acceptable. Repentance is a daily medicine and cure for sinfulness. Thank you GOD BLESS YOU.

I have listened to several messages by Pastor Carlsen on SA, and, each time, I appreciate him even more! There is never a check in my spirit as he speaks - only, a "yes," and "amen" as he faithfully proclaims God's word. This is another excellent sermon, and will bless the hearer.

Sermon:
The Simplicity of Confidence
Derek Carlsen

comment
“ Excellent message! ”
Pastor Carlsen's teaching is so Biblical, instructive, practical, applicable, and given with reverence. There is such a tenderness in his presentation of Scripture that he calms me with his voice. What a privilege it would be to be a part of the congregation that he pastors. The title of the message sums it up - we are to live our lives with simplicity, and in confidence. Take a listen for truth that will sink into the heart and provide encouragement in days where appearance trumps what is genuine.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Pastor Carlsen's messages on Sermon Audio are a blessing to listen to. I only wish that I could attend the church that he pastors, but distance does not allow. Thankfully, I can listen to him as he expounds the Scriptures and exalts the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you, Pastor Carlsen, for this excellent sermon.

Thank you, Pastor Carlsen, for this message challenging us to live our lives before the Throne of God for His Glory, and not for the praise of man, and not serving ourselves, but serving others that they may know our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be all praise and glory and honor.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Thank you so much for this sermon which nourished my soul. This reverential awe of God has been lost in most of the gatherings of "christians" that I have been associtated with. In a neighborhood Bible study conducted by a PCA elders' wife, I was the lone person, rejecting Rick Warren's book. Needless to say, I was looked on as a divisive person. When the majority of "christians" and even pastors promote books by Warren, Wilkinson (Jabez), and Hybels' model for church growth, one is alone when taking a stand against the status quo. He/she is told not to be divisive, and that a christian is called to submit to leadership. I've listened to this sermon twice, and I hope to listen again. The Truth of God's Word faithfully presented brings comfort to my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Pastor Derek. I still have a problem with a christian having no rights, and everything in me asks, "is this so?" Does it mean passivism? I tend to be much more one driven to take a stand. If God had allowed and I had been born a man, I have the heart of a Wilberforce. Is it wrong to stand for what is right always?

Neutrality is a Destroyer

“ Great Sermon! ”
Thank you for opening my eyes to such an extent. The tendency to remain neutral in many issues is more than likely. It took this sermony to emphasis the vanity of such a stance.Neutrality with this shaded light is a manifestation of a default christian perspective.Hence the need for correction as heralded by this sermony.Continue this degree of frankness in matters of faith like one under discussion.Emmanuel Mahusa A great sermony.

A wonderful Sermony The sermony knocks heavily upon my heart. The force of the knock is real, and it is in hot pursuit of the lost sheep and endeavours to win permanent subscription of the saved souls. The word sounds new and fresh and it quenches all the facets of human life complex as it may be.It remains relevant to all people of diverse backgrounds.

Examples That Warn

“ AWESOME, POWERFUL Sermon! ”
EVERY WORD OF THIS SERMON IS POWERFUL. Consider: The world is constanlty bombarding us with desires that are opposed to God and fight against God. Do not love this world or the things in the world. Sin is desiring what God has forbidden. "...to pamper these lusts and desires is to strengthen them...when they are in charge, they are tryants and they are destroyers. "When you increase the strength of any fleshly desire, you at the same time weaken your ability to walk in the Spirit—that is, you weaken your ability to walk in the victory of Christ, in His power and His grace. "Jesus taught when we desire anything other than Him and His will these other desires 'choke' the Word and it becomes unfruitful (Mark 4:19). The delight and appreciation in God's word vanished. The Word of God becomes as meaningless as an old newspaper. When we give into our desires, we cannot control the direction they will go. We are at the mercy of our lusts. The desire becomes our Lord. We must we rip them out without mercy. Rom. 6:12 The only escape route is Jesus Christ. "Lord, give me the desire to desire what is right." It's only in His grace that our sufficiency is found. We fight against sin, not in our own strength, but in God's (Titus 2:11-14).
