Timely Sermon! Thank you. This very morning I spoke with a fellow teacher who is also a Christian about dealing with children who seem so out of control that we could despair how to help them. I've been in her shoes & shared with her my view that God hand picks every child in our care. Her little student might not be demon oppressed but she certainly is living in her own mini hell of a life. Her greater need though than a skillful, even loving teacher is Christ. I encouraged my colleague to remember THAT fact most of all. I plan to follow up to share with her our duty to weep over their sin as if it were our own, and to pray that God would intercede and attend every thought, word & event in our dealings with our little charges.
Thank you for affirming to me here in this message: TELL THEM THE TRUTH. That was my key point to her & hearing you say it encouraged me! Ok. Phew! I'm on the right track.
Tell them the truth!
Humility abd compassion. Jesus teaches us humility and compassion. In the Kingdom of God we must not have our eyes upon other, competing proudly with them, but on the Lord, the Master, listening to His commands and obeying.
Advantage of giving. A good message about the spiritual advantages of giving. God gave His Son for us and the Son gave Himself for us with generosity and without complain. We should give ourselves likewise unto God.
Renewed by God. Excellent sermon. Whitefield demonstrates that man is fallen and this affects his intellect, will, emotions, conscience and rationality. The Holy Spirit is He who can renew the man.
response to Mr sullivan Thank you for that and I am really inspired to witness for Christ and to read good books that encourage me to be on fire for Jesus. Thank you for reading many of Edwards's sermons on line they have been a great encouragement to me, thank you.
Great warning. A message very rich in information. The conditions, motivations and the characteristics of hypocrites described with great details. It makes you understand how easy it is to be deceived to believe that you are OK because you have a certain amount of religion.
Great Sermon! We were so blessed and challenged by this message of Pastor Martin. It has the cutting-edge of the Word of God, the two-edged sword, so rarely found today!
Its a "must-hear!"
Two believers in a dry and thirsty land!
Most Helpfull. these sermons were great, really helped allot and show the true will of God in this area. i was just wondering, what is the title of Mrs Elliots book that you quoted a few times?
Great Sermon! Thankyou, you told his story well. Very interesting what God did in his life. I watched the DVD "Shadowlands" recently which I liked, I didnt know much about C S Lewis before, But I do now,he was a very loving and faithful Christian. This is a wonderful biography. Highly recommend listening to it.
Tragedy of unbelief. Tragedy of not believing in the Son of God, of seeing in Him only a man or only a prophet and not seeing that He is the God-man who came for our salvation.
Sin and faithfulness. The hellish ways of sin and lust and the heavenly ways of faithful serving unto the Lord. Herod and John, two different kind of lives, two different eternal destinies.
Heart of a shepherd. Christ is teaching us how to be good servants, with hearts of shepherds as He has. When we have little resources, if we bring them to Jesus, He can multiply them for the benefit of His people. The solution of the problem is not irritation or desperation, but dependence on God.
Great man of God. Spurgeon's conversion and ministry, his battle with theological liberalism. Useful lessons for us today to preach and defend the truth against errors. We must be faithful servants of God.
God changes the heart. Christ is looking at the heart. Sinful acts comes from a sinful nature, a sinful heart. All external, physical, acts and rituals cannot change the heart - only God can do it.
Weakness and power. Good presentation, balances, showing the weaknesses and errors of Cranmer, but also the accomplishments, the great things God did through him.
