Excellent Message! "Christ must reign!" And indeed this message stirs the heart to proclaim to all the world the Crown Rights of Jesus Christ! Thank you for this message.
Great series, but... I was thoroughly enjoying this series (like most of pastor Donnelly's sermons) but the final sermon had an annoying echo which rendered the sermon difficult to listen to. I wonder if someone could correct this through some audio software?
Outstanding - recommended! Outstanding history of the Covenanters in Scotland and N. Ireland, well researched and presented. A wonderful resource to help Christians learn about the history of Protestant Christianity and the price that was paid for us to have the gospel today.
Powerful reminder of sabbath blessing Very encouraging sermon. One of the great things is that the outline clearly comes from the text. A good reminder that the Sabbath is a blessing to us and for us, and that in it we rest in God's creation, recreation, and look forward to our home in heaven.
Refreshing and Invigorating Message!! I would say that listening to this sermon was probably the most profitable half hour i have spent in sermon listening as a long time. I recommend this refreshing and invigorating message to the hearts of all Christian ministers.
Many Thanks
Paul Thompson.
Tired Pastors, listen to this sermon God's encouragement to Jeremiah in the midst of difficulty is an encouragement 2600 years latter to His Servants who are struggling.
Demands a repentant response Using the simple metaphor of the ploughshare of repentance and the fallow ground of our own hearts, Pastor Donnelly wastes no time here, but cuts to the chase, challenging us over mere surface dealings with our hearts before God, and our readiness to promote and accept outward reform without inward change. Instead, he calls us to plough deep, repenting of the sins which compromise our faithfulness and keep us from fruitfulness. It is easy to applaud a sermon like this; it is easy to commend it to others; it is so hard to embrace this for ourselves. Pastor Donnelly sends us to the living God, who alone can equip and enable us for this hard but necessary task.
Importance of repentance otherwise hindered growth This sermon is excellent for anyone who is struggling with ongoing sinfulness which is stunting growth in grace.
A call to prayer Pastor Donnelly's careful, legitimate, and devastating parallels between Judah and the United Kingdom ought to shake us from our sloth and ease, and set us praying and working for the glory of God in our nation. We need soberly to consider the present realities and more awful prospects of judgement set out in this sermon, that they might draw forth from us a righteous and repentant response.
A call to faithfulness This sermon demonstrates Pastor Donnelly's ability to provide a penetrating analysis in brief scope, supplying a sobering but accurate assessment of our present condition and need, with insightful and powerful application of God's truth to the days in which we live. The preacher's honesty and earnestness call us to prayerful reflection and principled action. Anyone who preaches or teaches God's Word would do well carefully to consider these lessons from Jeremiah.
