AMAZING Sermon! I'm convinced that the Lord led me to this pastor at a crucial time. It was perfectly tailored to what I needed to hear. Through several of his messages, Pastor Mercer has been the Lord's appointed messenger to reach me and remind me that He has not forgotten me, nor will He fail me even though things look very hopeless.
If you are facing a similar outlook, take heart. Don't neglect this message. I also hope that listeners won't overlook two of his other complementary messages that complement this sermon: "Trusting in the Midst of Darkness" and "God's Purpose for His People" (oh and also "Take it to the Lord in Prayer")
In trying to express my gratitude, Philemon 1:7 came to mind (forgive me for the personalized paraphrased version)-- "I thank God for you... for I have derived much joy and comfort (and also hopeful encouragement) from your messages. My heart has been refreshed through you." God bless you, Reverend Mercer as you continue to preach the Word and serve Him.
Great Sermon! May God bless you sir, and empower you to preach Christ Jesus. It is true; we must look to Christ and trust in Him (Isaiah 45:22; Matthew 11:28-30; John 14:1-6)
Great Sermon! Wow! From the time I was regenerated and later taken out of the Catholic Church, my prayer was always, "Lord, don't let me be deceived. How will I know I'm being deceived if I am deceived." I see He has heard and answered my prayer and had not ever been presented with this theory on the cross and fallen sway to it as a young believer. I am staggered at the error.
Great Sermon! I must ditto the comment by Florin on the law of God. An excellent and clear presentation with simplicity of what the law of God intended to be to the people of Israel, and also excellent point how they were redeemed prior to receiving the written law. This no 3 is great.
Great Sermon! I am in a church that the pastor was old and gave up fighting the continual pressures to let the world in, but wasn't quite retirement age so he hung on 5 years longer than he should have. Our pulpit committee worked hard to find someone who would remain strong in keeping the world out. Inspite of their best efforts, the man they hired told them what he knew they wanted to hear. Its been all down hill from there, including letting unsaved public school students do a Christmas concert for one of our church services. I have been on the internet trying to find someone with some preaching that has some meat to it. My dad who is a died in the wool fundamental independent baptist recommended Dr Cairns as his favorite preacher to listen to."He gets it right everytime". This was my first message, and it won't be the last. Finally, a good message. What I mean by that is it caused me to stop and think about where I am in my relationship to Christ.
Great Sermon! There is no need for any believer to fret.
I thank my Lord and my God for His wonderful work of redemption. He is truly to be praised. His is truly worthy that all things should be summed up in Christ.
Great Sermon! In this message you'll find something that hundreds of thousands have attested to, but very seldom talk about.
SO WHAT IS THE SECRET?
