Sermon:
The Olympics' Public Defiance of God
Rev. Trevor Kirkland

“ The Olympics: Enjoying The Pleasures of Sin ”
The Olympics, and its many variants, like the World Games, Pan American Games, European Games, African Games, Asian Games, and Pacific Games, are the temporal pleasures of sin lasting for a season. It is wise to remember Hebrews 11:24-26 in a day where the Olympics is widely lauded, even by evangelical churches. The temporal pleasures of sin are not just manifested in the Olympics, but in all pro sports.

“ Olympic Martial Devil Arts ”
Another thing to note about the Olympics is that the Summer Olympics includes demonic martial arts like judo and taekwondo. Both judo and taekwondo have their roots in devil possession as well as the false religion of Buddhism. As we know, devil possession and the false religion of Buddhism are condemned by The Lord. Remember Isaiah 8:20.

“ Olympic Medals in Vanity ”
If there is one thing symbolized by Olympic medals and other prestigious accolades in the athletic echelon, they all show empty vanity. This sermon reveals the fact that the Olympics is full of empty vanity.

“ Olympic Idolatry Examined ”
This sermon examines the idolatrous Olympics, past and present, under the sponsorship of the IOC: International Olympic Committee (more like Idolatrous Olympic Committee) since the ancient and modern Olympics manifest idol worship, especially the worship of Olympic athletes and prizes. No wonder John Calvin prudently warned that the human heart is a factory of idols. That is what John Calvin would say about pro sports, including that of the Olympics.

“ The Olympics: Paganism and Greed ”
While the Olympics Public Rebellion against The Lord is mostly manifested in its promotion of paganism, especially during the opening ceremony, the other major sin of the Olympics is that of avarice. If we connect the dots on Olympic greed, we see that the Olympics, namely in its athletes, promote fornication and adultery. The problem with the Olympic events is not being so much talented in an athletic activity best suited only for recreational purposes and exercise, put how Olympic sports is a profession characterized by the sin of greed and adultery. Another way to put this. The Olympic Games, promoting the love of money since 776 BC.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Reuben's life shows us that God is merciful to His erring children, and yet sin has consequences, both for one's self and for one's family, as well as for the church of God. We must fly to God, relying on His mercy and grace alone for the forgiveness of our sins, and pleading His mercy not only for ourselves, but also for those with whom we are in covenant relationship.

Hope in Days of Declension

“ How fitting and relevant ”
The main point made in this message is: When godliness declines, public discourse is debased. So true: how often even the speech of God's children is brash, lacking etiquette, courtesy and godly mannerism. How contrasting with God's words: "The words of the Lord are pure words". Significantly it is observed that the use of language is an accurate indicator of the heart's godliness. "The mouth of the righteousness speaks wisdom because the law of the Lord is in his heart" Thank you

“ Do you wonder what we should do today? ”
Help Lord! Why isn't the church praying for our Lord's help as David did in this Psalm? We see the exact same symptoms in our day, the decline of language, the decline of our culture and the failure of our church to find a solution. Help Lord! Let our prayer be to God for deliverance and assistance in this time of great declension! Thank you Pastor Kirkland for such a powerful and truth filled sermon.

“ A must hear sermon for the election! ”
If you are pondering how to cast your vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8th, then you must listen to this sermon before hand! Pastor Kirkland sets before us the Godly standard that all Christians must adhere too. It is not simply a matter of "voting for the lesser of two evils," it is a matter of standing faithful unto the true King of our land, God! Listen and hear brothers and sisters in Christ before you vote! Stand for King Jesus in the midst of a land that has forsaken Him and His truth, His majesty, His divine right to be King.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Wonderful and timely sermon by Pastor Kirkland. Yes this was from 2010, but sermons like this should be thundered from the pulpits. Very few pastors on this planet, especially American ones, will dare to touch this subject, much to the chagrin of the church. Thank God for raising this man up who speaks the word of God unashamedly. Of the thousands of sermons on this website, I find it interesting that only 49 are under the category of Feminism. That speaks volumes of how weak and effeminate our pulpits are today.

Sermon:
New Calvinism
Rev. Trevor Kirkland
1
comment
“ Valid and clear-cut observations ”
This message provides an accurate, and a comprehensive description of the shortcomings of this popular –ism of our day. Many fellowships are ‘coolly’ infested with the attitudes of this movement in different degrees. It seems appropriate to ponder what new ills this philosophy will yield in the years to come. Certainly, it does not seem it will harvest godliness. Thank you for the clarity exercised when listing the six main concerns about the movement. 1. Focus: It embraces too much because it emphasizes too little. 2. Vulgarization. 3. Lack of separation: Worldliness is not an issue, 4. Confusion about the basics:Participants blank out any comments or questions and prove unsympathetic to further reformation. 5. Rejection of the law in reference to sanctification, 6. Worship: Culture, background or taste determines valid music styles independently from the lyrics; music styles are neither good nor bad, endorsing no absolutes.
