The United Reformed Churches have extremely deep roots which reach down through the ages. They begin in the promise of God that He would always maintain and preserve a Church on this earth that would serve Him. They can be further seen in the three creeds which it professes; creeds which stretch back to apostolic times. These roots can also be found in the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century, which follow the teachings of such reformers as Martin Luther, John Knox and others, yet owing most of its appreciation to the work the LORD had done through His servant John Calvin.
