James tells us that a perfect man is able to control his tongue. From one mouth we ought not be able to hear blessings toward God and cursings toward other people whom God has created.
Our words (whether spoken, written, typed, shared with social media, etc) ought to proceed from a heart that is filled with true worship of our Lord, our Creator and Redeemer. They ought to build up all those who hear, whether in person, or online. [We are not as hidden as we would like to think we are when communicating online or on social media.]
Psalm 103 shows us a heart that is filled with worship. It commands itself to "Bless the Lord, O my soul" with everything that is within us. The Lord is to be blessed in ALL His dominion. Let us be among the first in line to bless His name.
Let us also allow that continual attitude of worship to pervade everything we say...especially in times such as these. More than ever, the one who should be the stumbling block is He...not me!
