We meet folks all the time who are out of control. Even we are guilty of saying ‘I just can't help it!' wrong. We all have the ability to self-govern or restrain ourselves. All of us can have self control but be must understand that the right temperance comes from the Holy Spirit. The need begins with understanding we must be born again so that we can yield to the Holy Spirit. But a life out of control is one that is not yielded, no matter how you slice it, to the Holy Ghost. Our faith needs self control or temperance in order to grow. If we have no self control we have a problem; basically we have no protection, anything can then get at you. Anything can bother you without self control. But control allows you to relax, breath, and be calm. And that control is over our own spirit, not someone else's like we may want. Self control also helps us to abstain from sin. Our bodies are utensils and can be used for right or wrong. Once we realize this and allow the Holy Spirit to produce this self control we can live victoriously.
