As we consider ourselves as sowers of the gospel, know that you will encounter four soils, four different heart conditions: the hard heart, the shallow heart, the constricted heart and the good heart. There is going to be outright rejection. There are going to be temporary believers. There are going to be people who won't let go of the world system. But know this: you’re going to encounter people with good hearts, new hearts given to them by God. They will truly repent and bear fruit in keeping with repentance! It is not the talent of the sower. It is the condition of the heart of the hearer. As we consider ourselves as hearers, what kind of heart do you really have? Check it. Submit to an examination by the Holy Spirit. Is your heart hard? Is your heart shallow? Is your heart constricted, too busy with all the trappings of this world to have any time for Jesus? May God give you a new heart. The good heart is the new heart, given to the child of God by the Heavenly Father. It makes all the difference.
