So too are we commanded to willingly offer upon the altar. Isaac's eyes were dead. So often our physical sight gets in the way of our spiritual sight. Jacob was dying yet worshipped the Lord. So too, if we are to worship the Lord, we must die to self. Joseph, died, yet gave commandment concerning his bones. We are to die to self, taking up our cross daily and following him, and giving commandment to our bodies that it might be under subjection to the will of God.
