Receiving a Response from God Genesis 15:1-21Abraham has faced fear in battle with the Mesopotamian kings. But now he faces fear of a different sort -- fear in the presence of an awesome God who appears to him .God , a Shield and Reward 15:1 Abraham experiences both God's "word" and a "vision," some kind of visual perception of God's presence. Now God assures Abraham, "Do not be afraid, Abram," calling him by name. God is saying to Abraham: Don't be afraid. I am your sovereign protector, and I am offering you an humongous reward, I am going to covenant with you for a future promise of Land and Recipient to it all for future generations to come. I want you to know that God has never broken a single word He ever promised. His word is true and His promises are reliable. I have here in my hands His oath. This should settle our doubts, questions, and apprehension. Do you need a word from God? Let me say, that if you do, listen, for He will give you a word. Remember, what He says to you, you can bank on it. For it is true. If God ever speaks to you, then you can rest assured that He will do what He says.
