The first fourteen chapters of Joshua narrate the conquest of Canaan, about 1406-1400 B.C., whereas 15-24 relate the division of the land among the tribes. Contrary to Numbers, which precedes it, and Judges, which follows it, Joshua emphasizes that Yahweh blesses His people when they obey Him. God commanding his people and his conquest of the land and the offer to them if they would be obedient He would continue to conquer the land for them, but if they were not obedient that they would become servants to the nations around them.
The Book of Joshua portrays the unchanging truths that lead us to Victory.
