King Uzziah set his face to seek the Lord and was marvelously helped to a point of great prosperity. His fame spread even to the borders of Egypt, but then he became strong and grew proud. In 2 Chronicles 26 we see the sad biography of pride destroying a man. Even when being rebuked by eighty men of valor he responded in anger. In our generation we've sadly seen many pastors go from famous preachers to fallen adulterers. Uzziah's life is a warning to us of the danger of pride. The danger of going from prayerfully seeking the Lord in humble dependence, to being strong, self-reliant and unable to receive constructive criticism.
