This is actually a post-Christmas analysis, but our pastor just can't help but turn it into an all-out rant. Now, we at Cliffside love it, but most of you are going to want to plug your ears at certain points... okay, most points. Here's the danger in listening (as the title tells you). The minute you go to your home church and try and teach anything you hear from this pastor, you'll be thrown out or excommunicated, or both. So, listen and enjoy learning new things, but whatever you do... keep it to yourself. People don't want to know when your right... at least most of the time.
The birth of Christ, as well as the death of Christ, are so convoluted by the traditions today that most churches are a mess. You're going to hear literal Biblical interpretations and man wants some silly tradition. I mean, flying Santa's? Come on. What's the thought process that came up with that?
Before I lose anymore of you, I should probably stop here. If it helps, the only other great preacher that I've heard take on these things, was the late Dr. Adrian Rogers, who was a Southern Baptist pastor, radio preacher, author, and did a wonderful job as the President of the Southern Baptist Convention for three terms.
So, just sit back and enjoy, or get mad if that's what makes you happy (I know I did).
Also, if you are willing and able, consider supporting Cliffside after giving locally. We are looking for a few to stand in the gap for a short time so we can launch a new Internet platform and begin going live on SermonAudio, to come out of this corona virus lock down stronger instead of weaker. Contact Supper Dave for details at (907) 240-7841 or [email protected].
