In this chapter Solomon tells us about people, the power they often have over others, and the oppression that results. Such are the inequalities that happen under the sun, that we become entangled with and that Solomon say are vanities. Let us remember though Solomon is wise he is not omniscient, he like most of us lack the ability to rise above the mundane and difficulties of of life. We all need to have a greater and better ideal with understanding about what goes on under the sun and that it is a result of the fall of man into sin and shame. Solomon was effected by the same things we are although he was endowed with wisdom he needed the Spirit of God as we do to look beyond the veil of life and see by faith. The apostle Paul wrote concerning the experiences he often suffered and said: "I can do all things Christ who strengthens me." NKJV
