The story of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane is an amazing and historical account of Jesus, the dutiful and obedient Son, who bows His own will to that of God the Father's stated desire and purpose. Hundreds of songs and endless thousands of sermons have been given on the events that took place in the garden of Gethsemane that night, but the vast majority of the commentators overlook what really happened. On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are taking a moonlight stroll in the garden of Gethsemane via the pages of the preserved word of God in our King James Bibles, and are seeing what we might find there as a silent observer. Notice the Lord how He prays! On His face, alone, He submits Himself to the Father in Gethsemane. Did you know that the word 'gethsemane' means 'olive oil press'? Jesus says His soul is 'sorrowful unto death', and so it is as it begins to go through the press, to start the excruciating process of having His soul squeezed right out of His body. But something else begins to happen, His prayer is so great that blood begins to be shed through His skin, do you know why the Bible tells us that? It is alerting you to observe the greatest victory in human history, as well as a stunning fulfillment of bible prophecy.
