While the people were sending Jesus away, Jesus was sending this man out as a witness to the transforming power of a Christ who radically saves to the uttermost. And so here we are 2000 years later, on a cold morning in New Jersey still marveling at this man's glorious testimony. What a witness he has been for Christ. Maybe you feel eerily like this man once called Legion. You may not be demon-possessed, but you are no less in bondage to the power of sin and Satan. Indeed as Charles Spurgeon said, Our sins may rightly be called legion; oh, how many they are!" Maybe it's a secret addiction to pornography? Or maybe you're dominated by of out-of-control emotions, chronic insecurity or fear? Maybe you are held captive by the opinions of others? Perhaps it's the tyranny of self-righteousness. Friend if that's you, you need to be delivered most of all because you're enslaved to your self-righteousness and can't even see your need of Christ.
