Family Worship Guide Memory Verses: Hebrews 12:2
Day 1: Read Luke 9:37-43 Why was the boy's father discouraged? Where does it appear his trust was placed? Consider your own life. Where is your trust placed? What was the most recent situation in which it was obvious your trust was placed in someone or something other than Christ. What was Jesus' initial response? Why?
Day 2: Read Luke 9:37-43 How should we make sense of Jesus' rebuke? Despite what appears to be "exasperation", what was Jesus like? What did he not do as a result of "fatigue"? Why does this matter for your own day-to-day existence? The next time you are "fatigued" what truth could you tell yourself so that you avoid sinning?
Day 3: Read Luke 9:37-43 What do you need to be delivered of? You might be saved, yet still entangled in some sinful habits or patterns. Ask the Lord to show you and ask for the grace you need to repent of these things, to put them off, and to put on Christ. Consider someone you could ask to help you "make no provision for the flesh", and make plans to reach out to them this week.
